EU FOREIGN POLICY CHIEF DEFENDS HAMAS

JPOST:
Hamas wants to "liberate the Palestinians," not to destroy Israel, Javier Solana, the European Union's foreign policy chief, told The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.... [In an interview following his talks in Tel Aviv with Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni.]
Obviously, this schmuck is in deep denial - he doesn't even acknowledge that Hamas and Hizballah are self-described jihadist organizations whose plainly stated goal is the destruction of Israel:
Pressed as to whether he was underestimating the fundamentalist religious imperative at the heart of the Hamas ideology, Solana said, "I cannot imagine that the religious imperative, the real religious imperative, can make anybody destroy another country... Therefore that is an abuse of religion...

"I don't think the essence of Hamas is the destruction of Israel. The essence of Hamas is the liberation of the Palestinians," he added. "The liberation of their people, not the destruction of Israel."
It gets worse: He said, for instance,
"I never thought the construction of the security wall was a good idea."When it was suggested to him that the security barrier had saved hundreds of lives, he said, "I think there were other ways to do it. In any case, the wall should have been constructed on the line of '67."
Need I remind you that not a single Arab country recognized these 1967 "borders" (which have - without negotiation somehow become retroactively sacrosanct to some appeasers, even though the enemy - HAMAS - want to destroy ALL of Israel! Sheesh!) and even UNSCR #242 doesn't call for a return to those borders - because they make Israel way too vulnerable to attack. (Even France this week came out in favor of the security fence - partly because they now suffer from the same jihaidst inspired intifada as Israel.) Later, Solana said:
Quoting former US secretary of state James Baker, he added, "To talk to your enemy is not appeasement."
YES... ON THIS HE IS RIGHT... AND THAT'S WHY LIVNI TALKED TO HIM.

Obviously the E.U.'s foreign policy chief understands that Hamas represents resistance to Israeli occupation. Hezbollah as well. After all Hezbollah represents a by-product of Israel's aims in Lebanon going back to 1982 - strange how organizations like this form out of legitimate objectives rather than out of mere prejudice.

It (the quotes) didn't get worse. Obviously there were other ways to do it and ways that wouldn't be so detrimental to Israel in the long term. The wall is just a bad reaction to events Israel fostered through decades of inaction (and oppression) that made inevitable, responses undesired if not illegitimate.

Need I remind you that Israel, itself, has not yet recognized its own borders and that this is precisely one of the problems with recognizing Israel or its "right to exist". Why or how is one to recognize a nation insisting on its right to exist while it refuses to define where this right exists? Israel, the land without borders insisting that others accept its right to exist. Talk about audacity.

Israel needs to recognize the legitimacy of Hamas and Hezbollah and talk with them but we all understand why they do not. It has to do with that right to exist and where this right is to extend to. That project is still in operation. It has been for 40 years. Talking with Hamas or Hezbollah will only lead to Israel having to define its borders as a nation and this will mean borders less than it currently aims for with its illegal settlement activities and theft of resources.

your comments are consistent with someone who thinks the GWOT is contrived.

your insanity is further proven by the fact that even the UN recognizes that Israel withdrew from Lebanon but you and Hizballah do not.

there are very few borders in the world which were not defined by victory and dictated by the victors to the vanquished. to anti-semites like you and hamas and hizballah this normal course is not p[ermitted for Jews.

Israel has ofered to negotiate withour preconsitions with all of its neighbors. Syria and Lebanon - a captive to Syria and iran - have refused. it is this jihadiost intransigence which has been the true roadblock on the road to peace.

i obviously need to remind you that according to Un records the West Bank and Gaza were among the fastest growing economies in the world betweem 1967 and 1993; their growth ended when the jihadost took over - when Arafat and his cronies took over.

jihadiosm is repressive and anti-libertarian and properity is a by-product of liberty.

as long as 12th century jihadism rules the Arabs of Syria and Iran and their proxies they will remain poor, ignorant and oppressed.

Egypot and Jordan have internationally recognized nborders with israel and are neevr under threat by Israel, whereas they are bioth under constant threat of jihadism and Iranian hegenmony.

i pity you and your willful i9gnorance. wake up and join the good fight: fight for liberty and self-determination of all nations.

and remeber: ONLY democracies are self-determined; tyrannies by definition cannot be because only the people are soverieing and onlpy gpovernments which derive their limited powers from the poeple are legitimate.

buh-byee.
