Settlement construction on Palestinian land is illegal. That is the verdict of the international community and the United Nations. To ignore such is to be arrogant beyond belief.

By what authority is the land in question "Palestinian?" What about land sold in legitimate transactions to Jews by local Arabs - is it illegal to build on this land, too?
The Palestinian state already exists - it is called "Jordan."
Oh, and when the "verdict of the international community" and the blatantly anti-Israel UN is similar to that of the early 1940's, namely that "the Jews must die," will it be "arrogant beyond belief" for the Jews in Israel or elsewhere to defend themselves?

Tragically it is unarmed Palestinian women and children who died - over three hundred of them - as the IDF 'defended' itself against a dangerous 'threat' in Gaza just a few months ago. Prior to that it was a thousand unarmed Lebanese civilians. The IDF certainly has an enviable record of success with its tanks and planes against unarmed civilian populations.

it is a violation to FORCE settlers to move to occupied territory; it is not a violation for people to move voluntarily.
2 - the numbers of civilain deaths you ciote is bogus/propaganda. but even if it were true iT would not be the fault of the IDF, but HAMAS: Hamas violated international law by locating thier military stuff in civilian locations and by using Gazans human shields.

The terrible massacre of women and children is not in dispute. It was an atrocity. Hopefully, the Obama administration will ensure that no such killings happen again or all military and civil aid will be immediately discontinued.
