ONCE AGAIN, ANOTHER POLL PROVES PEOPLE KNOW THE MSM IS BIASED FOR THE LEFT

A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that four times as many—68%--believe most reporters try to help the candidate that they want to win.

The perception that reporters are advocates rather than observers is held by 82% of Republicans, 56% of Democrats, and 69% of voters not affiliated with either major party. The skepticism about reporters cuts across income, racial, gender, and age barriers.

... Voters have little doubt as to who is benefiting from the media coverage this year—Barack Obama. Fifty-four percent (54%) say Obama has gotten the best coverage so far. Twenty-two percent (22%) say McCain has received the most favorable coverage while 14% say that Hillary got the best treatment.

THIS HAD A MAJOR EFFECT ON THE PRIMARIES: MCCAIN WAS HELPED BY IT AND HILLARY HURT. THE MSM HAS THE MATCH UP THEY WANTED: A LIB HAWK VERSUS A LEFTIE DOVE.

• THE MSM - ACCORDING TO EVAN THOMAS - IS WORTH 15%.
• THAT'S THE ONLY REASON OBAMA V MCCAIN WILL BE SOMEWHAT CLOSE.
• THOUGH I EXPECT OBAMA TO MAKE ONE TOO MANY GAFFES OR ONE SO OUTRAGEOUSLY EMBARASSING HIS CAMPAIGN MIGHT VERY WELL TANK.

Millions of African-Americans celebrated Barack Obama’s historic victory, seeing in it a reflection — sudden and shocking — of their own expanded horizons. But whether Mr. Obama captures the White House in November will depend on how he is seen by white Americans. Indeed, some people argue that one of the reasons Mr. Obama was able to defeat Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton was that a large number of white voters saw him as “postracial.”

In other words, Mr. Obama was black, but not too black.

THEY'RE ARGUING THAT WHITE RACISM MIGHT PREVENT OBAMA FROM BEING ELECTED.

• BUT IT IS BLACK RACISM MORE THAN WHITE RACISM WHICH DEFINES OBAMA: HE GOT 92% OF THE BLACK VOTE AND ABOUT 40% OF THE WHITE VOTE.
  
• IOW, WHITES WERE FIVE TIMES AS LIKELY TO VOTE FOR HIM THAN BLACKS FOR THE WHITE CLINTON.
• AND THE RETICENCE OF SOME WHITES TO VOTE FOR OBAMA HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS BLACKNESS, BUT WITH HIS ASSOCIATION WITH THEW EXPLICITLY RACIST REV WRIGHT.
  
• IOW: IT IS IDEOLOGICALLY ANTI-RACIST, NOT RACIAL.

BUSINESS AS USUAL This coal-fired electric plant discharges greenhouse gases. New designs could allow those gases to be captured and buried.

• ACTUALLY COAL PLANTS ARE TOTALLY CLEAN. THEY NO LONGER EXHALE ANY PARTICLES WHICH LEAD TO ACID RAIN. THEY ONLY EXHALE CO2 - JUST LIKE YOU AND ME AND THE TREE.
• THE ONLY BASIS FOR CALLING CO2 A POLLUTANT IS THE FALSE NOTION THAT MAN-MADE CO2 IS THE CAUSE OF GLOBAL WARMING.
• THIS IS THE ONLY REASON THE USA DOESN'T HAVE DOZENS OF NEW CLEAN COAL PLANTS. SOMETHING WHICH WOULD REDUCE OUR ENERGY BILLS AND LOWER THE PRICE OF OIL AND MAKE US LESS DEPENDENT ON IMPORTED OIL.
• ONLY THE DEMOCRATS AND THE ECO-NUTSIES PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING.
• BUT THE NYTIMES PAINTS THE COAL PLANT AS THE BAD-GUY.
• WRONG.
• THE NYTIMES AND THE MSM AND THE DEMOCRATS - AND THE REST OF THE LEFT ARE THE REAL BAD GUYS.
