Galliawatch translates an entry from Nouvelle de France, informing how an Islamofascist demonstration was being planned to protest banning the burka, whose attendants would include British and Belgian Islamists.
UMP deputy Jacques Myard did not hesitate to qualify as "fanatical fundamentalist rubbish" the aggressive tone of the organizers, and to insist they be taken to court.
Bruno Vendoire, of the Bloc Identitaire, did not know exactly who they were but declared that "it is clear that their assembly is a provocation that aims strategically to create tension in France. I can't imagine that this demonstration of hatred would be authorized by the prefect. (…) They should be arrested and sent home. Their agenda to install sharia in France justifies banning this rally (…) We do not have to tolerate the activism of puppets who are fighting our civilization."
Christine Tasin, president of Résistance Républicaine, is "perplexed" as to why the CFCM (French Council of the Muslim Religion) refuses to condemn the rally. "This means that the Muslim organizations want to install sharia in France." (…) The Mosque of Paris did not answer their phone this afternoon.
Louis Aliot, vice-president of the Front National, expressed his feeling, by the end of the afternoon, that such a rally should be banned. "We are in a Republic, the governing document is the Constitution. If these people are not French, they can go live their umma elsewhere. And if they are French, it's even worse because it illustrates the failure of assimilation."
In the end, the police banned the rally on grounds it could trigger violence.
Well that's certainly saying something. Read more to see what other details were involved.
Now we have to hope that this law will be followed through upon, if they want to maintain credibility.
On the other hand, if you want an example of someone who doesn't seek much admiration, it's the prime minister Francois Fillon, who wouldn't even attend the debate Sarkozy was holding about Islam vs. the secular state. Fillon is clearly a defeatist, and if there's anyone who should resign, it's him.
Update: one of those Islamofascists from Britain banned from demonstrating was none other than Anjem Choudhary (via The Jawa Report). That tells all you need to know that something was wrong.
ALBANY – Gov. Cuomo this morning unveiled plans to tackle one of the worst budget gaps in state history – a whopping $10 billion – by dramatically slashing state aid, closing prisons and laying off as many as 9,800 state workers.
The governor's proposed $132.9 billion 2011-12 budget would include a rare reduction of in state spending of $3.7 billion from the current fiscal year. State operating funds – the portion of the budget excluding federal aid – would increase $900 million, or one percent, to $88.1 billion.
Cuomo called for $2.85 billion in cuts to Medicaid, or about two percent, including $982 million in expected growth. He would reduce school projected school aid by $2.85 billion to $19.4 billion
IF OBAMA DID THAT, THEN IT WOULD MEAN A CUT OF $350 BILLION.
IF ANDY CUOMO DID IT, THEN WHY CAN'T OBAMA?
CUOMO DID IT BECAUSE HE HAS BALLS AND A GREAT LOVE FOR NY.
OBAMA DOESN'T HAVE THE BALLS OR THE INCLINATION TO SAVE THE USA.
SIGH.
WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO FORCE OBAMA'S HAND.
AND THAT MEANS WE NEED TO MAKE IT C LEAR WE WILL NOT SUPPORT RAISING THE DEBT LIMIT.
It now appears all but certain that the controversial report alleging deliberate Israeli atrocities against Palestinian civilians in Operation Cast Lead in Gaza will not be withdrawn from the United Nations despite retractions of key allegations made in the report by its author, Justice Richard Goldstone.
One well-placed European diplomat told The Commentator on Saturday that all the signs this week from major European countries and from the United Nations itself suggested that hostility to the Jewish state remained so strong that even Goldstone’s remarkable comments, made in the Washington Post on April 1, could not stop the report’s momentum in its passage through UN bodies:
“Just look around you,” the diplomat said. “The messages from major European countries as well as what people are saying in the halls of the United Nations all indicate that this thing cannot be stopped.”
“The Europeans in particular are keen not to upset the Arab world at a time of turmoil and as several leading countries are involved in military actions in Libya.”
