Former President Jimmy Carter is reportedly preparing an unprecedented meeting with the leader of Hamas, an organization that the U.S. government considers one of the leading terrorist threats in the world.

The Arabic-language newspaper Al-Hayat reported Tuesday that Carter was planning a trip to Syria for mid-April, during which he would meet with Khaled Meshal, the exiled head of the Palestinian terror group Hamas, on April 18.

... Meshal, who lives in Syria to avoid being arrested by the Israeli government, leads Hamas from his seat in Damascus, where he is a guest of Bashar Assad regime.

The State Department has designated Hamas a "foreign terrorist organization," and some groups hold Meshal personally responsible for ordering the kidnapping of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. State Department spokesman Sean McCormack once said of the prospect of meeting with Meshal, "That's not something that we could possibly conceive of."

Some Carter critics called the latest reports typical of the ex-president.

In today's Washington Post, Pete Hegseth, executive director of Vets for Freedom, has coauthored an op-ed with...wait for it...Major General John Batiste.

Batiste, you will remember, is the formerly "antiwar" general who spoke out against Donald Rumsfeld, and who, until recently, was a Board Member of VoteVets.org (the antiwar MoveOn.org vets front group).

Today he joins Hegseth to write:

First, the United States must be successful in the fight against worldwide Islamic extremism. We have seen this ruthless enemy firsthand, and its global ambitions are undeniable. This struggle, the Long War, will probably take decades to prosecute. Failure is not an option.

Second, whether or not we like it, Iraq is central to that fight. We cannot walk away from our strategic interests in the region. Iraq cannot become a staging ground for Islamic extremism or be dominated by other powers in the region, such as Iran and Syria. A premature or precipitous withdrawal from Iraq, without the requisite stability and security, is likely to cause the violence there -- which has decreased substantially but is still present -- to cascade into an even larger humanitarian crisis.

Third, the counterinsurgency campaign led by Gen. David Petraeus is the correct approach in Iraq. It is showing promise of success and, if continued, will provide the Iraqi government the opportunities it desperately needs to stabilize its country.

There are two stories here: 1) A formerly anti-war general flips on supporting the war, and now believes Petraeus has the right strategy; and 2) Batiste has left VoteVets.org, and the antiwar movement, and joined up with the pro-troop, pro-surge, pro-victory Vets for Freedom.

The antiwar movement has lost one of its most powerful voices today, and it will be interesting to see whether they turn on one of their own, or come around to the view, supported by a preponderance of evidence, that the surge is working.

FBI fraudster Nada Nadim Prouty not only used a sham marriage to get jobs with access to secret terrorist intelligence - her current husband is a State Department employee who has held sensitive posts in Middle Eastern embassies, The Post has learned.

Her third hubby, Gordon Prouty, 40, now works for the State Department in Washington, a spokesman confirmed Friday night. He had been stationed at American embassies in Egypt and Pakistan.

A Justice Department spokesman, Dean Boyd, refused to comment on Gordon Prouty's job, or say whether he was under investigation along with his criminal wife. [Emphasis added.]

There appears to be no publicly available picture of Gordon Prouty at this time. Perhaps someone will post his mug shot soon, but that is doubtful.

NEW DURANTY TIMES LAUDS COMMIE ATOM SPY; Putin admits Russia couldn't have made the bomb on its own

In a remarkable, and remarkably disgusting front-page hagiogram, the New Duranty Times celebrated on November 12th, the day the Federal government observed as Veterans' Day, the life an career of a Jewish-American communist, George Koval, who was posthumously honored by Vladimir Putin as a Hero of the Russian Federation.

There are a number of interesting items in the Times story, but let's highlight the most important right away:

First of all, by awarding this signal honor to an atomic spy who "penetrated the Manhattan Project to build the atom bomb," Putin is acknowledging that the Soviet Union would not have been able to come up with the bomb on its own, but was only able to do so by piggy-backing on the work done by American & European-refugee scientists in the United States. This fact underscores the significance of the Soviet espionage operation in America, and the damage done by high-ranking traitors such as Alger Hiss and Harry Dexter White.

Second, the tone of the article is completely adulatory, and the Times seems to admire and approve the criminal actions by which George Koval enabled the Soviet Empire to impose and maintain its hegemony over 300 million victims by nuclear blackmail against the West. Even at this late date, the Times continues the work of Walter Duranty in aiding and abetting Stalinism and its successors.

