BBC: WIND FARM KILLS GOATS!

A large number of goats in Taiwan may have died of exhaustion because of noise from a wind farm:

A farmer on an outlying island told the BBC he had lost more than 400 animals after eight giant wind turbines were installed close to his grazing land.

The Ministry of Agriculture says it suspects that noise may have caused the goats' demise through lack of sleep.

The power company, Taipower, has offered to pay for part of the costs of building a new farmhouse elsewhere.

A spokesman for the company said the cause of the goats' deaths still needed to be investigated, but that it doubted the goats died from the noise.

The FBI busted a homegrown terror cell late Wednesday night as the men sneaked around a Jewish temple in Riverdale planting what they thought was packages of C-4 explosives, sources told the Daily News.

The four African American men, three of whom were said to be jailhouse converts to Islam, also allegedly had what they believed was a working Stinger missile in their car.

Officials said they hoped to shoot down a plane at Stewart Air National Guard Base in Newburgh in Orange County.

Sources said the four men were arrested after a year-long investigation that began when an informant connected to a mosque in Newburgh said he knew men who wanted to buy explosives.

FBI agents posing as militants sold them what they thought was 30 pounds of C-4 and a plane-downing Stinger missile.

The weaponry was all phony.

But, the intentions of the Islamic converts were real.

Arrested was alleged ringleader James Cromitie of Newburgh, the son of an Afghan immigrant and his African American wife.

Cromitie served a long stretch in prison in the past.

Alleged henchment David Williams, Onta Williams and Leguerre Payen were busted with him.

Sources said the three were jailhouse converts to Islam.

"This shows the real risks we face from homegrown terror and jailhouse converts, and the need for constant vigilance," said Rep. Pete King (R-NY).

As I thought, allowing jailhouse practice of the RoP is dangerous and should be banned. For now, they should interrogate the men to know just who their converter was and what he had to say in that scary world behind bars.

Let’s do some arithmetic. Car sales were 13 million last year, and five years of sales of all vehicles might be over 70 million. Cars last for a decade or more, so the total savings touted by the administration are trivial indeed (not that much more than the US’s dangerously tiny 35-day Strategic Petroleum reserve) particularly when looked at as being generated over 700 million car-years. No matter. The point is that we can all now feel better about ourselves and helping the earth.

SECRETARY GATES CONFIRMS THAT THE EASTWEST INSTITUTE REPORT ON IRAN'S MISSILE CAPABILITY IS TOTALLY FULL OF CRAP

AP: Gates Confirms Iran missile test successful

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has confirmed that Iran conducted a successful ballistic missile test. U.S. officials had said as much earlier Wednesday, but without putting their names to the information. Gates was asked about the reports during congressional testimony.

He said that the successful test involved a missile with a range of approximately 2,000 to 2,500 kilometers. He said that because of chronic engine problems, the range is probably on the lower end of that scale.

Gates says he can't say whether the test missile hit its intended target.

Two officials confirmed the launch had taken place, speaking on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to speak on the record.

"It appears the test was a success," one official said. "It appears they launched a medium-range missile."

The EastWest Institute published a report two days ago which said Iran's missile ability was over-estimated and that therefore Europe did not need USA's missile shield.

The solid-fuel Sejil-2 missile used a technology that Iran appeared to have tested at least once before, but the Obama administration nonetheless described the event as “significant,” largely because missiles of its kind can be relatively easily moved or hidden.

The Pentagon confirmed that the test of the missile had been a success, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Iran’s president, said that the missile “landed exactly on target,” according to Iran’s official news agency.

I thought the story of a user who's Facebook group was hacked and hijacked by terrorists and the company did nothing about it was bad enough. But now, it looks like Islamofascists may have more ideas in store for how to terrorize Israelis:

A senior Israeli officer identifies recently fired high-tech workers or young career women seeking work abroad as potential terrorist targets for Facebook infiltration.

Their method is simple: monitor personal details on social networks and send their targets a tempting offer — for example, a dream job in Europe — with the hope they will also be able to obtain information, recruit spies and maybe even a kidnap an Israeli.

That is the Israel security establishment’s nightmare, and it believes Hezbollah already uses this technique.

An Israeli citizen recently told law enforcement authorities he had been solicited on Facebook by someone who introduced himself as a businessman from Lebanon. The businessman asked him to relay intelligence information in return for a fee.

Israel security sources say this instance was not the only case, and they believe Hezbollah has engaged in some of these activities.

