ROADMAP "QUARTET" WARNS PALESTINIAN ARABS THAT JIHADOTERRORISTS CAN'T BE IN GOVERNMENT

AP/Haaretz:
The four international supporters of the Middle East peace process said Wednesday that the next Palestinian Cabinet should not include members of Hamas or other militant groups committed to violence.

The statement by the so-called quartet did not name Hamas, but said a future Palestinian Cabinet "should include no member who has not committed to the principles of Israel's right to exist in peace and security and an unequivocal end to violence and terrorism."
The quartet, which has drafted a Middle East peace plan known as the road map, includes the United States, the United Nations, the European Union and Russia.
I AM PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THIS STATEMENT - ESPECIALLY TAKEN WITH THE NEWS BELOW ABOUT LEBANON'S CONDEMNATION OF THE HIZB'ALLAH ATTACKS ON ISRAEL.

The ball is in the Palestinian Arabs' court. Will Abbas make like his mentor Arafat and snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, or will he rise to the occassion and challenge Hamas and the other jihadoterrorist groups to disarm? He has done nothing to date which makes me optimistic. But maybe this statement from the Quartet will encourage him?

I submit that the Israelis and the Quartet as a whole, have informed Abbas that he will not be another Arafat- allowed to remain in power indefintely, without a real comittment to getting the job done.

The Lebanese are finally getting their just desserts. Al Qaeda claimed responsibility for the missiles- no one will fault the Israelis for going after them. The Lebanese have made clear their opinion of Al Qaeda.

That said, I don't believe it was Al Qaeda, of course, but rather, it was Hizbollah. If Hizbollah gets flattened by the Israelis, oh well....

The Lebanese are panicking, trying to make Hizbollah appear 'civilized.' Read the Daily Star, for example.

They have to- they don't want another civil war- and that is exactly what Hizbollah will give Beirut, if they don't back off.

Oh, the tangled webs we weave...

SCA:

hizb'Allah or alQaeda - it makes little difference which is ordering/carrying out the attacks. a jihadoterrorist is a jihadoterrorist. period.

iran is the head of the beast; (sure: there are saudi princes incolved, but not the ones in charge).

hizb' will do what it can/has to to help iran (and syria): try to ignite an arab-israeli war to stop the US from squeezing assad or the mullahs too hard.(as syria uses alQ in iraq.)

the board - to use a chess metaphor - is very complicated, and as we approack the "endgame" many pieces are in play. some pieces we take inn bold moves - afghnaistan and iraq. we will ALSO force the enemy to sacrifice many pieces. like we did to MUSHARRAF and KADDAFY and AQKHAN and the SYRAIN OCCUPATION.

Israel's withdrawal was a voluntary sacrifice of a piece - one which makes our defesnes much MUCH better.

especially in any attempot at an overwhelming count-counter-measure by iran and syria and hamas and hizb'Allah --- which i expect AFTER we preemptively take out the iran nuke program. NEXT WINTER.
