A majority of independent voters disapprove of how Barack Obama's handling his job as president, according to a new national poll.

Fifty-three percent of independents questioned in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Tuesday say they disapprove of how Obama's handling his duties in the White House, with 43 percent in approval. That result marks the first time in a CNN poll that a majority of independents give the president's performance a thumbs-down.

HOW DID WE GET HERE? SIMPLE:

• HE TOLD PEOPLE HE WAS A MODERATE WHEN IN FACT HE IS THE MOST LEFT-WING PRESIDENT ON OUR HISTORY.

• LEFTISTS KNEW HE WAS LYING BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTOOD THE CODE AND THE SLY WINKS.

• BUT INDEPENDENTS WANTED TO BELIEVE THIS TALL HANDSOME MAN WITH THE DEEP WARM BARITONE AND THE SWEET SINCERE SMILE,

• AND THAT DESIRE - THAT CREDULITY, AND WILLINGNESS TO SUSPEND DISBELIEF - WAS RUTHLESSLY EXPLOITED BY OBAMA AND AXELROD.

• WELL, OBAMA HAS GOVERNED AS A LEFTIST AND THE INDEPENDENTS ARE PISSED OFF.

• THEY NOW KNOW JOE THE PLUMBER WAS RIGHT.

• THEY FEEL BURNED, AND THEY WILL NOT BE BURNED AGAIN.
