ANOTHER OF BHO'S APPOINTEES: OTIS MOSS, JR.

It seems that BHO is not moving too far away from Jeremiah Wright after all, at least in his theological views.

Earlier this month, he appointed Otis Moss, Jr., to the President's Advisory Council, part of the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

This article in the Weekly Standard notes some interesting facts about Otis Moss, Jr:
...Otis Moss Jr. and Wright shared a mentor in Samuel DeWitt Proctor, who helped give rise to black liberation theology. In fact, it was the radical Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference that sponsored Wright's now-infamous National Press Club appearance in late April 2008--which led to Obama's break with Trinity and Wright. Less noted was the fact that the symposium's guest preacher that day was Reverend Otis Moss Jr. Moss has publicly defended Wright and compared his preaching to that of Amos, Micah, Malachi, and John the Baptist.

Moss's closeness to Wright is expressed most clearly in the 40-minute tribute sermon he preached from Trinity's pulpit on the occasion of Wright's 36th anniversary at the church in February 2008.

Of Wright, Reverend Moss said: "All of us who know him and love him have been blessed by his genius, his creativity, his scholarship, his discipleship, his sensitivity as an artist, his boldness as a prophet, and, I agree, his rhythmic poetry." This homage came long after Wright's hit parade of sound-bites: "God Damn America" .  .  . "America's chickens are coming home to roost" .  .  . "Bill did us like he did Monica Lewinsky."...

... He is a political preacher and has said, "If you are preaching a gospel that has nothing about politics, nothing about economics, nothing about sociology, you are preaching an empty gospel with a cap and shoes but no body to it."...

[...]

... [B]y appointing Moss, Obama has given him the imprimatur of the White House and a position from which to help shape public policy. While Moss and other members of the faith-based President's Advisory Council aren't paid, they are entitled to public funds for travel costs, per-diem expenses, and support staff. They can hold hearings and form task forces. And of course, they can guide the work of Obama's faith-based office as it directs public funding to religious and community groups.

[...]

By tapping the likes of Moss to help steer his faith-based policies, Obama could be using the White House to "translate the energy" of black churches into "creating lasting institutions" of left-wing political agitation. A look at the other members of the advisory council certainly supports this interpretation.

Vashti McKenzie is another proponent of black liberation theology, and another friend and defender of Jeremiah Wright who has preached at Trinity United. Jim Wallis also publicly supported Wright and has even been an inspiration to the reverend. In his National Press Club speech, Wright quoted Wallis as saying "America's sin of racism has never even been confessed, much less repented for." In an earlier life, Wallis once said he hoped "more Christians will come to view the world through Marxist eyes."

In recent years he has settled for working through congressional Democrats, helping them make their policies more palatable to people of faith. Wallis has been joined in that task by Rabbi David Saperstein--another prominent liberal and member of the new faith-based advisory council. The council looks like nothing so much as an attempt to build a powerful political grassroots network to advance the liberal causes dear to Obama's heart.

The ironic humor in the whole thing is that back when it was President Bush's White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, Moss warned other pastors:
Sometimes the king will call you up even out of your dungeon and ask: "Is there any word from the Lord?" .  .  . If we are tied to the stuff of the king, it is difficult to tell the president--or the king [laughter]--it's difficult. .  .  . It's difficult if you are tied to a "faith-based grant" [more laughter] and your whole sustaining budget is contingent upon the next appropriation. When the question comes up, "Is there any word from the Lord?" you might have to say, "Wait, let me check with the board. Let me check with the budget committee."
Now that he is in a position to shape where those faith-based grants go, one suspects Moss will be singing a different tune.
Is Otis Moss, Jr., a sort of Wright redux?

In any case, Moss now has the ear of BHO. What will this black-liberation theologian whisper into the ear of the President of the United States?

The Moment of Truth for the Left has Arrived

Excerpt:

If you haven't listened to Jeremiah Wright's hate sermons at Hugh Hewitt's website, you must do so. Every American with open eyes and ears has to listen to the voice of racial hatred, coming not from the Klan but from a clergyman of the Christian Left. Reading his words isn't enough, because you won't hear the unmistakable meaning of his vocal intonations. If you are a person of good will you will feel upset. But it's of the utmost importance to understand this moment of truth.

Because Jeremiah Wright -- the respectful word "Reverend" seems grotesquely out of place now -- is shouting out the slander catechism of the Left. His sermons say exactly what other Leftists say in calm voices, over and over again. Mr. Wright just does it with real, raw hatred, and every new slam is cheered on by his jubilant congregation. His is not a lone voice. He just sings the music to fit the words.

We have been nursing a viper in our national bosom. Seven years after September 11, 2001, this is the moment of truth, when the Left must finally decide what side it's on. Wright's sermons may signal the end of the Obama campaign, and they may mean the breakup of the Democratic Party as we know it. I don't see how any centrist Democrat can still belong to this party if Obama is its nominee. Jeremiah Wright may mean the historical end of the Civil Rights Era, because fifty years after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Left's presumption of victimhood and innocence is now gone.

The Rev is only the visible bulge of this lethal political tumor. This is Saul Alinsky's sociopathic teachings on display, and this is what Hillary Clinton learned back at Wellesley College. It is the voice of feminists who hate all men, and of radicalized blacks who hate all whites.

Hate mongers collect injustices. If you and I did that, we could collect an endless laundry list about all the bad things somebody did to us. Maybe we have been hurt by men, or by women. Maybe we have been hurt by rich people, or by the angry poor. Maybe we have been hurt by Jews or blacks or whites, and we can put all our built-up rage on their heads. It's been done many times in the human past; that's exactly the psychology we see at work in Africa, the former Yugoslavia, Sri Lanka, and various Muslim nations (among others), when explosive massacres take place. Mob psychology has been manipulated by demagogues throughout history. This is simply the another version of the Kluxers and Jim Crow lynch mobs. Today I see that psychology clearly enough on the Left, but outside of the ranting rooms of verifiable paranoids I don't see it many other places in this country....

For Jeremiah Wright, the enemy comes with a white skin. He has taken historical injustices and turned them into a lifelong call for vengeance. This is the official doctrine of Black Liberation Theology, and it is freely supported by powerful institutions on the religious Left. BLT's founder, Dr. Jim Cone, is a professor of systematic theology at the Union Theological Seminary. It's utterly bizarre but true.

