In NYC (as in most places these days) - because of the popularity of liberal/green policies and the mistaken idea that we are running out of resources and damaging our global climate, we recycle and sort garbage - as if landfills were full (which they aren't) and as if it saved energy and natural resources because we do, (which it doesn't). AND WE FLUSH OUR WASTE AWAY - (and that of our livestock).
We should be doing the exact opposite.
We should be dumping our garbage in landfills and collecting our waste to make into energy.
Just saying...