Koval was born in 1913 and raised in Sioux City, Iowa. His parents believed in the Soviet lie, and emigrated to the Siberian Jewish "homeland" of Birobidjan in 1932.

By 1934, Dr. Koval was in Moscow, excelling in difficult studies at the Mendeleev Institute of Chemical Technology. Upon graduating with honors, he was recruited and trained by the G.R.U. and was sent back to the United States for nearly a decade of scientific espionage, from roughly 1940 to 1948.

How he communicated with his controllers is unknown, as is what specifically he gave the Soviets in terms of atomic secrets. However, it is clear that Moscow mastered the atom very quickly compared with all subsequent nuclear powers.

In the United States under a false name, Dr. Koval initially gathered information about new toxins that might find use in chemical arms. Then his G.R.U. controllers took a gamble and had him work under his own name. Dr. Koval was drafted into the Army, and by chance found himself moving toward the bomb project, then in its infancy.

The Army judged him smart and by 1943 sent him for special wartime training at City College in Manhattan. Considered a Harvard for the poor, it was famous for brilliant students, Communists and, after the war, Julius Rosenberg, who was executed for conspiring to steal atomic secrets for the Soviets.

But Dr. Koval steered clear of all debate on socialism and Russia, Dr. Bloom said. “He discussed no politics that I can recall. Never. He never talked about the Soviet Union, never ever, not a word.”

Friedman writes this at the end of the column:

Bin Laden has created a situation in which the U.S. occupation in Iraq is viewed as entirely “illegitimate” and therefore any violence there by Sunni jihadists against Americans or Iraqi civilians is considered entirely legitimate “resistance.”

THIS IS IDIOTIC RUBBISH.

Bin laden didn't create that situation, the NYTIMES and the MSM and the rest of the Left - including the Democrats did, day after day, headline after headline, traitorous speech after traitorous speech. You lefties relentlessly carried the enemy's water with crap about "Abu Ghraib, Gitmo, lies about WMD, Blood for Oil, Plame, NSA," etc etc etc and so on and so forth.

Asmaa Abdol-Hamid is a candidate for a seat in the danish parliament. She was forced to leave the leftwing SocialistFolkeparti (SF) when she was unable to publicly distance herself from the death penalty and Sharia-law.

But she was welcomed with open arms by the most extreme leftist party in the Folketing - Enhedslisten (Ø).

Just yesterday Asmaa managed to grab headlines by declaring her support for Iraqis who attack, injure, maim or kill Danish troops stationed in Iraq.

Her argument was that it is legitimate for people to resist occupation.

It should come as no surprise to our readers that Asmaa is Danish/Palestinian - her argument mirrors the doublespeak employed for decades by the apologists for the terrorist murderers from Hizb'allah and Hamas.

Her statements have recently been defended by Enhedslisten's partychief comrade Frank Aaen, and convicted drug smuggler, Muhammed Cartoon Imam Abdul Wahid Pedersen.

These traitors try to justify the terrorist actions of foreign insurgents, supported by foreign powers, against peacekeeping forces present in Iraq upon the invitation of a democratically elected Iraqi government, and on a legal UN mandate, by characterizing it as resistance to occupation!

One thing must be clear - the enemies of democracy are not a clandestine movement- they are clearly arrayed before us.

Yesterday, jury selection began in the largest terrorism financing case in U.S. history, against alleged Hamas-front group, the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF).

Yesterday also witnessed the launch of the defense’s public strategy, a dual-track approach consisting of self-appointed Muslim leaders (in this instance, many are implicated in the case themselves, as the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR] was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator), and some in the media, claiming the prosecution is “Islamophobic,” while family members of the defendants wrap themselves in the American flag.

In today’s New York Times, Neil MacFarquhar, parroting the tactic of Islamist organizations like CAIR and the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), pretends to speak for all American Muslims, writing:

For American Muslims, whose religion stipulates that they give 2.5 percent of their annual income to charity, the shuttering of so many of their organizations without a hearing smacks of discrimination.

No attempt is even made to qualify that statement with a “some," "many" or even a "most” – apparently MacFarquhar knows how all American Muslims feel. Much of his article serves as apologia for the defendants, as well.

