OBAMA'S MORAL HYPOCRISY ON CHILDREN'S HEALTHCARE AND ABORTION

It's typical of the Left, and Obama reiterated it in last night's ABC/NH debate: he said that if elected president he would force parents to buy healthcare for their children (if they could afford it) - SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE THE CHILDREN HAVE NO CHOICE.

BUT ... he wouldn't ever force an expectant mother to have her baby; (he even voted AGAINST the partial birth abortion ban!).

ER, UM... BARRY HUSSEIN SOETERO OBAMA, JUNIOR:

FETUSES HAVE NO CHOICE AND NEED LIFE AS MUCH AS THE CHILDREN NEED HEALTHCARE.

I also LOVE how Leftists refer to young American's as "OUR CHILDREN" - (indeed they are our future).

How come the Left regards the fetus as merely the non-human PROPERTY of the mother, and only the mother, not even the father)??

"Her" fetus has as much potential as "our" children. CHILDREN AND FETUSES ARE ALL HELPLESS AND ALL NEED OUR HELP AND PROTECTION.

For Obama to use helplessness as a rationale in one instant but ignore in the next is HYPOCRISY.

Authorities charged a married man Thursday with slipping his girlfriend an abortion drug that caused her to miscarry twice.

Manishkumar M. Patel, 34, of Appleton, was charged with seven felonies and two misdemeanors, including attempted first-degree murder of an unborn child, stalking, burglary and two counts of violating a restraining order.

His attorney, Thomas Zoesch, said he expected his client to plead not guilty.

Patel and his girlfriend, 39-year-old family physician Darshana Patel, have a 3-year-old child together, authorities said. They are not related, and he is married to someone else; Patel is a common Indian last name.

Darshana Patel became pregnant two more times but miscarried in December and September, Outagamie County sheriff's Capt. Michael Jobe said.

A week or two before her second miscarriage, Manishkumar Patel bought her a smoothie at an ice cream shop, Sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Carpenter said. Darshana Patel noticed white powder on the rim and, feigning illness, took the drink back to her office.

Suspecting she had been slipped mifespristone, the abortion pill also known as RU-486, Darshana Patel sent a sample of the smoothie to a California lab for analysis, Carpenter said.

When it tested positive for the drug, she approached the sheriff's department Nov. 1. Manishkumar Patel was arrested Wednesday.

Court Commissioner Brian Figy ordered Patel held on $750,000 bail after prosecutor Mark Schroeder said he had a net worth of $400,000 and investigators found evidence he had been looking at flights to Germany.

"The allegations are devious, diabolical and disturbing," Figy said.

NBC:

A Wisconsin man is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly giving his mistress a drug that caused two miscarriages.

Manish Patel is accused of slipping the drug mifespristone, also known as the abortion pill RU 486, into his girlfriend's drink during two separate pregnancies. The 39-year-old woman, who is a family physician, miscarried both times.

During her second pregnancy she became suspicious of a powder on the rim of a drink Patel bought her.

She had the substance tested and results confirmed it was the abortion drug. She then went to the county sheriff's office.

Investigators said they couldn't find a similar case anywhere in the country.
Patel, a legal immigrant from India, is being held on $750,000 dollars bond.

If convicted under Wisconsin's fetal homicide law he could be sentenced to life in prison.

Patel faces charges of attempted first-degree murder of an unborn child, stalking, burglary and violating a restraining order.

LUFKIN, Texas - In explicit letters written from jail, often signed with "love," 19-year-old Gerardo Flores tells his girlfriend how unworthy of him she is.

"Well, you fat, ugly troll I guess I'll let you go cuz I got tired of writting you and thinking what to put down, so hopefully I'll be especting a letter from you," Flores wrote in one of his handwritten letters to Erica Basoria, whose last name he sometimes spells "Basura," which in Spanish means trash.

Flores was convicted earlier this month on two capital murder charges for stepping on his pregnant girlfriend's stomach and causing the deaths of their unborn twin sons. He was sentenced to life in prison.

After Basoria, now 17, miscarried in May 2004, she signed an affidavit on Flores' behalf claiming she beat herself in the stomach and twice asked Flores to stand on her belly - once two weeks before she miscarried and a second time a week before.

Prosecutors, however, believe Basoria was abused by Flores and never asked him to stand on her growing abdomen nor inflicted any injury on herself.

Angelina County Assistant District Attorney Art Bauereiss says Basoria was just as much the victim of an abusive man as the twins she carried. Basoria was not charged in the twins' deaths.

For some, Flores' conviction has called into question the fairness of Texas' fetal protection law, which gives a fetus legal standing but exempts mothers and health care providers who perform a legal medical procedure.

"It's unfair that a doctor can perform an abortion, a wife can perform an abortion on herself ... (but) the person who helps them can go to prison for the rest of their life," said Flores' attorney Ryan Deaton, who plans to appeal Flores' conviction.

Deaton claims the law, passed in 2003, violates the equal protection clauses of both the U.S. and Texas constitutions.

Others, like Joe Pojman, executive director of the Texas Alliance for Life, which helped craft the fetal protection legislation, say the law is constitutionally sound and working as intended.