So the entire American body politic has a festering sore on its hands. This will not go away by itself. It will not be bought off by more money. It must be repudiated by the sensible Left, if it is still there. Just as William F. Buckley denounced the anti-Semites on the right, and sensible Americans rejected segregation and the Klan, just as American unions expelled Stalinist unions from the AFL-CIO, the time has come for the decent Left to draw a bright line in the sand, and keep the hate mongers out.

JEREMIAH WRIGHT WAS ONCE A MUSLIM

Very interesting revelation about Barack Obama's prejudiced pastor: Infidels Are Cool has discovered that Jeremiah Wright was formerly a Muslim himself. From this old article by Ryan Lizza in The New Republic:
From Wright and others, Obama learned that part of his problem as an organizer was that he was trying to build a confederation of churches but wasn’t showing up in the pews on Sunday. When pastors asked him the inevitable questions about his own spiritual life, Obama would duck them uncomfortably. A Reverend Philips put the problem to him squarely when he learned that Obama didn’t attend services. “It might help your mission if you had a church home,” he told Obama. “It doesn’t matter where, really. What you’re asking from pastors requires us to set aside some of our more priestly concerns in favor of prophesy. That requires a good deal of faith on our part. It makes us want to know just where you’re getting yours from.”

After many lectures like this, Obama decided to take a second look at Wright’s church. Older pastors warned him that Trinity was for “Buppies”–black urban professionals–and didn’t have enough street cred. But Wright was a former Muslim and black nationalist who had studied at Howard and Chicago, and Trinity’s guiding principles–what the church calls the “Black Value System”–included a “Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.’”

The crosscurrents appealed to Obama. He came to believe that the church could not only compensate for the limitations of Alinsky-style organizing but could help answer the nagging identity problem he had come to Chicago to solve. “It was a powerful program, this cultural community,” he wrote, “one more pliant than simple nationalism, more sustaining than my own brand of organizing.”

As a result, over the years, Wright became not only Obama’s pastor, but his mentor. The title of Obama’s recent book, The Audacity of Hope, is based on a sermon by Wright. (It’s worth noting, however, that, while Obama’s book is a coolheaded appeal for common ground in an age of political polarization, Wright’s sermon, “The Audacity to Hope,” is a fiery jeremiad about persevering in a world of nuclear arms and racial inequality.) Wright is one of the first people Obama thanked after his Senate victory in 2004, and he recently name-checked Wright in his speech to civil rights leaders in Selma, Alabama.
This raises a lot of interesting questions, such as - could it be that Wright is still more than attached to Islam despite his ostensibly converting? Good question.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS A LIAR

This is the first in a short series of posts in which I want to make a few simple observations about Barack [middle name redacted] Obama.

In order to keep it simple, I am going to post one proof of one observation in each post.

To begin with, so we all know with what we are dealing, Barack Obama is a LIAR.

In a post he put up at Ariana Huffington's site, Obama made this claim:
The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation.
That statement is a baldfaced lie. Barack Obama was well aware of Jeremiah Wright's potty-mouth anti-American ranting during the 22 years he has been an active member of that Church.

The proof comes from an article the New Duranty Times published over a year ago, reporting that Obama had decided to dis-invite Wright from the announcement of his candidacy for the Presidency. And why did he do that? The Times reported:

Mr. Wright said that in the phone conversation in which Mr. Obama disinvited him from a role in the announcement, Mr. Obama cited an article in Rolling Stone, “The Radical Roots of Barack Obama.”

According to the pastor, Mr. Obama then told him, “You can get kind of rough in the sermons, so what we’ve decided is that it’s best for you not to be out there in public.” [Emphasis added.]

Barack Obama has known all along what Jeremiah Wright preaches. And he knew it would be damaging to his campaign.

To claim otherwise is just a stupid schoolboyish lie.

Let me give you more evidence. (Hat tip: Rocco DiPippo.) Back in August, 2007, reporter Jim Davis visited Obama's church. This is what he witnessed:

Wright laced into America's establishment, blaming the "white arrogance" of America's Caucasian majority for the woes of the world, especially the oppression suffered by blacks. To underscore the point he refers to the country as the "United States of White America." Many in the congregation, including Obama, nodded in apparent agreement as these statements were made.

The sermon also addressed the Iraq war, a frequent area of Wright's fulminations.

"Young African-American men," Wright thundered, were "dying for nothing." The "illegal war," he shouted, was "based on Bush's lies" and is being "fought for oil money."

In a sermon filled with profanity, Wright also blamed the war on "Bush administration bulls--t."

Senator Barack [middle name redacted] Obama sat in the congregation and nodded his agreement as Wright preached "a sermon filled with profanity" in which he blamed the woes of the world on American white people. Obama nodded his agreement.

And now he has the audacity to claim that "
The statements that Rev. Wright made that are the cause of this controversy were not statements I personally heard him preach while I sat in the pews of Trinity or heard him utter in private conversation." That's audacity!

And for lagniappe, let me add that to make his lying disclaimer in a statement on the Huffington Post, instead of facing the press, shows you that in addition to being a liar, Obama is also a coward.

No matter how much money Tony Rezko and George Soros donate to his campaign, Americans are not going to elect a lying coward as President. Not now, not in 2012, not never.

Note about Obama from a black Christian

Obama needs to be commended for his accomplishments but I need to explain why I will not be voting for him..

Many of my friends process their identity through their blackness. I process my identity through Christ. Being a Christian (a Christ follower) means He leads I follow. I can't dictate the terms He does because He is the leader. I can't vote black because I am black, I have to vote Christian because that's who I am. Christian first, black second. Neither should anyone from the other ethnic groups vote because of ethnicity. 200 years from now I won't be asked if I was black or white. I will be asked if I knew Jesus and accepted Him as Lord and Savior.

In an election there are many issues to consider but when a society gets abortion, same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research, human cloning to name a few, wrong economic concerns will soon not matter. We need to follow Martin Luther King's words, don't judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

I don't know Obama so all I can go off is his voting record. His voting record earned him the title of the most liberal senator in the US Senate in 2007. NATIONAL JOURNAL: Obama: Most Liberal Senator in 2007 (01/31/2008) To beat Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton as the most liberal senator, takes some doing. Obama accomplished this feat in 2 short years. I wonder what would happen to America if he had four years to work with.

There is a reason planned parenthood gives him a 100 % rating. There is a reason the homosexual community supports him. There is a reason Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Castro, Hamas etc. love him. There is a reason he said he would nominate liberal judges to the Supreme Court. There is a reason he voted against the infanticide bill. There is a reason he voted No on the constitutional ban of same-sex marriage. There is a reason he voted No on banning partial birth abortion. There is a reason he voted No on confirming Justices Roberts and Alito.

