Obama shows true colors again: Criticizes Russian Invasion by Blaming... America

Blame America First? Check.
Moral equivalence gone wild? Check.
A valid indicator as to where this Marxist serial liar would come down whenever the "Wolves" of the world threaten the "Sheep"? Check. (can you say "Baaaaa..."?)

This is right up there with Kerry's "you might end up in Iraq" remark.

Charles Johnson:

Barack Obama’s naïve, almost schoolyard-level attitude toward international politics is on display again today, as he says the US needs to set a better example for Russia: Obama: Russia, U.S. should not ‘charge into’ other countries.

“We’ve got to send a clear message to Russia and unify our allies,” Obama told a crowd of supporters in Virginia. “They can’t charge into other countries. Of course it helps if we are leading by example on that point.”

This is normal “progressive” thinking, and you find these bizarre assumptions everywhere in leftist circles: if we just achieve some noble ideal of behavior, that alone will be enough to usher in a new era of peace and global good will — and in the meantime, it’s important to let our adversaries know that we’re not perfect and we understand their feelings.

But not even Jimmy Carter was this starry-eyed.

Hot Air - Obama: We should probably stop setting examples for Russian aggression

I also loved this comment from Gateway Pundit reader IOpian (emphasis mine):
Well maybe for those that are unable to make the distinction of enforcing 17 UN mandates, toppling a tyrannical regime and liberating its people, that threatened and invaded its neighbors, that attempted to assassinate a former US President and sought to develop WMD [and] opposed the conquest for control of all oil supply to Europe. Then yeah it would appear to be no different.
How can this guy be anywhere near the lead in the polls to be America's next Commander and Chief (and defender against our enemies)? Truly mind-boggling that so many Americans are this naive...

John Hinderaker adds (emphasis mine):

So our "charging into" Iraq--with dozens of allies, supported by a U.N. resolution, as a last resort after six months of build-up and negotiations, to unseat one of the cruelest dictators of modern times who had twice invaded neighboring states, was in violation of more than a dozen U.N. resolutions and was responsible for the deaths of something like two million people, who was shooting at American aircraft and had tried to assassinate a former President of the United States, in Obama's childish mind, was just like Russia's "charging into" Georgia, which resembles Saddam's Iraq in no respect. And, of course, we invaded a horrifying charnel-house so as to establish a democracy, whereas Russia invaded a peaceful democracy that it wants to re-incorporate into its empire.

Is Obama an idiot? I don't think so, really. But one of the many problems with being a leftist is that it leads you to say lots of stupid things. Today, the Obama gaffe machine went into overdrive. By November, I suspect that most voters will have heard enough to know that Barack Obama is unqualified to be a middle-manager in a well-run company, let alone President of the United States.

Beautifully put. One can only hope this finally does get through--to even the most dense..

Ya know, this reminds me of something that James Lileks posted years ago, when the debate over the 02 resolution was raging in Congress, mockingly stating :

Hah! Hah. Just kidding. Of course he said nothing of the sort. Nor did Babbling Bobby, the Byrdman of Alcaspaz, or Rep. Barbara Lee. Ten gazillion questions that I’d like to hear posed and answered, and they babble on about our “go-it-alone” policy. How our “unprovoked” and “unilateral” attack would shatter the thick armor of international law and embolden every strong nation to pounce on its neighbor like a lion on a hobbled gazelle, how the Arab world would rise up en masse and pour into Al-Qaeda recruitment centers demanding the right to be blown up from planes flying 40,000 feet overhead, how our Valued Arab Allies would turn against us once we’d kicked their worst enemy off the planet, how it would be difficult to penetrate terrorist cells because they’d really be wary of accepting American members now, and how we would lose the high regard extended to us by the French and the Germans and every other country that wants to slap a Denver boot on our loathsome Juggernaut. Death, doom, despair, defeat - all because the United States is considering making a preemptive strike without UN approval.

Jeez, he must feel stupid these days.

CHENNY;

THANKS FOR REINFORCING THE FACT THAT LEFTIES CONSTANTLY MAKE FALSE MORAL EQUIVALENCES AND CONSTANTLY DENIGRATE THE USA.

IT'S IN YOUR CORE - AND OBAMA'S.

REMINDER, MORON:

So our "charging into" Iraq--with dozens of allies, supported by a U.N. resolution, as a last resort after six months of build-up and negotiations, to unseat one of the cruelest dictators of modern times who had twice invaded neighboring states, was in violation of more than a dozen U.N. resolutions and was responsible for the deaths of something like two million people, who was shooting at American aircraft and had tried to assassinate a former President of the United States, in Obama's childish mind, was just like Russia's "charging into" Georgia, which resembles Saddam's Iraq in no respect.

AND GEORGIA IS AN ALLY.

YOUR HATRED OF THE USA AND THE WEST IS SO GREAT THAT YOU FGAIL TO SEE OR FEEL THE DIFFERENCE.

BUT MOST AMERICANS LOVE THE USA AND OUR LIBERTY AND ARE WILLING TO HELP THEIR FELLOW HUMANS ACHIEVE THEIR HUMAN RIGHTS - AND PROTECT THEM.

PEOPLE LIKE JFK AND FDR.

YOU AND THE LEFT AND OBAMA - WHO FAIL TO SEE THE DIFFERENCE - MAKE ME PUKE.

YOU AND THE LEFT AND OBAMA ARE PUKE.

The point isn't about moral equivalence, its about the consequences of boneheaded foreign policy and how it effects geopolitics. But as expected, you make the dishonest leap that my (or Obamas) disagreement on policy and tactics constitutes "hating America". Grow up.
