A BACKROOM DEAL TO OUST NETANYAHU?

A member of Avigdor Lieberman's party was revealed talking about a deal being made to get rid of Netanyahu as a premier:
Former Deputy Interior Minister Faina Kirshenbaum (Yisrael Beytenu) has spoken for the first time about the corruption scandal involving a number of Yisrael Beytenu party officials, as well as a behind-the-scenes attempt to remove Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from power.

On Thursday evening, Channel 2 News broadcast a recording in which Kirshenbaum said that Yisrael Beytenu Chairman Avigdor Lieberman, Yesh Atid Chairman Yair Lapid, and Kulanu Chairman Moshe Kahlon had struck a deal to boot Netanyahu from power.

"We agreed on a bloc with Kahlon and Yesh Atid -- a centrist bloc. Assuming that Netanyahu would resign, that bloc would bring in the Likud and we would create a large nationalist bloc that could definitely solve a lot of problems and lead a lot of processes."

Kirshenbaum claimed that her party would sit in a government of the Right only. "The option of a left-wing government doesn't exist. They won't be able to build a coalition," she said.

In response to Kirshenbaum's statements, the Likud said in response that "the dirty deal put together in the shadows by Lapid, Lieberman, and Kahlon just heightens the real danger of the possibility of a government of the Left. Again, it's been proven that the only certain way to establish a nationalist right-wing government is for a large, strong Likud to be elected under Netanyahu's leadership."
Whatever they had in mind, it doesn't make any sense, except maybe to get Lieberman appointed as a prime minister, and he's already hinted he's willing to go the concession route to the PLO. This is very disappointing, and if Yisrael Beytenu loses out in this election, it'll be richly deserved.
