NHS GOT WORSE LAST YEAR

FT:

Fewer National Health Service centres have been rated as "excellent" compared with last year in an annual survey.

The Care Quality Commission has written to 47 NHS organisations - more than 12 hospitals and 25 primary care trusts - warning that, if their performance does not improve, the inspectorate will not give them a clean licence to operate from next April, when all healthcare organisations have to be formally registered.

Those warned because of poor quality or mediocre scores include the Barts and the Royal London and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS trusts.

Actions the commission can take include warning notices, imposing conditions, fines or, in theory, closing all or part of a service.

ONE IN NINE WERE FAILING.

NO SURPRISE HERE: POLITICIAN DESIGNED, GOVERNMENT BUREAUCRACY RUN, TAXPAYER FINANCED SYSTEMS SUCK.