These two judges are conservatives and they have since overturned partial birth abortion. The same practice Obama wanted to continue. Lets take a look at the practice he wanted to continue. The 5 Step Partial Birth Abortion procedure: A. Guided by ultrasound, the abortionist grabs the baby's leg with forceps. (Remember this is a live baby) B. The baby's leg is pulled out into the birth canal. C. The abortionist delivers the baby's entire body, except for the head. D. The abortionist jams scissors into the baby's skull. The scissors are then opened to enlarge the hole. E. The scissors are removed and a suction catheter is inserted. The child's brains are sucked out, causing the skull to collapse. The dead baby is then removed. God help him.

There is a reason Obama opposed the parental notification law. Think about this: you can't give a kid an aspirin without parental notification but that same kid can have an abortion without parental notification. This is insane.

There is a reason he went to Jeremiah Wright's church for 20 years. Obama tells us he has good judgment but he sat under Jeremiah Wright teaching for 20 years. Now he is condemning Wright's sermons. I wonder why now? Obama said Jeremiah Wright led him to the Lord and discipled him. A disciple is one in training. Jesus told us in Matthew 28:19 - 20 'Go and make disciples of all nations.' This means reproduce yourself. Teach people to think like you, walk like you, talk like you believe what you believe etc.

The question I have is what did Jeremiah Wright teach him? Would you support a White President who went to a church which has tenets that said they have a 1. Commitment to the White Community 2. Commitment to the White Family 3. Adherence to the White Work Ethic 4. Pledge to make the fruits of all developing and acquired skills available to the White Community . 5. Pledge to Allocate Regularly, a Portion of Personal Resources for Strengthening and Supporting White Institutions 6. Pledge allegiance to all White leadership who espouse and embrace the White Value System 7. Personal commitment to embracement of the White Value System.

Would you support a President who went to a church like that? Just change the word from white to black and you have the tenets of Obama's former church. If President Bush was a member of a church like this, he would be called a racist. Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton would have been marching outside. This kind of church is a racist church. Obama did not wake up after 20 years and just discovered he went to a racist church.

The church can't be about race. Jesus did not come for any particular race. He came for the whole world. A church can't have a value system based on race. The church's value system has to be based on biblical mandate. It does not matter if it's a white church or a black church it's still wrong. Anyone from either race that attends a church like this would never get my vote.

Obama's former Pastor Jeremiah Wright is a disciple of liberal theologian James Cone, author of the 1970 book A Black Theology of Liberation. Cone once wrote: 'Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. Cone is the man Obama's mentor looks up to. Does Obama believe this?

So what does all this mean for the nation? In the past when the Lord brought someone with the beliefs of Obama to lead a nation it meant one thing - judgment. Read 1 Samuel 8 when Israel asked for a king. First God says in 1 Samuel 1:9 'Now listen to them; but warn them solemnly and let them know what the king who will reign over them will do.' Then God says 1 Samuel 1:18 ' When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, and the LORD will not answer you in that day.' 19 But the people refused to listen to Samuel. 'No!' they said. 'We want a king over us. 20 Then we will be like all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our battles.' 21 When Samuel heard all that the people said, he repeated it before the LORD. 22 The LORD answered, 'Listen to them and give them a king.'

Here is what we know for sure. God is not schizophrenic He would not tell one person to vote for Obama and one to vote for McCain. As the scripture says, a city divided against itself cannot stand, so obviously many people are not hearing from God.. Maybe I am the one not hearing but I know God does not change and Obama contradicts many things I read in scripture so I doubt it.

For all my friends who are voting for Obama can you really look God in the face and say; Father based on your word, I am voting for Obama even though I know he will continue the genocidal practice of partial birth abortion. He might have to nominate three or four supreme court justices, and I am sure he will be nominating liberal judges who will be making laws that are against you. I also know he will continue to push for homosexual rights, even though you destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah for this. I know I can look the other way because of the economy. I could not see Jesus agreeing with many of Obama's positions.

Finally I have two questions for all my liberal friends. Since we know someone's value system has to be placed on the nation, 1. Whose value system should be placed on the nation? 2. Who should determine that this is the right value system for the nation?

Blessings, Huntley Brown

Democratic convention chooses nutcase to lead them

Her blackness makes her wise, apparently

The woman commissioned by the Democratic Party to direct its presidential nominating convention in two weeks espouses the same black liberation theology pursued by Rev. Jeremiah Wright, whose church presumptive nominee Barack Obama was forced to leave because of its controversies. Those included Wright's condemnation of America and a vicious attack on Hillary Clinton from the pulpit, and WND reported when, finally, the Obama campaign announced the candidate resigned his 20-year membership in the church.

Now a profile in the New York Times reveals Rev. Leah Daughtry, a Pentecostal minister who leads a congregation of 20 [Big time!] in Washington, embraces "black liberation theology" beliefs such as the "debt" the U.S. "owes" all blacks for slavery.

The Times describes the congregation in which Daughtry was raised - the House of the Lord Church in Brooklyn, N.Y., where generations of family members, including her father Herbert Daughtry, have preached for decades: "Below the sanctuary, in the fellowship hall, a banner for slavery reparations proclaimed, 'They Owe Us.' Fliers recounted Herbert Daughtry's arrest, a few weeks earlier, as he led marchers protesting the not-guilty verdict in the police killing of Sean Bell, an unarmed black man. His ministry has always combined consuming spirituality with black liberation theology - the theology Jeremiah Wright invoked this spring to defend his controversial sermons - and zealous political activism. Leah holds these forces within her."

Judi McLeod, a former Toronto Sun columnist, opined it will be "Rev. Jeremiah Wright in a skirt" as Daughtry leads the Democratic National Convention in Denver. "While the media hounded Wright for his anti-American rants and while presidential hopeful Sen. Barack Hussein Obama divorced him as his personal pastor, Obama's head will be crowned by Leah Daughtry, who ardently believes in the same Marxist 'Black Liberation Theology' preached by Wright," McLeod wrote on Canada Free Press.

When Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, announced Daughtry's appointment to the post of convention CEO, he cited her "strong guidance, skilled leadership and counsel."

