NOW IN CANCUN - 8 KILLED:
Six women and two men have been killed in an attack on a bar in the Mexican resort city of Cancun, officials say.THE NARCO-TERRORISTS WANT TO TAKEOVER THE ENTIRE COUNTRY.Witnesses told police that six armed men had thrown petrol bombs into the building early on Tuesday, setting it ablaze, Quintana Roo state attorney-general Francisco Alor said.
Investigators were examining the wreckage of the bar, he added.
According to one report, the business had been the target of attempts to extort money by the Zeta drugs cartel.
OBAMA'S WEAKNESS IS A CONTRIBUTING FACTOR:
HE SUPPORTED THE COMMIE IN HONDURAS HE APPEASES CHAVEZ, HE DISSED COLOMBIA.
THIS SENDS A MESSAGE TO ALL OUR ENEMIES - AND THE ENEMIES OF OUR ALLIES: YOU CANNOT DEPEND ON THE USA AS LONG AS OBAMA IS POTUS.
IF WE WANT A STABLE NEIGHBOR IN MEXICO, THEN WE NEED A WALL AND WE NEED TO GET RID OF OBAMA.
UNTIL WE GET RID OF OBAMA, WE NEED TO HAMPER HIM - AND WE CAN DO THAT THIS NOVEMBER: VOTE GOP!
UPDATE: INSTAPUNDIT SEES WHAT I SEE:
IT'S GONNA GET MUCH MUCH WORSE.Posted at 10:29 pm by Glenn ReynoldsA FRIEND EMAILS FROM MEXICO: “Shit’s about to collapse in MX and points south. It is frightening. I am seeing first hand, am traveling. Total anarchy and terror unfolding.” Well, that’s encouraging. All those counter-insurgency and nation-building skills we’ve honed in Iraq might come in handy closer to home.
Or, you know, we could just legalize drugs and pull the rug out from under the cartels.
UPDATE: A followup email:
It’s so complex. The USA unilaterally legalizing weed, as many have proposed, wouldn’t stop the violence — there are any number of possible outcomes to that. The causes are complex and brewed over time… all I know is that all signs are pointing to a far worsening situation down there, and increasing impact here.
Militarizing the border isn’t a solution, but having seen what I’ve seen, I’d be terrified if we weren’t hardening that border right now.
Time to come back to the States, I think.

Speaking of Iraq: I’m sure academics could explain how Mexican drug gangs are totally unlike insurgents in Iraq, but I tell you, the groups’ modus operandi sound awfully similar. One marked difference, of course, is that few try to justify the gangs’ actions.
The world will take a big step forward when it understands that violent people are simply violent people.
Indeed.

In late 1934, he asked "Are you not aware that this so-called democratic country of ours has been controlled by the capitalist and the plutocrat?" The next month Coughlin opined " January 4, 1935, brings to an end the economic principles of individualism hitherto taught, practically in every university. It is the date which marks the termination of certain of those principles taught by Adam Smith, by John Stuart Mill and Malthus. Such outworn and impractical economic phrases as 'free competition' and 'rugged individualism' and 'laissez-faire' today are seeking a resting place in the limbo of archaic falsehoods…Thus, today, the members of the National Union for Social Justice can rejoice, while the avowed opponents of human rights – the Liberty Leaguers, the United States Chamber of Commerce members, the Manufacturers Association – can find scant consolation as their program for doles, for balanced budgets, for gold stands, for free rein in industrial activity are indirectly consigned to the wastepaper basket of ancient history. Let them heed the world of the President that 'we have undertaken a new order of things.' Let them be cautious, henceforth, because only at their own personal peril will they dare obstruct the rising of this sun of social justice which will not set until the new economic system will have been perfected."
