GREAT BRITAIN HAS THE MOST WINTRY EASTER IN FOUR DECADES

DAILY STAR:
SNOWSTORMS and icy conditions plunged Britain into the coldest Easter for over 40 years.

Blizzards made the holiday the first white Easter for a decade and caused travel chaos as 16 million hit the roads.

Up to 10cm of snow blanketed parts of the East Midlands and Lincolnshire as the wintry weather set in.

In some areas, the temperature struggled to rise above zero (32F). The average for the time of year is between 7C (44F) and 11C (52F).

And while many had fun in the snow, motorists were hit by chaos as millions headed home from their Easter breaks.
Satellite measurements available since 1979 show no warming in the southern hemisphere and the trend in the northern hemisphere appears to have waned since 2001.