More here

What a lot of bulldust that last bit is. "Leadership"? She leads only 20 people! She is a failure by church standards. It is another example of the Leftist faith in verbal magic. They think that you can alter the reality by fooling around with the words used to describe it. Angry white men have given her good jobs but that says more about the stupidity of anger than it says about her

THEN AND NOW

The left wing of the media and the blogosphere has gotten a little carried away by Barack's defense of his mentor, Jeremiah Wright. We've heard some commentators who think that Barack's speech is the most moving American oration since the days of Dr. Marin Luther King, Jr. We don't think Barack -- or his mentor -- hold a candle to the brilliance that preceded them.

But don't believe me, judge for yourself.

Then - the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr:

And now, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright:

Even to put Wright's video in the same post with Dr. King's is too much.

And Wright's disciple, Senator Barack [middle name redacted] Obama, is going to bring American together?

Face it, as John Derbyshire said today at the Corner:

Having slept on the matter, I am now going to come out of the closet and declare clearly and firmly that I don't like Barack Obama one little bit.

What kind of person would traduce his grandmother (who is still alive) to score a political point? Yesterday's speech, read through in the clear light of dawn, is worse than I thought: an ugly mish-mash of ancient socialist clichés and Gen-X spoiled-brat self-congratulation, all enveloped in clouds of flatulent Oprahnian rhetoric. Ugh!

Obama's just a red-diaper baby with a nice smile. I actually like Jeremiah Wright better than I like Obama. At least you know where you are with Wright. Obama, I wouldn't trust to mail a letter.

Don't think so? Just watch him in action:

Rev. Jeremiah Wright's 'War on Iraq IQ Test'

Jeremiah Wright has two fundamental problems. First, he believes the world economy is a zero-sum game (hint: it ain't. See The Economic Zero-Sum Fallacy). Second, he buys into the conventional leftist moral equivalence argument. That is, there's no distinction between good and evil.

In 2003, Wright published the following quiz. It could have been written by a member of Hamas.

41. Q: How many UN resolutions did Israel violate by 1992?
A: Over 65

42. Q: How many UN resolutions on Israel did America veto between 1972 and 1990?
A: 30+

43. Q: How much does the U.S. fund Israel a year?
A:$5 billion

44. Q: How many countries are known to have nuclear weapons?
A: 8

45. Q: How many nuclear warheads has Iraq got [sic]?
A: 0

47. Q: Which is the only country to use nuclear weapons?
A: the US

[Ed: Wright obviously needs a history lesson. Perhaps he could read about the millions of lives saved by ending the war before Operation Olympic]

48. Q: How many nuclear warheads does Israel have?
A: Over 400

49. Q: Has Israel every [sic] allowed UN weapon inspections?
A: No

50. Q: What percentage of the Palestinian territories are controlled by Israeli settlements?
A: 42%

51. Q: Is Israel illegally occupying Palestinian land?
A: Yes

52. Q: Which country do you think poses the greatest threat to global peace: Iraq or the U.S.?
A: ????

Make that three fundamental problems. Wright also visited Libya, one of the poorest countries on Earth -- with Louis Farrakhan, an acknowledged racist and hater -- in order to schmooze with terrorist Muamar Gaddafi.

Gaddafi, you'll recall, ordered the attack on Pan Am 103. A Libyan bomb hidden in a suitcase exploded aboard the flight and killed 270 people. Among the dead were entire families and many children, toddlers and babies:

Wright's support of Gaddafi, Farrakhan and his hateful statements are signs of a serious problem for Obama.

Wright is provably a racist; a hater; and a despicable, divisive figure. That Obama claims not to have known of Wright's background is ludicrous. He must think we're as stupid as the Clintons assume we are.

GOD DAMN OBAMA

The big story is that the man who converted Obama, and married him, is an anti-American racist who preaches hatred of whites and America.

He actually preached from the pulpit that God should Damn America and that we should ding that instead of God Bless America. [See below!]

On Christmas.

Obama subscribes to this view or he would've left the church long ago.

NEED MORE PROOF?

Michele Obama sounds awfully like the pastor.

It all fits on with the fact that Obama won't wear a flag-pin, and won't put his hand over his heart during the playing of our National Anthem.

If Obama wants to prove he is NOT a racist who hates America, then he can condemn the pastor and leave the Church immediately.

If he doesn't condemn the pastor, then Obama can go to God-damned Hell as far as I'm concerned.

Wow. Stunning.

McCain and pastor Hagee

Post below excerpted from Warner Todd Huston. See the original for links

As you should know by now, Democratic Presidential hopeful Barack Obama has a Wright problem. That would be a Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. problem. It turns out that Barack Obama's "spiritual mentor" has a long, long history of hatred against whites and the history of the U.S.A. But, late last week, news began to surface that one of John McCain's religious supporters, John Hagee, has made many harsh anti-Catholic statements in the past. As reports of Wright's disgusting, hate filled garbage has made the news earlier last week, many on the extreme left have pointed to the low profile that the McCain story has had as proof that the media is unfair, intimating that the media might even be on McCain's side.

It is true that John Hagee has made bigoted statements against the Catholic Church. It is also utterly true that Jeremiah Wright has made racist, hateful statements against all whites and the history of this country. But, for the left to imagine that the situations in which McCain and Obama find themselves are exactly the same shows that leftists who think this are either uninformed or disingenuous. The situations are not in any way comparable.

Before you even attempt to dismiss this as just another fawning excusing of the GOP candidate by a Republican apologist, I will inform you that I will not vote for John McCain under any circumstances. So, you cannot chalk this up to mere electoral partisanship. So, that said, there are major differences between McCain's endorsement by Hagee and Obama's endorsement by and 20 year long relationship Rev. Wright. The following points mark a stark difference between McCain/Hagee and Obama/Wright:

* In his book the Audacity of Hope, Barack Obama called Rev. Wright his "spiritual mentor." McCain has not made any such statement of Hagee.
* Obama had his children baptized by Rev. Wright. McCain's kids never knew Hagee when they were small.
* Rev. Wright performed Obama's marriage ceremony. McCain had never even met Hagee until he became the frontrunner for the GOP nomination.
* Obama chose Rev. Wright's church and attended it for 20 years. McCain has never attended Hagee's church.

These points are extremely important and mark a completely different relationship between the hatemonger Wright and Barack Obama and McCain and Hagee. It shows that Obama had many decades of intimacy with Rev. Wright proving that Wright's hate speech could not possibly have bothered Barack very much at all, much less have come as any surprise. While John McCain had only just met John Hagee proving that his history of anti-Catholic statements is not something that McCain could have had long and intimate contact with.

Of course, both candidates have disavowed their religious supporter's statements. Obama made his statement via the Huffington Post and McCain via the media with a statement to the Associated Press.

