17.02.2008 Al-Qaida terrorists spent time in NorwayThree Algerians connected to al-Qaida have been sentenced to six years in jail for planning terrorism in Italy. Two of them lived in Norway before they were arrested.
The two Algerians were in various periods under surveillance in Norway from 2004 and up to the time of their arrest in November 2005, Aftenposten reports.
Since 2001, European security services and the police have stopped well over 50 planned terrorist acts in Europe.
