When you put your faith in politicians and money you're bound to get burnt.
This why ULTIMATELY, small government and a frugal life - devoted to more than money and acquiring material things - is fundamentally better than big government and the covetous drive to attain wealth.
Sadly, to keep the world's financial system afloat the US taxpayer must now bail out the world's banks - to the tune of ONE TRILLION BUCKS. And we must do this even though most of us did nothing wrong, earned every penny we have and borrowed only what we could pay back.
The people most responsible should be punished.
And that's not the folks who bought the Fannie Mae derivatives in good faith; it's the Democrats of Congress - who prevented proper oversight of Fannie Mae.
We can do that this November.
If the crisis and the bailout piss you off, then you should vote GOP this fall.
The Democrats of Congress have proven - by their opposition to The Surge and their piss-poor oversight of Fannie Mae, (and refusal to pass more regulation over Fannie Mae) - that we mustn't ever again trust them with either our financial security or our national security.
VOTE ACCORDINGLY.