But there is absolutely no way to equate McCain's acceptance of the anti-Catholic Hagee's support with that of Obama's acceptance of the racist Wright's. Obama has no excuse to have only suddenly distanced himself form this hate filled, ranter whom he has called his "spiritual mentor." For decades Obama has known of, and sat in a congregation listening to, the wild-eyed rants by this man. Barack has accepted him as part of his family closely associated with his wife and children. Barack Hussein Obama has been very close with Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. for 20 some years. On the other hand, John McCain has only just met John Hagee. You just cannot equate the two.

THERE ARE NO REGULAR "AMERICANS" FOR THE LEFT

In a revealing web posting defending the racist, anti-American hatemonger Jeremiah Wright, the United Church of Christ's Rev. Steve Gray is quoted as follows:

Gray, a member of First Congregational UCC in Indianapolis, has worshiped several times at Trinity UCC and is most impressed by the overflowing sense of welcome it extends to visitors.

"When you're Euro-American, the people [at Trinity UCC] are so exceedingly gracious, warm and welcoming. They hug you and say, 'Welcome to our church!'"

Many, including Gray, point with appreciation to Trinity UCC's generous support of denominational and ecumenical ministries. From 2003 to 2007, Trinity UCC gave more than $3.7 million to Our Church's Wider Mission, the UCC's shared fund for connectional mission and ministry.

What I learn from that, is that we are all hyphenated now. There is no such thing as an American. There are only African-Americans, Mexican-Americans, and Euro-Americans. What a bunch of garbage!

What I also learn is that for the UCC leadership, it's all about the benjamins.

It is also interesting to note that Jeremiah Wright's church is the largest single congregation in the UCC, a predominantly white, leftist denomination that was the first organized Protestant denomination to ordain an openly practicing homosexual man, and to endorse same-sex marriage.

I'm also wondering why Jeremiah Wright did not choose a traditionally African-American denomination, such as the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church or the National Baptist Convention. Would it be because a more "mainline" African-American denomination wouldn't tolerate his socialistic and racist extremism? And why did Barack [middle name redacted] Obama choose this particular extremist as his spiritual mentor, rather than a more mainstream African-American minister? Could it be that the radical political extremism of Jeremiah Wright is what attracted Barack Obama (or perhaps it was Michelle Obama) to Wright in the first place?

UPDATED Welcome to the "Politics of Change"

Barack is SO, SO sorry... All those years when the Good Rev. Wright married him and baptized his daughters...and accepted all of Barack's big contributions to his Ministry...and went globetrotting with his buddy Louis (I never met a white man I liked) Farrakhan--well the poor victim Barack Obama just must not have been paying good attention to what this guy was about...

Just like he wasn't paying attention when the crook Rezko's wife bought him his new front yard, gratis (ok maybe for a political favor or 100...); or when Rezko himself donated a quarter of a mil (that we know of) to his campaigns (that one just came out today); nor when all that earmark money went to his own wife's business.

Rookie mistakes. Just a bit of bad judgment, no trouble here. Barack had his eyes on the "big picture, that's all." So let's let bygones be bygones and let's make the guy President now...

Right.

Victor Davis Hanson has got it exactly right: this isn't going away; not even for some call girl. I think we are witnessing the implosion of the Obama campaign:
Betrayed?

The problems with Rev. Wright and Sen. Obama are fivefold. They won’t go away, but they will raise dilemmas for him that have no analogy, no parallel with other religious leaders of dubious past declamations who have supported the other candidates:

1) The Obamas were not merely endorsed by, or attended the church of, Rev. Wright, but subsidized his hatred with generous donations, were married by him, and had their children baptized by this venomous preacher; there is nothing quite comparable in the case of Sens. Clinton and McCain.

2) Rev. Wright’s invective is not insensitive or hyperbolic alone, but in the end disgusting. And when listened to rather than read, the level of emotion and fury only compound the racism and hatred, whether in its attack on the Clintons, or profanity-laced slander of the United States and its history, or in gratuitous references to other races. Its reactionary Afrocentrism, conspiracy-theory, and illiberal racial separatism take us back to the 1970s, and compare with the worst of the fossilized Farrakhan—and have no remote parallel in the present campaign.

3) Sen. Obama has proclaimed a new politics of hope and change that were supposedly to transcend such venom and character assassination of the past. Thus besides being politically dense, he suffers—unless he preempts and explains in detail his Byzantine relationship with the Reverend—the additional charge of hypocrisy in courting such a merchant of hate. And then he compounds the disaster by the old-fashion politics of contortion and excuse by suggesting the Rev. Wright is not that controversial, or is analogous to the occasional embarrassing outburst of an uncle—some uncle.

4) There is a growing sense of betrayal among some of his supporters. Sen. Obama promised to transcend race; millions of sincere people of both parties took him at his word and invested psychologically and materially in his candidacy. Part of his message was that collectively America had made great progress, and their Ivy League and subsequent careers, in addition to his rhetoric of inclusiveness and tolerance, bore witness to that progress in racial equality. Now we learn, that for much of his career, he was not only attending hate-filled sermons against “rich white people” and the “g-d d——d America” (in hopes of solidifying his racial fides in regional Chicago politics?), but subsidized that ministry of intolerance. So while he promised an evolution beyond the race-identity politics of Jesse Jackson or the Rev. Sharpton, his own minister trumped anything that either one of those preachers might have sermonized. All in all—a betrayal.

5) The timing is especially troubling. In delegate mathematics, Obama seems to have the nomination; but this scandal—and it is a scandal despite the best efforts of sympathetic journalists to downplay it—will only cause worry for the super delegates, who now must either nominate a candidate (no doubt the vast right-wing conspiracy is examining the multivolume DVDs of Rev. Wright’s collective corpus of hatred) who will bleed all spring and summer, or “steal” the nomination from the “people” and “hand it over” to Hillary.

So now in place of a critical discussion of issues from taxes to the war, welcome to the Politics of Change.
The Democrats have a BIG problem; even Hillary may not want him on her ticket now... He portrayed himself as such a "uniter", and now it appears he has spent over 20 years with one of the biggest racist bigots around. Nice try.

In his zeal to outdo the Queen of Identity Politics, Barack Obama has now reaped what he himself has sown. But not because he is black; rather, because he quite simply does not have the judgment to be President.

