Of course - as everyone has pointed out, his means that the Dems will have to move the goalposts again.
I HAVE A SUGGESTION: Maybe it's time Bush moved the goalposts... TO TEHRAN!
Seriously: WHAT WILL THE DEFEATOCRATS WHINE ABOUT NOW!?!
Clyborn was right: they're in BIG TROUBLE.

Iraq Sunnis Say Deal Won't End BoycottSHEESH: YOU COULDN'T POSSIBLY PUT IT IN A MORE NEGATIVE LIGHT. IF THIS ISN'T BIASED, THEN NOTHING IS.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A new political accord between Iraq's main Sunni Arab, Shi'ite and Kurdish leaders will not be enough to lure boycotting Sunni Arabs back into the government, a spokesman for the biggest Sunni Arab bloc said on Monday.

If this holds up, the President Bush will look mighty good in the light of history when this is all over.
Remember it wasn't long ago that nearly every in congress, including members of the Republican Leadership had written the IRAQ government and the war off.
Everyone, except one, the one that counted, President Bush.
I'd wait for these eggs to actually hatch before counting your chickens, were I you...

Wow - I make a simple post alluding to the fact that it is terribly premature to be worrying about what the "defeatocrats" will be worrying about next, and all of a sudden I am "rooting for the enemy". Project much?
I've heard all too often about political breakthroughs that then either failed to pass parliament or to deliver the promised results to believe anything at such an early stage.
As some sage once said, "Fool me once, shame on -- shame on you. Fool me -- you can't get fooled again."
1 - YES: i am rooting for them succeed.
2 - i did note that it is not an accomplished fact.
you sound like you are not.
CHIN UP!
be positive.
hope for the best!
and also: keep iraq's struggle in historical context: it takes a long time to establish a democracy.
but with resolve/perseverance - it can be done.
in iraq's case success is VERY important to the world.
let's keep pressure on them, but let's be realistic about them.
and the enemy.
it was easier to take down the wtc than to build it.
the 19 jihadists who took it down could never have built it - or even maintained it.
ditto democracy.
it's a tough structure to build.
let's not give in to the jihadists who want to take it down.
