First off - according to GALLUP - it's a DEAD HEAT, ALL TIED UP a 45%.
And this is GRRRRRREAT news for McCain.
The Dems should be way put in front now - they usually are. Kerry was. Dukakis was.
Obama ain't.
But - also according to GALLUP - Obama leads in a few categories - one which are high up on the list of priorities of voters, and ones which might very well remain important: the economy, taxes, energy and healthcare.
Mitt Romney will attract more voters on this bundle of issues than any potential Veep.
Romney is a business genius who tried to tackle healthcare and lowered taxes - and supports more drilling here in the USA.
I think McCain will do this. Only the bigoted will abandon the ticket because of Mitt's Mormonism.
Those who argue that a Romney plays onto Obama's populist attack are wrong: Romney EARNED all of his money. Most of the electorate will respect that - and want someone like that in their leadership.
Plus Mitt helps out geopolitically: out west - in Colorado and NM and in Michigan -- and in NH & MASSACHUSETTS.
PLUS, he's smart: smart on his feet and in debates.
MCCAIN-ROMNEY: READY TO LEAD.

the "ted" cut and paste show has been canceled.
My husband saw some show recently that said that the only Olympics in recent history that didn't go way over budget was the one Romney ran. That speaks volumes.
I would much prefer Romney to some of the other disasters McCain is considering.