UPDATE: Tom McGuire isn't buying either:

This Rolling Stone article from Feb 2007 titled "The Radical Roots of Barack Obama" looks like a gold mine. Lots of material on Wright (but nothing on Ayers). This next passage gives a flavor of what Obama is pretending he did not hear in church [but do note my confusion following the excerpt]:

Wright takes the pulpit here one Sunday and solemnly, sonorously declares that he will recite ten essential facts about the United States. "Fact number one: We've got more black men in prison than there are in college," he intones. "Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run!" There is thumping applause; Wright has a cadence and power that make Obama sound like John Kerry. Now the reverend begins to preach. "We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional KILLERS. . . . We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. . . . We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. . . . We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means!" The crowd whoops and amens as Wright builds to his climax: "And. And. And! GAWD! Has GOT! To be SICK! OF THIS SHIT!"

This is as openly radical a background as any significant American political figure has ever emerged from, as much Malcolm X as Martin Luther King Jr. Wright is not an incidental figure in Obama's life, or his politics. The senator "affirmed" his Christian faith in this church; he uses Wright as a "sounding board" to "make sure I'm not losing myself in the hype and hoopla." Both the title of Obama's second book, The Audacity of Hope, and the theme for his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 come from Wright's sermons. "If you want to understand where Barack gets his feeling and rhetoric from," says the Rev. Jim Wallis, a leader of the religious left, "just look at Jeremiah Wright."

Obama wasn't born into Wright's world. His parents were atheists, an African bureaucrat and a white grad student, Jerry Falwell's nightmare vision of secular liberals come to life. Obama could have picked any church — the spare, spiritual places in Hyde Park, the awesome pomp and procession of the cathedrals downtown. He could have picked a mosque, for that matter, or even a synagogue. Obama chose Trinity United. He picked Jeremiah Wright. Obama writes in his autobiography that on the day he chose this church, he felt the spirit of black memory and history moving through Wright, and "felt for the first time how that spirit carried within it, nascent, incomplete, the possibility of moving beyond our narrow dreams."

Ouch. [But hold on - per this article, the Rolling Stone is reporting on the same speech described by today's WSJ as having been delivered at Howard University; this YouTube video tracks both sets of excerpts. I suppose he could have delivered it twice. But word for word? So what was the Rolling Stone reporter thinking about? I'll guess - Howard University is in Washington DC, as is Obama's Senate office, and he got muddled.]

Let's cut to the Times for more on Obama's choice of minister:

It was a 1988 sermon called “The Audacity to Hope” that turned Mr. Obama, in his late 20s, from spiritual outsider to enthusiastic churchgoer. Mr. Wright in the sermon jumped from 19th-century art to his own youthful brushes with crime and Islam to illustrate faith’s power to inspire underdogs. Mr. Obama was seeing the same thing in public housing projects where poor residents sustained themselves through sheer belief.

In “Dreams From My Father,” Mr. Obama described his teary-eyed reaction to the minister’s words. “Inside the thousands of churches across the city, I imagined the stories of ordinary black people merging with the stories of David and Goliath, Moses and Pharaoh, the Christians in the lion’s den, Ezekiel’s field of dry bones,” Mr. Obama wrote. “Those stories — of survival, and freedom, and hope — became our story, my story.”

Mr. Obama was baptized that year, and joining Trinity helped him “embrace the African-American community in a way that was whole and profound,” said Ms. Soetoro, his half sister.

Whoa. It is hardly as if this is the church Obama's parents selected and he inherited. He sought out Wright, was moved by Wright, and is now pretending he had no idea Wright said these things. ....

The House That Bigotry Built for Jeremiah Wright: it's a mansion over 10,000 sq ft

FOX:

A two-week FOX News investigation, however, has uncovered where Wright will be spending a good deal of his time in retirement, and it is a far cry from the impoverished Chicago streets where the preacher led his ministry for 36 years.

FOX News has uncovered documents that indicate Wright is about to move to a 10,340-square-foot, four-bedroom home in suburban Chicago, currently under construction in a gated community.

While it is not uncommon for an accomplished clergyman to live in luxury, Wright’s retirement residence is raising some questions.

“Some people think deals like this are hypocritical. Jeremiah Wright himself criticizes people from the pulpit for middle classism, for too much materialism,” said Andrew Walsh, Associate Director of the Leonard E. Greenberg Center for the Study of Religion in Public Life with Trinity College in Hartford, Conn.

“So he’s entitled to be tweaked here. So the question really is, how unusual is this? Somewhat unusual,” he said.

UNUSUAL!?!? SHEESH: IT'S TOTALLY FREAKIN' HYPOCRITICAL.

MORE:

Wright did not respond to repeated calls for comment, and Trinity United refused to discuss the specifics of the home it is building for him and the way the deal was financed.

OBAMA: HYPOCRITE, RACIST, LIAR.

THE CORNER ON BARACK OBAMA JUNIOR:

Obama then and now [Mark Steyn]

From a reader of mine in Quebec:

Old Barack:

Don’t tell me words don’t matter.

‘I have a dream.’ Just words?

‘We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal.’ Just words?

‘We have nothing to fear but fear itself.’ Just words? Just speeches?

New Barack:

'God damn America.' Just words.

'US government created Aids, supplied drugs to our community.' Just words.

'US of KKKA.' Just words.

'What we are doing is the same thing al-Qaeda is doing.' Just words.

'Until now, I was never proud of my country.' Just words from my wife.

03/19 09:04 AM
AND:

Wright v. Imus [Jonah Goldberg]

From a reader:

ABC News took a closer look at the Barack Obama speech on race yesterday and found curious discrepancies from past positions. Brian Ross and Avni Patel also note similar contradictions in Obama’s positions on Tony Rezko. It looks like some of the media has finally begun vetting the Democratic front-runner for the nomination:

Buried in his eloquent, highly praised speech on America’s racial divide, Sen. Barack Obama contradicted more than a year of denials and spin from him and his staff about his knowledge of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s controversial sermons.

THAT SAYS IT ALL: OBAMA: HYPOCRITE, RACIST, LIAR.

Tuesday, April 29, 2008

WRIGHT CORRECTLY IDENTIFIED BARACK AS A LIAR - and Barack didn't like it!

Whatever you may say about Jeremiah Wright, he is not someone who refrains from expressing what is on his mind, such as it is. He can be quite blunt.

Barack is not like that . . .

It is instructive to look at all of Barack [middle name redacted] Obama's statements about Wright since this episode -- scandal or kerfuffle -- began.

Each statement was Barack's disingenuous attempt to bargain his way our of his predicament.

First was the attempt to say that Wright's Church wasn't controversial, and that Barack had never heard any of those wild statements.

