LATEST SAUDI STAMPEDE RESULTS IN 719 DEATHS

Another year, another case of people getting crushed underfoot in a Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, for which the Saudi regime blames only the victims:

The toll in Saudi Arabia’s Hajj stampede is set to rise from the 719 confirmed dead, amid deepening recriminations between the desert kingdom that hosts Islam’s defining pilgrimage and its regional arch-foe, Iran.

Two heaving columns of ­worshippers engaged in their once-in-a-lifetime trip to Mecca converged at a narrow intersect­ion on Thursday, causing the deadly crush.

Dust and searing heat compounded the confusion when panic set in, with people suffocated and trampled underfoot. Bloodied bodies still lay on the street 10 hours after the crowd dispersed, confronting video footage shows.

Saudi attempts to gloss over a troubled safety history of the Hajj and blame the dead for the disaster were brushed aside by Iranian ­officials, who pointed to shoddy organisation.

At least 131 Iranian pilgrims were among those killed. Another 863 people were injured in the stampede, many of them seriously, overwhelming medical services and creating expectations that the death toll would increase.

Interesting, isn't it, that this chaos has gotten Saudi Arabia into a clash with Iran, which is no better. But they're never willing to place any blame on the Religion of Peace that led to much of this disrespect for one another in Mecca, and stirred all the infighting. Don't expect Saudi Arabia to make any improvements in safety there either.

AGAIN, IRAN MAKES CLEAR THEY WILL NOT COOPERATE

Iran's dictators have once again, as expected, made clear they will not obey any part of the faustian deals:

Iran openly declares it will violate the UNSC resolution regarding the nuclear deal and will progress with its weapons build-up and development program.

Iran’s three leaders – President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and Deputy Foreign Minister and senior negotiator Abbas Araghchi – have open declared that Iran has no intention of abiding by UN Security Council resolution 2231, which endorses the nuclear deal and restrictions on Tehran’s missiles and weapons acquisition. Rather, they say they will abide only by the original nuclear deal.

According to a report by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), Iran said that it separates the deal regarding its nuclear program from the UNSC resolution. Passed on July 25, the resolution endorses the deal and also includes prohibitions on Iran’s development of advanced ballistic missiles and its purchasing of other types of arms.

And yet the UN and the US administration fully consider this a regime to do any business with. It's already clear this is going to result in pure disaster.

MORE CLUES CLOCK CONTROVERSY WAS MANUFACTURED

Some critics have warned that Ahmed Mohamed's stunt was just that (Hat tip: Accuracy in Media):

President Obama’s public backing of a Texas high school freshman, who got national headlines last week when his homemade clock was mistaken for a bomb by teachers, could be causing a headache for the White House and other supporters as questions are being raised about the motives in the case.

Fourteen-year-old Ahmed Mohamed’s father has said he now plans to withdraw the freshman from MacArthur High School, and said Monday that they intend to visit New York City where he says they will meet with dignitaries at the United Nations, before making a pilgrimage to Mecca and later visiting Obama at the White House, The Dallas Morning News reported.

Oh, they're going to visit Saudi Arabia, are they? Despite how awful the country is, chances are the clock would meet with less favorable reviews there.

[...] amid huge support online for the family, there also has been growing criticism and doubts about the motive behind the incident.

Evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins linked to a video posted to YouTube by electrical expert Thomas Talbot, which closely scrutinizes a photo of the controversial clock.

In the video, Talbot argues the clock is actually a commercial alarm clock, removed from its casing. Features of the clock such as the printed circuit boards and ribbon cables are indicative of a manufactured product, he explained.

Dawkins asked, “If this is true, what was [Mohamed’s] motive?”

Mohamed’s father has a colorful history of his own. Mohamed Elhassan Mohamed announced in February that he planned to run for president of Sudan, as he also did in 2010, the North Dallas Gazette reported. In 2011, he defended the Koran when controversial pastor Rev. Terry Jones put the book “on trial."

On HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Dallas Mavericks’ owner Mark Cuban also expressed concerns about the family’s involvement. While calling Ahmed a “super smart kid,” he said that when he spoke to Ahmed, "his sister, over his shoulder, you could hear, listening to the question, giving him the answer.”

Maher, a left-wing comedian, also expressed skepticism, saying “the people at the school thought it might be a bomb, perhaps because it looks exactly like a [expletive] bomb.”