THE NYTIMES AND THEIR COMRADES IN THE MSM WOULD RATHER THE TERROR SUPPORTING CRIMINALS OF THE HLF GO FREE THAN BUSH HAVE A SMALL VICTORY IN THE GWOT.

RENEGADE CIA "DISSENTERS" LEAKED RENDITION INFO AND COMMITED TREASON

NYTIMES:

Dissident U.S. intelligence officers angry at former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld helped a European probe uncover details of secret CIA prisons in Europe, the top investigator said on Tuesday.

Swiss Senator Dick Marty, author of a Council of Europe report on the jails, said senior CIA officials disapproved of Rumsfeld's methods in hunting down terrorist suspects, and had agreed to talk to him on condition of anonymity.

"There were huge conflicts between the CIA and Rumsfeld. Many leading figures in the CIA did not accept these methods at all," Marty told European Parliament committees, defending his work against complaints it was based on unnamed sources.

The report issued last month said the Central Intelligence Agency ran secret jails in Poland and Romania, with the complicity of those governments, and transported terrorist suspects across Europe in secret flights.

Poland and Romania have repeatedly denied hosting CIA prisons on their soil.

"People in the CIA felt these things were not consonant with the sort of intelligence work they normally do," Marty said.

He said he had based his findings largely on conversations with "high officials of the CIA (and) highly placed European office-holders, who for different reasons, often honorable reasons, were ready to explain what had happened."

I THINK THIS IS FREAKIN' HUGE.

Essentially, the lead EU investigator is alleging that UNELECTED BUREAUCRATS - whose SWORN duty is to gather intel' and provide it to ELECTED decision-makers WHO IN TURN MAKE POLICY - took it upon themselves TOP BREAK THE LAW AND LEAK CLASSIFIED INTEL' AND OPERATIONAL INFO.

THIS IS HIGH TREASON.

The US Attorney General should subpoena this Marty fella and find out who these traitors are and charge them, convict them and have them EXECUTED FOR COMMITTING TREASON IN A TIME OF WAR.

Need I remind you that MICHAEL SCHEUER - no friend of Bush and an opponent of the Iraq War - has repeatedly called rendition the "SINGLE MOST EFFECTIVCE TOOL" in our anti-terror arsenal:

the rendition program has been a tremendous success. Dozens of senior Qaeda fighters are today behind bars, no longer able to plot or participate in attacks. Detainee operations also netted an untold number of computers and documents that increased our knowledge of Al Qaeda's makeup and plans.

AND GEORGE TENET CONCURRED.

But even if it was an ineffective tool it would still not excuse the acts of treason by the CIA agents who leaked this info. IN A DEMOCRACY ELECTED OFFICIAL MAKE POLICY, NOT BUREAUCRATS IN A CLANDESTINE AND SELF-CONTAINED SHADOW GOVERNMENT.

Folks like Valerie Plame have NO RIGHT to make policy.

Folks like her - AND THE TREASONOUS PEOPLE WHO LEAKED THE SECRET PRISON PROGRAM TO THE MSM - are traitorous scum. They are mot dissidents as the NYTIMES calls them; they are traitors - like Daniel Ellsberg and the Rosenbergs and Ames and Hannsen.

If Bush was as strong a hawk as we really need right now, then he'd make sure these traitors were charged. But he probably won't - Dubya does stand for WIMP, after all.

Yep. No doubt about it. Your President is lying to you. At least according to the Japanese during WW2.

June 29, 2007: U.S. troops have been mystified at how differently the war they fight in Iraq is portrayed by the U.S. media back home. Most just shrug it off as "politics," and yet another reason to not trust what the mass media presents as reliable reporting. But recently, the troops have been passing around an interesting discovery. Namely, that the Japanese psychological warfare effort during World War II included radio broadcasts that could be picked up by American troops. Popular music was played, but the commentary (by one of several English speaking Japanese women) always hammered away on the same points;

1 Your President (Franklin D Roosevelt) is lying to you.

2 This war is illegal.

3 You cannot win the war.

The troops are perplexed and somewhat amused that their own media is now sending out this message. Fighting the enemy in Iraq is simple, compared to figuring out what news editors are thinking back home.

When it comes to the news media you have to ask yourself. Whose side are they on anyway?