Next was Barack's attempt to characterize Wright as a crazy old uncle whom Barack had never taken seriously, but from whom Barack could never separate himself.

Next was the attempt to separate Wright's most extreme statements from Barack's message.

Finally, and I may have left out a couple of half steps and fakes, was this:
“Obviously whatever relationship I have had with the Rev Wright has changed. I don’t think he showed much concern for me or what we are trying to do with this campaign or for the American people.” [Emphasis added.]
What was it that finally forced Barack to criticize his spiritual mentor? I think it was this:
Mr Obama said he was particularly angered by Rev Wright’s repeated suggestion that the senator’s earlier denunciation of the sermon comments was merely made out of political convenience.
Yes, this was the straw that broke the camel's back:

MODERATOR: What is your motivation for characterizing Senator Obama’s response to you as, quote, “what a politician had to say”? What do you mean by that?

WRIGHT: What I mean is what several of my white friends and several of my white, Jewish friends have written me and said to me. They’ve said, “You’re a Christian. You understand forgiveness. We both know that, if Senator Obama did not say what he said, he would never get elected.”

Politicians say what they say and do what they do based on electability, based on sound bites, based on polls, Huffington, whoever’s doing the polls. Preachers say what they say because they’re pastors. They have a different person to whom they’re accountable.

As I said, whether he gets elected or not, I’m still going to have to be answerable to God November 5th and January 21st. That’s what I mean. I do what pastors do. He does what politicians do.

I am not running for office. I am hoping to be vice president.

Barack didn't break with Wright because Wright exhorted his congregation to sing out "God d--n America!" Barack didn't break with Wright because Wright said that AIDS was created by the U.S. government to kill colored people. Barack didn't break with Wright because Wright said America was a terrorist state that deserved the September Eleventh atrocities.

No, Barack broke with Wright because Wright called him a "politician."
I don’t think he showed much concern for me . . .
It's always all about Barack, isn't it?

As our perspicacious co-blogger JR has pointed out, Barack Obama's behavior exhibits features that are classic for psychopathy, here, here, here, here, and here -- and this here's another one.

But, by the way, Wright is correct about one thing. Barack Obama is quite evidently a liar.

RUMOR: REPUBLICANS HAVE MICHELLE OBAMA ON VIDEOTAPE RAILING AGAINST "WHITEY"

No Quarter asks, "Will Obama Throw Mama From The Train?"
I now have it from two three four sources (three who are close to senior Republicans) that there is video dynamite–Michelle Obama railing against “whitey” at Jeremiah Wright’s church. Republicans may have a lousy record when it comes to the economy and the management of the war in Iraq, but they are hell on wheels when it comes to opposition research.

Someone took the chance and started reviewing the recordings from services at Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Christ. Holy smoke!! I am told there is a clip that is being held for the fall to drop at the appropriate time. The last thing Barack and Michelle need is a new clip that raises further questions about her judgment and temperament.

When the ugly video tapes about Jeremiah Wright’s racist ravings first broke Barack Obama told us he could no more disown Jeremiah Wright than his own Grandmother. Well, we all know how that turned out. So will Barack stand by Michelle when the tape emerges of her verbally attacking “whitey?” Republicans, who are otherwise gloomy about prospects in November, recognize that this recording will create real problems for Barack and give them a shot at the White House. It is their October surprise.

Does Barack have an obligation to tell the Democrats, super delegates in particular, about this tape? Did Barack and his campaign do their basic homework and identify this tape as a potential problem? And, more importantly, do they have a copy? Probably better to deal with this issue before the convention rather than wait for October. What do you think?
Reliapundit adds: Oh... Obummer I mean OBAMA will just say he never heard her ever say anything controversial before...

THIS DERRICK BELL QUOTE MAY EXPLAIN THE ESSENCE OF OBAMA

I THINK ONE MAJOR REASON OBAMA
IS SO DEEPLY CONNECTED TO POSTMODERN LEFTISM -
AND ITS DEEP HATRED OF THE WEST -
IS THAT, LIKE HIS MENTORS

JEREMIAH WRIGHT AND DERRICK BELL -

(AND LIKE THEIR FRIEND AN ALLY LOUIS FARRAKHAN,
AND DESPITE ALL THE BENEFITS
THAT HAVE BEEN SHOWERED UPON HIM AND HIS WIFE
BY THE WHITE ELITE IN THE USA),
OBAMA HAS A DEEP HATRED OF THE WHITE RACE.

OBAMA ALMOST ALWAYS REFERS TO HIMSELF
AS A BLACK -
DESPITE BEING HALF WHITE AND
DESPITE BEING A KENYAN-AMERICAN
WITH NO DIRECT CONNECTION
TO AFRICAN-AMERICAN SLAVERY
OR THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT,

WHO WAS RAISED IN A MADRASSA INDONESIA

AND WENT TO AN ELITE PRIVATE SCHOOL
IN GHETTO FREE HAWAII.

IN OTHER WORDS:

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA SENIOR WAS NOT OUR PRESIDENT'S SPIRITUAL FATHER.

AND NEITHER WAS STANLEY DUNHAM.

FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS AND DERRICK BELL AND JEREMIAH WRIGHT WERE.

DAVIS CULTIVATED THE FIELD.

BELL PLANTED THE SEED.

JEREMIAH WRIGHT WATERED THE PLANT.

AND THE SEIU/ACORN/ALINSKY ALIGNED CHICAGO MACHINE REAPED THE ANGRY HARVEST.

THE RESULT IS A LEFTIST'S DREAM AND AMERICA'S NIGHTMARE.

A PRESIDENT WHO - TO SAVE THE EARTH FROM CO2 AND THE THIRD WORLD FROM INDUSTRIALIZATION, AND WOMEN FROM THE GOP AND THE CHURCH - WANTS TO BRING THE USA, THE WEST - AND THE WHITE RACE - DOWN A NOTCH.

VOTE ACCORDINGLY.

Pastor Wrong still pouring out abuse

It's basic to him. It's what he does. There can no doubt that it was a gospel of hate -- a Satanic gospel -- that sustained Obama for 20 years

Rev. Jeremiah Wright told a congregation in Norfolk, Va., on Sunday that reporters sneaked into a private funeral service a day before, in which he blasted America's founding fathers for slavery and white supremacy and received standing ovations for attacking FOX News for covering his anti-American sermons. Barack Obama's retiring pastor delivered a sermon at Bank Street Memorial Baptist Church, where his late uncle had been the pastor, about overcoming trouble. The public appearance was his first since news broke that the Democratic presidential candidate's pastor frequently rails on the United States. "Some troubles that come up in your life come up out of nowhere," Wright said. At the end of the two-hour-plus service, about two dozen ministers gathered around Wright and his daughter to pray for them. One of the ministers asked God to give Wright courage as "the world tries to demonize him."

