The Romanian President Traian Basescu has promised that his troops will not abandon Iraq, "because it's a dishonor to leave your allies." It hasn't been that long since a murderous maniac ruled Romania. President Basescu promises:
"We have an obligation to the Iraqi people. We will leave when the local authorities can provide security for the people," he said.
The Romanian contingent is small, but numbers are not always the most important thing. (Hat tip: A Jacksonian, via Gateway.)