Fox News senior judicial analyst Judge Napolitano said that if the whole thing was a fraud, and the family was involved, they could be open to legal charges.

“It now appears as though this was a purposeful hoax," Napolitano told Fox News' Megyn Kelly Monday. “If the parents were involved now you have a fraud going on as you have funds going on for him right now,” he said, adding that the two funds to raise money for the family now amount to over $20,000.

Napolitano added that this could turn out to be a politically difficult issue for Obama.

"If this was part of a purposeful stunt and if the parents were involved in this and if everybody from Mark Zuckerberg to President Obama fell for this, this is not good," Napolitano said.

[...] Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin blasted Obama over his involvement in the clock controversy on Saturday, saying in a Facebook post his remarks were "about as presidential as a selfie stick."

"By the way, President Obama's practice of jumping in cases prematurely to interject himself as the cool savior, wanting so badly to attach himself to the issue-of-the-day, got old years ago," Palin wrote.

It already looks more and more like this was all a deliberate hoax, and the White House would do better to uninvite the family from visiting.

IT HAD TO HAVE BEEN DELIBERATE

So in the past week, there was the case of Ahmed Mohamed, a Muslim student in Texas who brought a clock for show at school that looked more like a metal suitcase in which a bomb could be stored. From this, the MSM took to making accusations of "islamophobia" after the student was arrested on suspicion of trying to cause trouble. I'm sure it was deliberate. Mark Davis says that the kid's parents should let the full facts come out:

In view of recent headlines of various types, initial concern about a timing device brought onto school property is not only understandable, it is necessary.

But how did we get from warranted attention to Ahmed Mohamed’s project to the images of him being removed from school property in handcuffs? There are gaping pieces missing from the story of that day, and we should all want them filled in.

But some have already formed conclusions — that a teenager fond of tech tinkering brought a clock to school and everybody freaked out because they thought it was a bomb.

Not content to paint this as a Barney Fife convulsion, accusations of bigotry have been added to the tale, the presumption that since the young man is Muslim, the adverse reaction simply must have been a by-product of institutional hate on the part of the City of Irving, its mayor, its police department and its independent school district.

The weaving of this storyline does not arise in a vacuum. Mayor Beth van Duyne has drawn nationwide attention for opposing the prospect of Shariah law conflicting with state and local statutes and even the United States Constitution. One is free to admire or dismiss that concern, but the presumption that it is Islamophobic is wholly without merit..

But that is the favored narrative of those who wish to portray Ahmed as the victim of vicious racial and religious intolerance. This spin is found among Islamic advocacy groups fond of portraying any staunch opposition to jihad as Islamophobia. This instinct stretches all the way to the White House, where the invitation to Ahmed instantly smacks of opportunism designed to pad the image of a teenager so abused by local haters that he needs a presidential hug.

It's very likely the family was hoping to get 15 minutes of fame they really don't deserve. But surely more puzzling is what hasn't been revealed:

This is a parade of social media expression all are entitled to. But If Team Ahmed is going to lawyer up with such glee, it must mean they have no fear about the public hearing the full story of what happened Sept. 14 from the people who were in the young man’s company, from the school where he walked in with a suspicious and unannounced project, to police detention, where he was taken for some reason we are not fully allowed to know.

Media reports reveal he was told to put his device away, yet continued to carry it to other classes. Irving police describe his answers to their questions as “passive aggressive.” What in the world does that mean?

Could it be he caused a ruckus and that's why he was led out? Was he hostile in the ways of a victimologist? It could be possible, and he certainly did act out of line. Kevin Williamson also says this was just a phony case of islamophobia:

Mohamed’s father says that his son was mistreated because the incident happened a few days after the annual commemoration of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, and because his name is Mohamed. The story immediately became ubiquitous not because of what actually happened — boneheaded as that was — but because it can be used to further a story that the media already want to tell: that the United States is morally corrupt and irredeemably racist; that Muslims are under siege; that “white privilege” blinds the majority of Americans to the corruption at the heart of everything red, white, and blue. Muslim kid meets paranoia in Texas is A-1 copy; NRA-wearing kid meets paranoia in West Virginia, not so much.

Yet these same grievance mongers continue to reside in a country they don't deserve to be in.

