The New Duranty Times invited Muammar Qaddafi to write an op-ed on Israel and the Arabs. It was no surprise to read that he advocates dissolving the Jewish State by returning it to the Arabs. He thinks that Israel should be replaced by a new country to be called "Isratine."
But that's old hat. What did you expect he would say?
What I thought was more interesting were several of the points he made on the way to his stated conclusion. Did you ever think a Muslim Arab leader would admit this:
The Jewish people want and deserve their homeland. Not "a homeland." Their homeland.
What about this:
A two-state solution will create an unacceptable security threat to Israel. An armed Arab state, presumably in the West Bank, would give Israel less than 10 miles of strategic depth at its narrowest point. That's Qaddafi, not Netanyahu. And what about this:
It is important to note that the Jews did not forcibly expel Palestinians. They were never “un-welcomed.”The Muslim leader of an Arab State actually admits the truth!
There are more than one million Muslim Arabs in Israel; they possess Israeli nationality and take part in political life with the Jews, forming political parties. In fact, the Muslim Arabs have more civil rights in Israel than they do in any Arab country.
Qaddafi's conclusion is erroneous. A three-state solution would make more sense.
