HAPPY NEW YEAR!
We Jews celebrate the New Year in this the SEVENTH MONTH.
And it's really the seventh month in the Christian calendar too: SEPTember. Sept = seven.
The astrological sign for this month is LIBRA whose symbol is the scales which is the symbol for JUSTICE and JUDGMENT. It is time to re-balance the scales.
Rosh Hashonah begins the period of judgment for us Jews: we ask each other for forgiveness for the wrongs we did to each other and to G-d for the wrongs we committed against G-d - that we might be entered in to the Book of Life in the coming year.
I also pray that our elected leaders behave responsibly and honestly and do what needs to be done to balance the books.
It's now or never...
And I wish all of you a sweet new year!