All that told, Mohamed's parents had him withdraw from the school this week. I'd say the school would be better off without him. He/they caused enough trouble as it is, and they're the ones who owe apologies for causing all that trouble they could've avoided.

AMERICAN MILITARY WAS TOLD TO IGNORE SEXUAL ABUSE IN AFGHANISTAN

The New York Times reported that senior US military staff gave orders to ignore homosexual rape of youngsters in Afghanistan:

In his last phone call home, Lance Cpl. Gregory Buckley Jr. told his father what was troubling him: From his bunk in southern Afghanistan, he could hear Afghan police officers sexually abusing boys they had brought to the base.

“At night we can hear them screaming, but we’re not allowed to do anything about it,” the Marine’s father, Gregory Buckley Sr., recalled his son telling him before he was shot to death at the base in 2012. He urged his son to tell his superiors. “My son said that his officers told him to look the other way because it’s their culture.”

Rampant sexual abuse of children has long been a problem in Afghanistan, particularly among armed commanders who dominate much of the rural landscape and can bully the population. The practice is called bacha bazi, literally “boy play,” and American soldiers and Marines have been instructed not to intervene — in some cases, not even when their Afghan allies have abused boys on military bases, according to interviews and court records.

The policy has endured as American forces have recruited and organized Afghan militias to help hold territory against the Taliban. But soldiers and Marines have been increasingly troubled that instead of weeding out pedophiles, the American military was arming them in some cases and placing them as the commanders of villages — and doing little when they began abusing children.

“The reason we were here is because we heard the terrible things the Taliban were doing to people, how they were taking away human rights,” said Dan Quinn, a former Special Forces captain who beat up an American-backed militia commander for keeping a boy chained to his bed as a sex slave. “But we were putting people into power who would do things that were worse than the Taliban did — that was something village elders voiced to me.”

What did the US military enter Afghanistan for if the upper crust saw nothing wrong with barbarism against children? If this is accurate, it gives the US military a bad name, and makes Americans look like hypocrites who see savagery acceptable in spite of everything. Those army commanders who allowed so many children to suffer and not offer them better lives should be punished very soundly for legitimizing such horrors.

A SIMPLE QUESTION FOR DEFENDERS OF THE RELIGION OF PEACE:

What in the koran, or in Muhammad's pbuh life, instructs Muslims that Islamism is wrong?

I doubt that anyone can cite anything.

I doubt this because if there was something, then many so called moderate muslims would have cited it, and famous Islamic lesbian reformer, Irshad Manji, would not have argued that the remedy for islamism is a figurative reading of the koran and sura and hadiths. (This argument tacitly admits that what justifies islamism and islamoterror are the explicit words, sentences, and edicts in these essential islamic texts.)

NOTE ABOUT DR. CARSON'S POSITION THAT HE WOULD NOT VOTE FOR A MUSLIM TO BE POTUS: though many muslims do not behave in any way that is antithetical to our founding documents and principles, their holy texts do demand behavior that is antithetical to our founding documenrs and principles.

The holy texts of Judeo-Christian religions are not antithetical to our culture or our founding principles; in fact, they are its foundation. And none compel non-believers to believe or to behave in any way, let alone in any way that is antithetical to our nation's values and principles.

Compulsion is the exclusive domain of islam, and it's a principle reason why it is incompatible with the West.

MOSHE GAFNI DOESN'T LIKE THE TEMPLE MOUNT

The ultra-Orthodox chairman of the Knesset’s Finance Committee, Moshe Gafni (United Torah Judaism) on Thursday sharply criticized Agriculture Minister Uri Ariel (Jewish Home), calling him “a real damage” for having visited Temple Mount this week.

Speaking at a session of the committee held in Kfar Hamakabiyah, in central Israel, Gafni said “I protest his going up to the Temple Mount. He should start tending to the issues of his ministry instead of going to the Temple Mount.”

“With such an agriculture minister I feel I’m in the Diaspora. [He’s] totally redundant. A real damage,” Gafni said.

I think Gafni himself is redundant, and has been for a long time. He clearly sees Jews as the problem, and not Islamofascism. This is classic victim blaming in motion.

According to ultra-Orthodox news website Kikar Hashabat, Jewish Home officials said in response that Gafni “should do what he does best, that is being a schnorrer.” The term, which means scrounger, was an apparent reference to the assertion that many in the ultra-Orthodox community do not do national service and are heavily supported by state benefits.

