The most surprising thing about the failure of COP15 is that the MSM is surprised by the failure of COP15.
Of course there is a great deal of confusion - and even more spin - about the significance of the Copenhagen Declaration... but if one looks beyond the charade, I believe one will see true Realpolitik at work.
The fact is the oil producing nations, and China and India are not interested in reining in the economy.
And who can be surprised that the G77 was less than "cooperative" when so many of their Islamic member states were content to prevent Denmark - land of the Muhammad Cartoons - from gleaning any status from a successful result.
COP15 was doomed to fail - that is one reason why Anders Fogh Rasmussen was so eager to resign as Prime Minister of Denmark and assume the title of NATO General Secretary.