I'm starting to wonder if Facebook is even worth any sensible person's time? Maybe not, and if Facebook's management won't do anything to stop this either, or cooperate with authorities trying to prevent these potential crimes, then they do not deserve having you as a customer.

Yesterday, the EASTWEST INSTITUTE released a study which proclaimed Europe has nothing to worry about when it comes to Iran's missiles - and tat therefore, Europe and NATO shouldn't deploy any American anti-missile shields.

TODAY....today Iran held a tes of a solid fuel missile which proves they CAN STRIKE EASTERN EUROPE; AFP:

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday that Iran has test-fired a new medium-range surface-to-surface missile and again insisted there will be no climbdown over Iran's nuclear programme.

"The defence minister (Mohammad Mostafa Najjar) told me today that we launched a Sejil-2 missile, which is a two-stage missile and it has reached the intended target," Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the northern town of Semnan.

"I was told that the missile is able to go beyond the atmosphere then come back and hit its target. It works on solid fuel," Ahamdinejad added to cheers from the crowd.

He did not specify the missile's range.

The defence minister said on November 12 that Iran had test-fired a new generation of ground-to-ground missile.

"This is a two-stage missile carrying two engines with combined solid fuel," Najjar said at the time, adding that the missile was named Sejil.

State television then showed footage of the launch of the missile which is similar in size to Iran's medium-range Shahab 3.

In the past, Iran has often boasted of developing new weapons systems only to be met with scepticism from Western defence analysts.

Najjar told the television in November that the new missile had "a range of close to 2,000 kilometres (1,350 miles)," which is similar to that of the Shahab-3 and sufficient to put Iran's regional archfoe Israel in range.

There is one city in Holland where this new reality can be seen with the naked eye, more than anywhere else. Here, entire neighborhoods look as if they have been lifted from the Middle East, here stand the largest mosques in Europe, here parts of sharia law are applied in the courts and theaters, here many of the women go around veiled, here the mayor is a Muslim, the son of an imam. This city is Rotterdam, Holland's second largest city by population, and the largest port in Europe by cargo volume. In the casbah of Rotterdam

In Feyenoord, veiled women can be seen everywhere, darting like a flash through the streets of the neighborhood. They avoid any sort of contact, even eye contact, especially with men. Feyenoord is the size of a city, and there are seventy nationalities coexisting there. It is an area that lives on subsidies and residential construction, and it is here that it is most obvious that Holland – with all of its rules against discrimination and all of its moral indignation – is a completely segregated society. Rotterdam is new, having been bombed twice by the Luftwaffe during the second world war. Like Amsterdam, it is below sea level, but unlike the capital it does not enjoy an image of reckless abandon.

In Rotterdam, it is the Arab shops selling halal food that dominate the cityscape, not the neon lights of the prostitutes. Everywhere are casbah-cafes, travel agencies offering flights to Rabat and Casablanca, posters expressing solidarity with Hamas, or offering affordable Dutch language lessons.

It is the second-largest city in the country, a poor city, but also the economic engine with its huge port, the most important in Europe.

Most of the population are immigrants, and the city has the tallest and most imposing mosque in Europe. Sixty percent of the foreigners who arrive in Holland come here to live.

The most striking thing when one arrives in the city by train are the enormous and fascinating mosques framed by the vibrant green, luxuriant, wooded, watery countryside, like an alien presence compared to the rest.

They call it "Eurabia." The Turkish Mevlana mosque is imposing. It has the tallest minarets in Europe, even higher than the stadium of the Feyenoord soccer team.

Many of the neighborhoods in Rotterdam are captive to the darkest, most violent form of Islamism.

Pim Fortuyn's house stands out like a pearl in a sea of chador and niqab. It is at number 11 Burgerplein, behind the train station.

Every now and then someone comes to put flowers in front of the home of the professor who was murdered in Amsterdam on May 6, 2002. Someone else leaves a card: "In Holland everything is tolerated, except for the truth."

WASH POST: U.S.-Russian Team Deems Missile Shield in Europe Ineffective

A planned U.S. missile shield to protect Europe from a possible Iranian attack would be ineffective against the kinds of missiles Iran is likely to deploy, according to a joint analysis by top U.S. and Russian scientists.

The U.S.-Russian team also judged that it would be more than five years before Iran is capable of building both a nuclear warhead and a missile capable of carrying it over long distances. And if Iran attempted such an attack, the experts say, it would ensure its own destruction.

"The missile threat from Iran to Europe is thus not imminent," the 12-member technical panel concludes in a report produced by the EastWest Institute, an independent think tank based in Moscow, New York and Belgium.