Gafni is a disgrace, representing the kind who won't serve in the military or show any appreciation to the men and women working hard for his security. He does not belong in the Knesset. IMO, he disrespects the Temple Mount, and clearly sees nothing wrong with having Islamofascists up there who're doing everything they can to destroy the Jewish heritage there.

NOBEL SECRETARY REGRETS GIVING OBAMA THE PRIZE

One of the former overseers of the Nobel peace prize now expresses regret over giving it to Obama:

Awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to US President Barack Obama in 2009 failed to achieve what the committee hoped it would, its ex-secretary has said.

Geir Lundestad told the AP news agency that the committee hoped the award would strengthen Mr Obama.

Instead, the decision was met with criticism in the US. Many argued he had not had any impact worthy of the award.

Mr Lundestad, writing in his memoir, Secretary of Peace, said even Mr Obama himself had been surprised.

"No Nobel Peace Prize ever elicited more attention than the 2009 prize to Barack Obama," Mr Lundestad writes.

"Even many of Obama's supporters believed that the prize was a mistake," he says. "In that sense the committee didn't achieve what it had hoped for".

Why would anybody think a mere prize would help anybody when they don't even prove they're worthy of it, past, present or future? And how do they intend to make improvements in their policies so that farces aren't performed again?

WELL, THERE'S STILL NO NEED TO VISIT REYKJAVIK

They say they're dropping a boycott of Israeli goods, save for Judea/Samaria goods:

Reykjavík Mayor Dagur B. Eggertsson announced on Saturday on Icelandic national broadcaster RÚV that Reykjavík City Council is canceling its boycott of all Israeli products, limiting the boycott instead to goods produced by Jews in Judea and Samaria, Iceland Review reported.

Dagur admitted that the original boycott motion approved by the council hadn’t been prepared well enough, but now it would be “changed and clarified.”

“I have stated that it should have been made much clearer in the text [that only products from territories occupied by Israel should be boycotted], although that’s what we had in mind. I will suggest to the City Council that the motion the way it reads now be withdrawn while we discuss the next steps and how to present it,” the mayor said.

Dagur added: “I must admit that I’m angry at myself for not having done this the way I wanted.” He said he was surprised by the reaction to the decision. “I expected a reaction but not on this scale. It appears to be a stronger reaction than when Iceland declared support for an independent Palestine [in 2011].”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry condemned the move, which came “for no reason or justification except for hatred for its own sake.” The ministry added: “We hope someone in Iceland will come to their senses and end the one-sided blindness against Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East.” And Iceland’s Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson called the decision “ridiculous.” The Simon Wiesenthal Center recommended that Jews not travel to Iceland.

I think that's a great idea. No need to buy their products either, if they're going to hatemonger against Judea/Samaria. This could be a perfect opportunity now to protest any boycott of Judea/Samaria products done for the sake of legitimizing terrorism. We certainly don't need to support the creeps running Reykjavik.

LITTLE AHMED'S CLOCK WAS A PREMEDITATED FAKE HATE CRIME

Ahmed Mohamad did not invent, nor build a clock. He took apart an existing clock, and transplanted the guts into a pencil box, and claimed it was his own creation. It all seems really fishy to me. 

If we accept the story about “inventing” an alarm clock is made up, as I think I’ve made a pretty good case for, it’s fair to wonder what other parts of the story might be made up, not reported factually by the media, or at least, exaggerated. 

I refer back again to this YouTube video interview with Ahmed. He explains that he closed up the box with a piece of cord because he didn’t want it to look suspicious. I’m curious, why would “looking suspicious” have even crossed his mind before this whole event unfolded, if he was truly showing off a hobby project, sometuhing so innocuous as an alarm clock. 

Why did he choose a pencil box, one that looks like a miniature briefcase no less, as an enclosure for a clock? It’s awful hard to see the clock with the case closed. On the other hand, with the case open, it’s awful dangerous to have an exposed power transformer sitting near the snooze button (unless, perhaps his invention was to stop serial-snooze-button pressers by giving them a dangerous electrical shock!)

