SOUNDS LIKE THE ABBAS REGIME IS TOUGHER ON HAMAS THAN BUSH

HAARETZ:
Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayad delivered a stern warning Thursday to hundreds of Islamic preachers, including Hamas supporters, saying his government will not tolerate incitement in mosques.

Fayad's warning also included his government's intentions to collect all weapons from Palestinian militants.

Fayad's meeting with some 800 Muslim clergy marked the latest attempt to stem the influence of Hamas in the West Bank, following the goup's violent takeover of Gaza earlier this month. ...

In his meeting with clergymen Thursday, Fayad was accompanied by Abbas' top security official, Interior Minister Abdel Razak Yehiyeh. "We will collect weapons and replace them with pens and books," the minister told the crowd. "The phenomenon of militants is very dangerous, and we want to stop it in all forms."

Fayad told the preachers to take politics out of their sermons. "We won't allow them (mosques) to be turned into places of incitement and intimidation," he said. "It's the responsibility of men of religion to ... present religion as a way of tolerance, not as a cover for bloodshed."
MEANWHILE, BUSH GOT HIS NOSE BROWN WHILE CODDLING JIAHDO-TERRORIST ENABLERS AND PROMISING TO SEND AN ENVOY TO THE OIC. FROM LGF:
Terrorism expert Steve Emerson is just as dismayed by President Bush’s pandering to radicals at the Islamic Center of Washington DC as I am: Radical Outreach.
The President’s idea of an envoy who will “learn” from the Organization of the Islamic Conference is simply ludicrous.

At Wednesday’s rededication ceremony of the Saudi-funded Islamic Center of Washington, D.C., President Bush missed a perfect opportunity to repudiate apologism for radical Islam, and instead announced his latest plan to get the Muslim world to stop hating America: appoint a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).

Bush praised the OIC, saying, “We admire and thank those Muslims who have denounced what the Secretary General of the OIC called ‘radical fringe elements who pretend that they act in the name of Islam.’” The special envoy’s mission, Bush said, would be to “listen and learn” to OIC ambassadors.

While this may sound nice, it is rooted in complete ignorance of the rampant radicalism, pro-terrorist, and anti-American sentiments routinely found in statements by the OIC and its leaders, including referring to “Islamophobia” — and not the mass slaughter of innocents in the name of Islam — the “worst form of terrorism,” as OIC did last May.

In 2002, the OIC published its “Declaration on International Terrorism.” Therein, the authors stated, amongst other outrageous claims, that there was no such thing as Palestinian terrorism, writing, “We reject any attempt to associate Islamic states or Palestinian and Lebanese resistance with terrorism.” To the OIC, groups like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade, and Hezbollah are not terrorists, but “freedom fighters.”
I THINK BUSH SHOULD BE AT LEAST AS TOUGH ON THE JIHADO-THUGS AS ABBAS.

RIGHT NOW, THIS AND SHAMENSTY MAKES ME SICK WITH DISGUST WITH BUSH.

I WOULD NEVER EVER VOTE FOR HIM AGAIN - UNLESS HE RAN AGAINST GORE OR KERRY. OR ANY OTHER DEMOCRAT!

HEY YOU OUT THERE: LET'S NOMINATE SOMEONE BETTER THAN BUSH!

LET'S NOMINATE FRED THOMPSON.
