"When it came time to make the most important foreign policy decision of our generation - the decision to invade Iraq - Hillary Clinton got it wrong."Obama's followers are thrilled at the fact - and Obama is most proud of the fact - that he opposed the war from the start.
I think he and his appeasing, left-wing, anti-military/dove base are wrong on Iraq. Here's why:
- If we'd done what Obama wanted, then Saddam would still be in power.
- And he'd have gone on killing tens of thousands of Kurds and Shias every year.
- And he'd still be sending hundreds of thousands of dollars to terrorists.
- And Zarqawi would be alive.
- And Saddam's sons would be alive.
- And his people would still be starving as he used the oil-for-food program to build himself palaces.
- And he'd still be firing on USA and UK jets everyday.
- And 20,000 jihadis - who went to Iraq to fight us and prevent Iraqis from having a democracy, would be alive and able to attack us and our allies somewhere else.
- And AQ Khan would still be selling nukes to rogue nations.
- And Libya would still have a WMD program - including nukes.
- And Iran wouldn't be surrounded.
- And now - just as the second phase of the war has also been won - (the first phase was against Saddam, the second against al Qaeda), and just as the Iraqis begin to make all the necessary political compromises and are just about ready to defend themselves... Obama would have us withdraw.
- PREMATURELY WITHDRAWING IS THE ONLY IRAQ POLICY MORE IMMORAL THAN US NOT HAVING FOUGHT AT ALL, THAN US SURRENDERING TO SADDAM'S DECEPTIONS AND FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THE UNSC RESOLUTIONS WHICH COMPRISED THE ARMISTICE FOR THE 1991 GULF WAR, AND LETTING HIM OFF THE HOOK.
- PREMATURELY WITHDRAWING WOULD JEOPARDIZE ALL THE GAINS WE'VE MADE AND NEGATE ALL THE SACRIFICES WE'VE MADE.
- HE'D PREFER IT IF WE HADN'T DONE WHAT WAS RIGHT & JUST FOR US TO DO, AND HAVING DONE IT... HE'D PULL THE PLUG BEFORE THE JOB IS DONE!
- TRULY, OBAMA'S IDEAS ON IRAQ PROVE HE IS UTTERLY MORALLY UNFIT TO BE POTUS.
