BBC: Childcare help 'could be illegal'
Parents in England who regularly look after friends' children and receive a "reward" for doing so must register as childminders, regulator Ofsted says.MORE ON THIS BRITISH INSTANCE:
It said most parents would be exempt but those who babysat for more than two hours at a time, or for more than 14 days per year, should be registered.
The "reward" could be money or free baby-sitting in return, it said.
The warning comes after Ofsted told two policewomen to end an arrangement to care for each other's children.
According to the Mail on Sunday, Ofsted told two detective constables, Leanne Shepherd, from Milton Keynes, and Lucy Jarrett, from Buckingham, to end their arrangement.
Ms Shepherd told the newspaper: "When the Ofsted inspector turned up, the first thing she said was: 'I have had a report that you're running an illegal childminding business'.
"I straightaway thought she must be mistaken, so invited her into my home to explain we were police officers and best friends helping each other out.
"But she told me I was breaking the law and must end the arrangement with Lucy immediately.
"I was stunned, completely devastated... I couldn't see how I could continue working."
Adults 'must register with Ofsted' to look after childrenHOW SHOCKING, IT WAS DONE BY STEALTH.
Adults who look after friends’ children on a regular basis are being forced to register with Ofsted under new legislation.
They must complete a criminal record check, learn first aid, take a childcare course and even follow Labour’s “nappy curriculum” for under-fives.
Officials insisted the rules were needed to safeguard children.
But the move has been branded “absurd” by campaigners who claim it represents a serious intrusion into family life.
It comes just weeks after it emerged that parents giving lifts to other children face prosecution if they fail to register with the Government’s vetting and barring scheme, a new anti-paedophile database.
Dr Richard House, senior lecturer in psychotherapy at Roehampton University, and founder of the Open EYE campaign group, said: “In any ‘couldn’t-make-it-up’ league table, this latest Government incursion into family life surely has to come very near the top.
“It beggars belief that Ofsted is now telling parents that a private co-operative arrangement whereby friends choose to take care of each others’ children is against the law. It appears that the stealthy nationalisation of childcare is now proceeding at full throttle.”
The rules were set out in Labour’s Childcare Act 2006 and, in a little-noticed move, regulations were adopted two years’ later.
MICHIGAN:
MIDDLEVILLE WOMAN THREATENED WITH FINES FOR WATCHING NEIGHBORS’ KIDSHOW DARE PARENTS TRY TO RAISE THEIR OWN KIDS! THE NANNYSTATE KNOWS BEST!
A West Michigan woman says the state is threatening her with fines and possibly jail time for babysitting her neighbors’ children.
Lisa Snyder of Middleville says her neighborhood school bus stop is right in front of her home. It arrives after her neighbors need to be at work, so she watches three of their children for 15-40 minutes until the bus comes.
The Department of Human Services received a complaint that Snyder was operating an illegal child care home. DHS contacted Snyder and told her to get licensed, stop watching her neighbors’ kids, or face the consequences.
“It’s ridiculous.” says Snyder. “We are friends helping friends!” She added that she accepts no money for babysitting.
Mindy Rose, who leaves her 5-year-old with Snyder, agrees. “She’s a friend… I trust her.”
THIS IS HOW THE NANNYSTATERS OPERATE AND ANOTHER WHY WE MUSTN'T LET OBAMACARE TAKE OVER HEALTHCARE:
STATTISTS/LEFTISTS INSINUATE THEMSELVES INTO WHAT ARE FAMILY AND PRIVATE MATTERS - WHETHER BABYSITTER LICENSING OR "DEATH PANELS".
WE MUST NEVER LET POLITICIANS AND BUREAUCRATS AND THEIR CRONIES RUN OUR LIVES!

I would say thank god I am not in the UK as they have gone flippin' insane? But its encroaching insanity.
And what is worse? That the only reason Ofsed showed on their doorstep was that "a report had been made". GFG, how Orwellian, spy on your neighbors.
