- signed the Vietnam Peace Treaty - which the North violated during the Ford Administration
- signed legislation creating the EPA
- signed the Clean Air Clean Water Act
- opened up China
- invented detente and held the first successful nuclear arms reductions talks with the USSR and signed a nuclear arms treaty
- invented federal revenue-sharing
- tried wage & price controls
- took the USA off the gold standard
- saw to it that NASA landed a man on the moon
- brought law & order back to US campuses
- created SSI indexing
- instigated the first widespread integration of schools in the south and the military - while opposing busing
- endorsed the Equal Rights Amendment
- founded OSHA
- reorganized the Post Office as a private-government corporation
- established the Consumer Product Safety Commission
- invented the Legacy Plan - the FIRST affirmative Action program
- tried to pass mandated private health insurance via businesses
- airlifted weapons to Israel during the 1973 war - saving Israel
- lowered the national speed limit to 55

IN MERELY 5 YEARS - FIVE DANGEROUS AND TUMULTUOUS YEARS - NIXON MADE MORE LASTING AND POSITIVE CONTRIBUTIONS TO AMERICAN LIFE - AND GLOBAL PEACE - THAN CLINTON DID IN EIGHT.
YET NIXON IS STILL VILIFIED.
