OLDHAM CHRONICLE: Hearing aid delay disgust

Urgent action is needed to clear a half-million backlog of patients waiting for new hearing aids on the NHS.

The House of Commons Health Committee said not enough priority had been given to the supply of new-style digital hearing aids by the Government or local primary care trusts.

In Oldham, new patients who need a first digital hearing aid wait 18 weeks — seven for assessment and a further 11 for fitting.

IF TAXPAYER-FINANCED/UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE DOESN'T WORK THERE, THEN WHY SHOULD WE DO IT HERE!? IT MAKES NO SENSE. YET THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE FOR THE PRESIDENCY WANTS TO DO HERE.
