LATEST ASININE AGW FEARMONERING: NORTHERN RE-FORESTATION INCREASES GLOBAL WARMING - or: CAN CHRISTO SAVE THE WORLD!?

Planting trees in snowy areas may worsen global warming as their canopies absorb sunlight which would otherwise be reflected by the snow, a study says. ... Only tropical forests effectively cool the earth by absorbing carbon dioxide and creating clouds, the report says.

SHEESH.

I WONDER IS SOLAR CELLS/COLLECTORS INCREASE GLOBAL WARMING!?! OR BLACK ROOFING MATERIAL!? OR PEOPLE WITH DARK HATS!? OR PEOPLE WITH DARK HAIR!?

A few months ago I suggested that if the AGW/CO2 crowd were REALLY serious and if the REALLY BELIEVED their disastrous predictions, that they would endorse a proven method to dramatically INCREASE CO2 sequestration - even if it seemed drastic: CUT ALL THE OLD FORESTS OFF THE WORLD AND RE-PLANT THEM WITH YOUNG TREES. (It is a proven fact of science that young/growing trees sequester more CO2 than old trees - NO MATTER WHERE THEY GROW.)

The Left would NEVER support this because the Leftist eco-nutsie AGW crowd is not as interested in "saving the planet" as they are USING AGW HYSTERIA to "sell" their old shopworn socialist policies.

This latest admonition from them - that dark-leafed trees in northern climes increase global warming - is another example of socialism's tendency to micromanage; I can see it coming: you can plant this kind of tree here and get a tax break, or plant that kind of tree there and pay a tax surcharge.

HEY: Why not just get CHRISTO drape the northernmost parts of the industrialized north hemisphere with white fabric to reflect the sun's light? I betchya we could get the Left to support this inane idea if we said we would also pass GLOBAL TAX to pay for it and maintain it.

WELL, AT LEAST THIS LATEST CRACKPOT THEORY PLACES A LOT OF VALUE IN THE SUN'S DIRECT EFFECT ON GLOBAL WARMING, AND DE-EMPHASIZES MAN-MADE CO2. We should be grateful for small things!