More to the point, if Arab/Islamic countries control the Human Rights Council, for example, then that's why this blood libel will tragically go through. I've said it before, I'll say it again: the damage was done, and Goldstone should be written in history in disgrace and shame for the demon he is.
FRANCE 24… Arab League Secretary General Amr Mussa announced Sunday his intention to appeal to the UN Security Council for a no-fly zone over Gaza, where repeated Israeli air strikes have left at least 18 people dead since Thursday.
AFP – Arab League chief Amr Mussa said on Sunday the organisation will ask the UN Security Council to impose a no-fly zone over Gaza, which Israel has pounded with air strikes in response to rocket fire.
Mussa told an emergency meeting of Arab League ambassadors that “the Arab bloc in the United Nations has been directed to ask for the convention of the Security Council to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and impose a no-fly zone.”
IT GETS WORSE: MUSA COULD BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF EGYPT.
OBAMA IS ON BOARD YET - BUT HE JUST MIGHT GET ON BOARD, OR USE THE THREAT OF GETTING ON BOARD OR ABSTAINING AS LEVERAGE AGAINST ISRAEL.
In direct violation of its own charter, the UN has set itself up as the arbiter of where sovereignty begins and ends, tossing aside Article 51′s “inherent right to self-defense” clause. The Office of the Special Adviser for the Prevention of Genocide at the UN makes this clear. The individual state’s idea of sovereignty takes a back seat to the UN’s judgment: “Sovereignty no longer exclusively protects States from foreign interference; it is a charge of responsibility where States are accountable for the welfare of their people.”
Might R2P [THE "RIGHT TO PROTECT"] also be invoked by Israel’s enemies to target the Jewish State in its war of national survival against the Palestinians?
This has already become a reality. Michael Rubin, writing at Commentary Contentions, reports that the Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arnç said last week, “We wish that the United Nations had made such resolutions and countries had taken action in the face of incidents in Gaza, Palestine and the other regions.”
Does this explain the surprising decision of the Arab League to allow for R2P to be invoked for Libyan intervention?
Recall that the Arab League, the African Union, and numerous other regional developing world organizations originally opposed the concept of R2P. Could the prospect of a UN intervention in Gaza have encouraged the Arab League to back the Libyan adventure?
Even if it didn’t, you can rest assured that the next time Israel feels compelled to defend itself by going into Gaza and taking out terrorists who are attacking it, the League will be crying out for an international response to the “atrocities.” It will contend that Israel is not living up to its “responsibilities” to protect Palestinians. Such an argument will convince many — especially those who are predisposed to hate Israel in the first place. The US will then be in the unenviable position of being forced to veto such action in the Security Council, opening itself up to charges of hypocrisy.
Would we veto such a resolution? With NSC adviser Samantha Power‘s influence on Obama, it is highly questionable. Power is an avid R2P advocate; her 2002 book on the issue, A Problem from Hell, so affected Obama that he invited Power to join his Senate staff as a foreign policy fellow. She also briefly served on his campaign foreign-policy brain trust.
Power is also credited with influencing the president to adopt R2P as part of his foreign policy. But it is her views on Israel that should concern us most of all. She hasa long record of antipathy toward the Jewish State. In a widely scrutinized interview with UC Berkeley’s Institute of International Studies, Power said that “a mammoth protection force” through an “external intervention” were “required” to impose a settlement between Israelis and the Palestinians. Her rather rambling and convoluted statement on the conflict clearly accused Israel of human rights violations, which warranted (R2P) intervention in the same way that the Rwandan genocide did. Such an action “might mean alienating a domestic constituency of tremendous political and financial import” and would involve sacrificing billions the U.S. spends “servicing” the Israeli military to “invest” in a Palestinian state. Clearly, Power is someone who would readily impose a R2P solution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. But with her anti-Israeli disposition so apparent, one shudders to think what this would actually look like.
