It is almost 20 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Let us not forget how important and suprising this event was. As a peaceful revolution it was no less than a miracle. Let us not forget that it while it marked a great victory in the COLD WAR - it also prooved that the thirst for FREEDOM among millions of people living under a suppressive regime could not be quenched by anything but real freedom - and once it was tasted there was no going back.
I think of the Berlin Wall not because it is almost exactly 20 years since that momentous event. I think of the Berlin Wall because I know there are still millions of people throughout the world who are living under repressive regimes and thirst for freedom. I pray that they too might realise their dreams peacefully. Nowhere is this more true than in the Islamic Republic of Iran. If the people of Iran could be free then their regime would no longer be interested in supporting terrorism and threatening Israel and the United States.
The leaders of Iran have called upon death and destruction to the United States for decades. This is done regularly at prayer and in political arenas. WHY DOESN'T BARACK OBAMA CALL FOR THE LIBERATION OF IRAN???
If readers of this blog would read a little about the Iranian involvement with the Afghan war against Russia, and the history of Waziristan they might agree with the following:
Waziristan and northeast Afghanistan are historically, ethnically, topographically, and STRATEGICALLY one region.
This area has been a nexus for Iranian aspirations since the birth of the Islamic Republic.
A vigorous effort to defeat the terrorists in Waziristan and their supporters in Iran is the ONLY way to begin to defeat ISLAMOTERRORISM.
PS: Don't expect the CIC, President Barack Obama to announce an escalation in Afghanistan until after he picks up is Nobel Piece Prise. (if at all...)