THERE IS A SIMPLE ANSWER TO ALL THIS:

AHMED WAS PUT UP TO THIS BY IS PRO-ISLAMIST FATHER PROBABLY IN COORDINATION WITH CAIR AND THE WHITE HOUSE IN ORDER TO CREATE THIS FUROR AND MAKE US LESS LIKE TO SAY SOMETHING IF WE SEE SOMETHING, AND MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE ENEMY TO ATTACK.

Bernie isn't drawing huge crowds because Hillary is a lying, thieving, traitorous phony who used her position at State to shakedown companies and countries for millions in payola to her foundation and her husband for "speaking fees".

Bernie is popular because of his economic message.

Bernie's big point is that the Obama recovery has only benefited the one percent, and Wall Street, and the big banks...

And democrats who are gravitating to him are doing so because they agree.

DEEP DOWN WE ALL KNOW THAT THE USA IS NOT BETTER NOW THAN IT WAS IN 2007 BEFORE THE GLOBAL CRASH.

Unfortunately, the remedies Bernie proposes would make things worse, and actually do to the USA what Chavez did to Venezuela.

The GOP must do a better job of tapping into the deep dissatisfaction most Americans have with the economy and explain clearly why more socialism isn't the solution, it's the problem.

Carly and Cruz and Rubio do the best job of this, so far.

The GOP nominees must do this as well as they convince Americans about peace through strength.

This is how we reassemble the Reagan coalition and get the Reagan democrats back in the fold.

ANN COULTER IS DECIDEDLY NOT WORTH OUR TIME

I've often had mixed feelings in the past about columnist Coulter, who's made a name for herself with plenty of firestorm statements. But this time, I think she has gone overboard for no good reason:

Right-wing commentator Ann Coulter's rant about "f---king Jews" was "misunderstood," she claimed in a Daily Beast interview late Thursday, as she denied that the remarks reinforce anti-Semitic stereotypes.

"I think it was ripped out of context and lied about," Coulter stated. "Anyone following any of the debate in America knew exactly what I was talking about… My tweet was about Republicans and the pandering. It wasn’t about Israel, it wasn’t about Jews. It’s what Republicans are thinking in their little pea brains."

What about hers? She's not thinking any deeper. She's only digging to that point:

Coulter then dug herself deeper, taking a shot at Evangelical Christians.

"I could say the same thing about Evangelicals," she said. "Who are you pandering to? A lot of it is to Sheldon Adelson and the Evangelicals…this kind of suck-uppery is humiliating.”

"There is no doubt that the Republican Party is the party of Israel and of Life," she added. "So why keep sucking up on Israel?”

What's so wrong with Adelson? Nobody's saying he's a saint, but compared with Soros, he's peanuts. Adelson's done plenty to help Israel, and if Coulter were really pro-Israel, she wouldn't be targeting people like him. "Sucking up" doesn't help either.

When asked whether her remarks could perpetuate the idea that Jews "run Hollywood" or the media, Coulter admitted: “Well, this episode is not going a long way to disprove that.”

Coulter then took cheap shots at Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, oddly choosing to link his policies with the US's illegal immigration issues.

"I’d like to move Israel to the northern border of Mexico, and see what happens then," she said. "These Republicans say fences don’t work - I’d like to see some of them explain Netanyahu’s policy on the fence.”

Even before her attempted explanations, Coulter's remarks sparked a stream of support from anti-Semites, including Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Honestly, her defense is boggling and not very comprehensive. So, it's just no use, I can't see Coulter as somebody to support anymore.

ICELAND'S CAPITOL JOINS THE BDS MADNESS

The latest area to declare a boycott of Israeli products is Rekjavik:

Two days after the municipal government of Iceland's capital Reykjavik voted to boycott Israeli products, the European Jewish Congress is considering legal redress, the group announced in a statement.

On Tuesday the city's motion stated that it would boycott Israeli goods “as long as the occupation of Palestinian territories continues.”

The local government also stated that it opposed what it termed the “the Israeli policy of apartheid."

“This is clearly a discriminatory move and we have already sought advice that it might break international law and treaties," said EJC President Moshe Kantor in an email to the press.

Iceland's government says the municipality's actions don't reflect its policy. But this is still very embarrassing, and demonstrates a failure by a European country to reeducate its population.

On a semi-related note, BDS supporters like Peter Beinart and Alisa Doctoroff may be barred from entering the country. Rekjavik's council members who support the same should also be kept out.