Other advocates of the R2P doctrine include numerous Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), which promote it for ideological reasons and also because of UN grants and funding. The International Coalition for the Responsibility to Protect brings together many of these NGOs under one umbrella, where they can be more effective in both lobbying the UN and shaking the international money tree. The list of members is a Who’s Who of internationalists, one worlders, and leftist Utopians, including Oxfam, Citizens for Global Solutions, the International Crisis Group, the World Federalist Movement, Human Rights Watch, and The Stanley Foundation.
What all those groups have in common is a desire to destroy or vastly curtail the sovereignty of nations. And rising above all of them as chief financier and inspiration are George Soros and his Open Society Institute.
OBAMA'S INTERVENTION IN LIBYA AND EGYPT AND HIS REFUSAL TO INTERVENE IN SYRIA OR IRAN PROVES THAT OBAMA --- AND SOROS AND THE ENTIRE POSTMODERNIST LEFT --- IS FUNDAMENTALLY ANTAGONISTIC TO THE USA AND THE FREE WORLD AND HAS EFFECTIVELY ALIGNED ITSELF WITH OUR ENEMIES AND THAT MEANS GLOBAL JIHAD. TO MAKE GLOBAL JIHAD HISTORY WE NEED TO MAKE THE OBAMA PRESIDENCY AND THE POSTMODERN LEFT HISTORY.
"She arrived with her name, Trixie. I joked sometimes that it sounded more like a stripper than a dog," Koontz reads.
"A Big Little Life" was Koontz's tribute to his dog, who lived less than 12 years.
"The more I watched her she seemed to be the embodiment of grace and more," reads Koontz.
The 65-year-old writer rarely does television interviews, but he granted this one in part because he wanted to talk about Trixie.
"And I kept being changed by this dog, by her exuberance," he says. "And it opened my eyes to how much I started turning off the beauty of the world out of busy-ness."
Trixie came to Koontz and his wife Gerda when she was three years old, from Canine Companions for Independence, an organization that trains assistance dogs. Trixie had helped a young woman who had lost both her legs before a joint injury forced her into retirement.
Koontz recalls a mystical moment with his dog, when they were lying in the hall staring into each others' eyes.
"And I said, 'I know what you really are.' And she raised her head up and gave me this strange expression," Koontz says. "And I said, you're not a dog. You're an angel.' And she shot to her feet and ran the length of this hall and stood at the far end."
"I actually had to get down on the floor and coax her to me," Koontz continues. "And I brought her to me and it had put the hairs up in the back of my neck. And I said, 'all right. I'll never say that to you again."
"I say in the book, I think she was a theophony, an entrance of God into my life."
Meanwhile, European foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton issued a statement on Friday condemning the mortar shells and rockets fired from Gaza on Thursday, which she said “once again hit the innocent civilian population, and must stop immediately.”
Ashton said she was “deeply concerned by the escalation of violence,” deplored the loss of civilian life in Gaza and called on Israel to “show restraint.”
ABOUT DANG TIME!
HAMAS AND HIZBALLAH AN ASSAD ARE STOOGES FOR IRAN.
JUST THERE CAN BE NO PEACE UNTIL THE ISLAMO-NUTSIES IN TEHRAN ARE VANQUISHED.
Current prediction for the next sunspot cycle maximum gives a smoothed sunspot number maximum of about 62 in July of 2013. We are currently over two years into Cycle 24. The predicted size would make this the smallest sunspot cycle in nearly 200 years.
Hamas said on Saturday it would escalate it attacks against Israel to include a wider range of targets deeper into Israeli territory if the IDF failed to halt its aerial assaults on the Gaza Strip.
Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri blamed Israel for an escalation in violence. "If the Israeli escalation continues, amid international silence and complicity, the reactions by resistance factions will broaden," he told Reuters, saying such actions would be necessary to protect Palestinians in Gaza.
