NEW HAMPSHIRE IS A BIG PRIZE WHICH WILL CONFER A LOT OF MOMENTUM TO ONE OR TWO CANDIDATES.
IT CAN CAN ONLY BE WON BY ONE OF TWO LEADING CANDIDATES: MCCAIN OR MITT.
AS A CONSERVATIVE, I WOULD RATHER SEE MITT WIN. AND HERE'S WHY:

It's simple: McCain is a GREAT hawk, but NO CONSERVATIVE.
McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts, and was the key fella behind campaign finance reform and the unsuccessful effort to give illegal immigrants amnesty. He also is a follower of Al Gore and his Church of man-made global warming.
REPEAT: McCain is no conservative.
SO... to stop McCain FROM WINNING NH, the conservatives need to unite behind one guy - the one guy with a chance in NH, and that's Mitt.
It ain't Fred. It ain't Hunter.
And Rudy and Hucksterbee are not so conservative either.
Maybe the southern conservatives can reject Mitt and vote for Fred - BUT WE GOTTA GET THERE FIRST.
That's why I want New Hampshire conservatives to vote Mitt.
NOW... as far as Mitt being a phony or a flip-flopper: I JUST DON'T BUY IT!
I say people change their views and do become more conservative.
I DID. I was once a leftie pro-choice dove. Now I am a conservative pro-life hawk.
Mitt changed too.
AS DID REAGAN.
Remember, Reagan was an FDR Democrat lib until 1964!
It would have been unfair to call Reagan a flip-flopper in 1964 - when he endorsed Goldwater and gave the speech - (RENDEZVOUS WITH DESTINY) - which made him the leader of the conservative movement and eventually made him president.
It would be wrong to quote a speech given by liberal Reagan in 1948 and compare it to the conservative Reagan in 1964 (or later) and call him a phony.
BUT THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE DOING TO MITT.
They're looking at speeches he gave in 1992, and saying he's STILL a lib.
But we don't have to look at his old speeches.
Mitt has a record of governing.
And Mitt governed as a conservative.
And his extraordinary leadership and management skills in private enterprise make him an ideal protector of the freemarket -and individual liberty.
