The US army said Wednesday it has positively identified the body of Al-Qaeda leader in northern Baghdad.WE'RE WINNING. WE'RE ACTUALLY KICKING AL QAEDA'S ASS.
In a press release, the army said the terrorist, Th'ir Malik was killed during a raid on November five in northern Baghdad's Al-Tarmiyah town.
In charge of 120 Al-Qaeda elements, "Malik was a subordinate of Abu Ghazwan, the Al-Qaeda in Iraq senior leader of the northern belt and direct associate of Abu Ayyub al-Masri," noted the army.
It added "This was a dangerous terrorist who is no longer part of the al-Qaeda in Iraq network."
WILL SOMEONE PLEASE TELL REID AND PELOSI TO STFU.

This post reminds me of a scene in The Killing Fields, when a US advisor is explaining the crumbling situation to a Cambodian officer. The Cambodian officer asks, "Am I winning?", and the American officer tells him in a condescending voice, "No, you're not winning."
That is the case with this post. I remember when I was still in the States and it seemed like every few months they killed "Zarqawi's right hand man". Seeing as how this happened about 8 times, we must conclude that Zarqawi had at least 8 right arms. Who knows how many left ones.
Of course this is moot since the bulk of Iraqi insurgents aren't Al Qaeda, and never were. Most are former Baathists or just plain Iraqi nationalists. Even Zarqawi wasn't a friend of Bin Laden and Al Qaeda for a while. Al Qaeda in Iraq has always been a minority.
So no, the US is not "winning". It will not "win", it will continue to spend billions of dollars on a war initiated under false pretexts, for reasons other than those it stated(democracy), and eventually the US debt will pile up with enough bodies to finally wreck the US as a military power.
Then we'll have to deal either with China or the EU as the next dominant empire, so long as the capitalist system continues to operate without an alternative.