Over 120 rockets and mortar shells slammed into Israel over the weekend as the IDF hammered the Gaza Strip and threatened to open a large ground offensive to stop the rocket attacks.
Five Israelis were reportedly wounded when scrambling to enter bomb shelters as rockets were being fired.
Throughout the day, a number of messages were relayed to Israel by various mediators with an offer of a cease-fire from Hamas’s political echelon in the Gaza Strip.
Defense officials said Hamas appeared to be split and that while its Izzadin Kassam military wing, led by Ahmed Jabari, was continuing to attack Israel, this was being done against the position of the political echelon led by Gaza Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.
The round of violence began on Thursday when Gazans fired an anti-tank missile at a school bus, critically wounding a 16- year-old boy and lightly injuring the driver. Hamas rocket and mortar attacks continued throughout Friday and Saturday in Beersheba, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ofakim, Sderot and other Gaza-belt communities.
The Iron Dome counter-rocket defense system intercepted 10 Katyusha and Kassam rockets over the weekend that were fired in the direction of Ashkelon and Beersheba, where the two batteries are deployed.
Defense Minister Ehud Barak called the successful interception by the missile defense system “an extraordinary achievement for the IDF.”
IF THEY WANT WAR, THEN I SAY WE GIVE IT TO THEM IN SPADES.
Diana West has long maintained a low opinion of Gen. David Petraeus, whom she feels is one of the architects of Arabist/Islamist policies.
With this picture worth a thousand words, what else can be said, aside from how he makes himself into a male who wears a Muslim male's type of headwear as a totally unnecessary sign of "respect", but which is more like degradation and definite appeasement, and gives a little more insight into how that degrading "option" was authorized for female soldiers to wear a burka on missions in Afghanistan?
After seeing this, I no longer have any respect for Petraeus, who shouldn't even be wearing what looks like a primitive coat.
He doesn't need to wear a military uniform; he could wear a suit and tie, but to wear what may be tribal gear is just as insulting as that headpiece.
The New York Post (via Jihad Watch) reports that the threatening package sent to Rep. Peter King was as disturbing as you can guess:
WASHINGTON -- The threatening package containing a bloody pig's foot sent to Rep. Pete King (R-LI) was as much a racist assault as it was religious hate mail, The Post has learned.
The rambling note accompanying the porcine parcel proclaimed that "white bitches" would soon be naming their sons Mohammed, said a Capitol Hill source.
The note contained anti-Semitic slurs, called the pig's foot a "Jew foot," taunted "kiss my black Muslim ass," and said King -- who is Catholic -- was targeted because of hearings he held on the radicalization of Muslim Americans.
King, chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, received numerous threats over the hearings and has been getting additional security.
The congressman's office would not comment on the threatening package other than to say it was cooperating with the investigation and referred questions to the Capitol Police.
US Postal Service screeners intercepted the package Monday at a postal facility before it reached King's office at the Capitol.
Was it a black Muslim who sent the package? Good question. The crazy writing seems to insult Muslim women at the same time, considering many are naming their children after Muhammed, and like many Arabs, the primary race Islam began with, are white, including Muhammed himself. It reminds me of this older case, an example of how Muslims can turn on each other, even possibly based upon skin color.
March comparable-store sales may have outpaced analysts’ estimates, retailers still find themselves in a precarious position as spring selling gets underway and fall orders are placed.
The hope is that job growth will continue to be strong enough to fuel consumer spending, but that bullish sentiment assumes the turmoil in the Middle East, the debt troubles in Europe and the nuclear fallout in Japan don’t worsen and somehow upset the economic recovery.
“Rising gas prices and food prices are really hammering the bottom, probably 80 percent of wage earners,” said Charles McMillion, chief economist at MBG Information Services. “[Consumers] have to buy gas to get to work and they have to buy food, so that means other things get put off,” he said.