Though Wright said nothing about Obama or the uproar itself, he alluded to the controversy while briefly back in the pulpit Saturday to deliver a eulogy for a late congregant of Trinity United Church of Christ - former appellate judge R. Eugene Pincham. Wright, who is on sabbatical before retiring from Trinity United, said America's mistreatment of blacks is the result of the founding fathers, who "planted slavery and white supremacy in the DNA of this republic."

First reported by The Chicago Sun Times, Wright told mourners at the funeral that Thomas Jefferson, who partook in "pedophilia," would also be considered unpatriotic these days because he wrote, "God would punish America for the sin of slavery." He also quoted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who said that the U.S. has a "congenital birth defect."

Speaking of the seven lessons Pincham taught him, Wright said the judge's faith "was not the jingoistic, chauvinistic `you're either with us or against us' demonizing kind of faith." "FOX News can't understand that," Wright said to rousing cheers and applause. "[Bill] O'Reilly will never get that. Sean Hannity's stupid fantasy will keep him forever stuck on stupid when it comes to comprehending how you can love a brother who does not believe what you believe. [Pincham's] faith was a faith in a God who loved the whole world not just one country or one creed."

Economic Suicide and Revolution

Barack Obama's profligate spending programs, in aggregate totaling many trillions of dollars, translate to the act of printing money at a rate never seen in human history. Experts, from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office to Democrat economists, believe that these plans put America on a glide-path to catastrophe over the next ten years.

President Barack Obama's budget would generate unsustainably large deficits averaging almost $1 trillion a year over the next decade, according to new estimates released Friday... The [CBO] figures predict Obama's budget will produce $9.3 trillion worth of red ink over 2010-2019. That's $2.3 trillion worse than the administration predicted in its budget just last month.

Worst of all, CBO says the deficit under Obama's policies would never go below 4 percent of the size of the economy, figures that economists agree are unsustainable. By the end of the decade, the deficit would exceed 5 percent of gross domestic product, a dangerously high level.

And consider the spending itself: a stimulus bill that sends billions of taxpayer dollars to a "criminal enterprise" like ACORN and spews hundreds of billions to pork-laden construction projects. A budget that includes 9,000 earmarks. Mortgage rescue packages for deadbeats and real-estate flippers. Trillions of dollars going out the front door and the back door of the Federal Reserve.

The full faith and credit of the U.S. financial system hangs in the balance. The dollar, once the strongest currency in the world, is on a trajectory to rival a third-world medium of exchange.

The national debt just hit $11 trillion, which reflects only the "on-the-books" amount. The true debt -- including Social Security and Medicare -- is now $56 trillion. This translates to:

$483,000 per American household

That amount of debt is, quite obviously, unsustainable.

Whether the outcome is rampant inflation (devaluation of the currency); an inability to sell U.S. debt to foreigners (China has already warned us about our spending); or the federal government's inability to make payments on the debt (bankruptcy), Barack Obama's behavior should come as no surprise. The urgency of destroying capitalism was baked into his upbringing.

* * *

Obama's mentor Frank Marshall Davis -- the veiled figure known only as "Frank" in Barack Obama's memoir Dreams from my Father -- was openly sympathetic to Communists. His affiliations with a variety of hard left groups were open. At that time, the Communist Party had tens of thousands of members, some of them clandestine Soviet officials who had penetrated government and industry. It received covert subsidies from the Soviet Union itself. In 1949, Davis himself predicted the collapse of Capitalism:

"Democracy today lies weak and slowly dying from the poison administered by the divident doctors in Washington and Wall Street who have fooled a trusting public into believing that they are the specialists who would save us from the dread diseases of socialism and communism. . . . They hope to hand us fascism disguised as the healed democracy." (Honolulu Record, July 28, 1949, p. 8)

Bill Ayers, who worked closely with Barack Obama on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge and the Woods Fund, wrote an eerily similar missive in 2008. It plainly predicts the death of Capitalism:

"Capitalism played its role historically and is exhausted as a force for progress: built on exploitation, theft, conquest, war, and racism, capitalism and imperialism must be defeated and a world revolution—a revolution against war and racism and materialism, a revolution based on human solidarity and love, cooperation and the common good—must win."

Jeremiah Wright, Obama's self-described spiritual advisor, mentor and family friend, offered a similar theme over the two decades comprising their relationship. Hostility to capitalism and America itself make steady appearances in Wright's sermons and his writings.

Wright views the United States as a criminal nation... Implicitly drawing on Marxist "dependency theory," Wright blames Africa's troubles on capitalist exploitation by the West, and also on inadequate American aid: "Some analysts would go so far as to even call what [the United States, the G-8, and multinational corporations] are doing [in Africa] genocide!"

According to Wright, America's alleged genocide in Africa, as well as its treatment of "Africans in the Western diaspora," both leads to and flows from a single underlying truth: "White supremacy is the bed rock of the philosophical, ideological and theological foundations of this country." So for Wright, it's really not a question of correcting America in the spirit of a loving patriot. America, to Wright, is a kind of alien formation, scarcely less of a "cage" for "Africans in the Western Diaspora" than it was during the days of slavery: "...White supremacy undergirds the thought, the ideology, the theol-ogy, the sociology, the legal structure, the educational system, the healthcare system, and the entire reality of the United States of America.

In 2008, Wright, like Ayers, predicted that a revolution would destroy Capitalism as a force in the world.

A true revolution of values will soon look uneasily on the glaring contrast of poverty and wealth. With righteous indignation, it will look across the seas and see individual capitalists of the West investing huge sums of money in Asia, Africa, and South America, only to take the profits out with no concern for the social betterment of the countries, and say, 'This is not just.'

* * *

This theme is the single immutable and consistent lesson taught by Obama's mentors and spiritual advisers: Capitalism is dying -- must die -- as an economic force for reasons of fairness and justice. America, as the world hub of capitalism, is evil. Therefore hastening the collapse of capitalism is an act of goodness.

If you concede that Barack Obama is a bright man -- and with Columbia and Harvard degrees under his belt, it's hard to dispute that notion -- then only one conclusion is possible. Barack Obama, at the helm of the world's strongest country, is fulfilling his promise to his mentors. Barack Obama is intentionally destroying the American economy.

The Revolution is Here.