AND OBAMA'S ANTI-DRILL/ANTI-COAL POLICIES MEAN THERE'S NO END IN SIGHT FOR RISING gas PRICES.
Among the more remarkable documents of the Holocaust is a scroll, created in North Africa in 1943, called “Megillat Hitler.” Written in the style of Megillat Esther and the Purim story, it celebrates the Allies’ liberation of Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia, which saved the local Jewish communities from the Nazis. What the scroll’s author did not realize, however, was that at the very moment he was setting quill to parchment, those same American authorities were actually trying to keep in place the anti-Jewish legislation imposed in North Africa by the Nazis.
On November 8, 1942, American and British forces invaded Nazi-occupied Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia. It took the Allies just eight days to defeat the Germans and their Vichy French partners in the region.
For the 330,000 Jews of North Africa, the Allied conquest was heaven-sent. The Vichy regime that had ruled since the summer of 1940 had stripped the region’s Jews of their civil rights, severely restricted their entrance to schools and some professions, confiscated Jewish property, and tolerated sporadic pogroms against Jews by local Muslims. In addition, thousands of Jewish men were hauled away to forced-labor camps. President Franklin Roosevelt, in his victory announcement, pledged “the abrogation of all laws and decrees inspired by Nazi governments or Nazi ideologists.”
But there turned out to be a discrepancy between FDR’s public rhetoric and his private feelings.
On January 17, 1943, Roosevelt met in Casablanca with Major-General Charles Nogues, a leader of the new “non-Vichy” regime. When the conversation turned to the question of rights for North African Jewry, Roosevelt did not mince words: “The number of Jews engaged in the practice of the professions (law, medicine, etc) should be definitely limited to the percentage that the Jewish population in North Africa bears to the whole of the North African population… The President stated that his plan would further eliminate the specific and understandable complaints which the Germans bore toward the Jews in Germany, namely, that while they represented a small part of the population, over fifty percent of the lawyers, doctors, school teachers, college professors, etc., in Germany, were Jews.” (It is not clear how FDR came up with that wildly exaggerated statistic.)
But it is clear that he was not the champion of human rights some think he was. He betrayed Jews in Africa just as much as in Europe. For all we know, WW2 could probably have been won much more easily if a president with much more morale than FDR had was in power at the time.
What this suggests is that FDR didn't enter the war with full sincerity about routing evil, and if he was willing to leave anti-Jewish laws in North Africa, then he wasn't sincere about helping the Jewish community either. It even tells that he was basically siding with the Islamic entity in North Africa.
At least 11 people, mostly children, died Thursday and more that 15 were wounded when an armed man attacked a school in Realengo in the poor suburbs of Rio de Janeiro.
According to a preliminary police report, the attacker - a 24- year-old former student at the school - was among the dead after shooting himself in the head. He attacked Tasso da Silveira school, where some 400 students ages 9-14 were in classes. [...]
Beltrami described the letter as 'the words of a person who no longer believes in anything, full of sentences that made no sense and references to Islamic fundamentalism.'
Shouldn't that be "no longer believes in anything BUT Islam"?
Beltrami said the attacker was friendly as he went into the school, chatting with administrators and teachers and asking for permission to address the children. When he reached the third floor of the building, the suspect entered one of the classrooms and started to shoot at students, killing nine girls and one boy.
The attacker apparently committed suicide upon being chased by a police officer who had been called in by a student who managed to escape the building
Roselane de Oliveira, a sister of the attacker, told Rio de Janeiro radio station Band News that the young man 'was very strange.'
'He had no friends, and he spent all his time on the Internet,' she said.
In recent months, she said, he appeared to have got closer to Islam.
Police stressed, however, that there was no concrete evidence that the attack had either a religious or a political motive.
Translation: they haven't read the Koran, and don't want to acknowledge how the writings of Muhammed condone murdering non-Muslims, women, Jews, and even fellow Muslims.
Following this, is Brazil going to wake up to what they've got in their own midst?