"Even the laws that protected babies from abortion before Roe vs. Wade in Texas and elsewhere, in no cases were women prosecuted under the laws," he said. "It was always the third party."

• Facing Reality, Choice - A Review:

I thought Fox did a pretty good job of doing an objective show on this issue. You'd never see anything like this on MSNBC or CNN, thats for sure. To start off I will readily confess that I have never been in a situation where I had to face a crisis pregnancy. I've only been pregnant 4 times and they were all when I was married. My 2nd child came along much earlier than planned and God had to help me rise to the occasion but nothing like what the women in the documentary faced.

That said, it was pretty sad seeing how so many women use abortion as a form of birth control. The 29 yr. old woman who had been pregnant 7 times made the right choice not to abort but her cavalier attitude towards pregnancy was alarming. She was pregnant with her 7th child and yet she didn't have custody of any of her kids and one of them had been born addicted to drugs. She confessed at the end of the documentary that she didn't know why she kept getting pregnant, just that she felt empty not being pregnant. The whole mentality was fairly alarming, she was hoping her and her boyfriend could stay off drugs and stay out of jail so she could keep her baby. I also know she isn't an isolated case, I've actually known women with this attitude and they keep having babies by different fathers.

I thought the situation with the young woman was sad and the fact that this was her second abortion was even sadder. I understand how easy it is for some of us to get pregnant but you can't use abortion for birth control. The time to make the right decision is before you get pregnant. I thought her justifications and rationalizations on how she thought she had made the right decision were just sad. I also found it sad that although her and her mom were "religious" and pro-life they really didn't seem to have that much of a problem with abortion. I also found it strange that while she was very upset during the procedure she was trying to say that wasn't reflecting her true feelings about it all, what???

When it came to the abortion doctor I was horrified when he said that he had done abortions on a girl as young as 9. The thought of a 9 year old having sex let alone getting pregnant and getting an abortion is just mind blowing. I also thought it was interesting how he tried to rationalize that he wasn't killing babies. Then, what exactly are you doing?

The couple that had the baby with the extra chromosone were the only ones who seemed to have a healthy attitude about everything. Life is left in God's hands, not ours.

No matter what your thoughts were about it, it was an eye opening experience into a tough subject.

Robin and I talked about the Haditha Marine case on my radio show a couple of weeks ago. Yet, it wasn't until I watched Sean interview Lance Cpl. Justin Sharratt and his father Darrell Sharratt that I felt myself really getting angry. The fact that these Marines lived through hell the past year and a half because of a Time Magazine hit piece and a traitorous Congressman is beyond comprehension. The Marines have all been exonerated of murder and not only does Congressman John Murtha owe the Marines, their families and this country an apology, he should resign. If he had any decency he would resign after accusing his fellow Marines of cold blooded murder when they were doing nothing but protecting our country and our freedoms. I was telling my husband last night that if this had happened during the Civil War or World War II Murtha would be tried on charges of treason and rightly so.

Darrell Sharratt detailed how he has called Congressman Murtha 52 TIMES and only got one return phone call. I am going to be calling and writing Congressman Murtha on a regular basis until we at least get an admission that he was horribly wrong when he accused these Marines of murder. This is why Jason Mattera deserves hero status for his bravery in confronting Murtha on all of this.

AFP: China plans tougher laws on sex-selective abortions

Fearing the approach of a ticking "bachelor bomb," China is planning tougher laws against sex-selective abortions that have boosted the number of boys in recent years, state media said Saturday.

The State Council, or cabinet, is drafting special regulations that specify punishments for parents and doctors who abort foetuses after discovering they are female, the Xinhua news agency reported.

Abortions motivated merely by gender are already illegal in China but existing laws do not specify the punishment for such acts, according to Xinhua, which gave no timetable for the new rules.

The sex ratio among Chinese toddlers is becoming ever more skewed as a direct result of the nation's one-child policy.

This is because couples that cannot give birth to an unlimited number of children are more likely to abort female foetuses in the hope of having a much-wanted son.

"The root cause is traditional thinking that boys are better than girls, especially in poverty-stricken areas," said Song Jiang, a population expert at Beijing's Renmin University. "Those people expect boys to support the family."

THIS IS A LIE; THE ROOT CAUSE IS CHINA'S TYRANNICAL SOCIALIST POLICY - FOR THE COMMON GOOD, OF COURSE - WHICH FORCES COUPLES LIMIT THEMSELVES TO ONE CHILD.

In some parts of China, sex-selective abortions have created a situation where there are more than three boys for every two girls, Xinhua said in a separate report. In a particularly striking example, there are 163.5 boys for every 100 girls in the city of Lianyungang in east China's Jiangsu province, according to Xinhua.

The statistics came from the state-controlled China Family Planning Association, which said in a survey that 99 cities had sex ratios higher than 125 boys to 100 girls. Previously published figures have showed that the national average in China in 2005 was nearly 119 boys to every 100 girls. The average global sex ratio at birth is about 105 under "natural" conditions. ...

Demographers are increasingly warning of the dangers the trend poses to social stability in China. The biggest worry is that a huge army of bachelors will result with an estimated 30 million more men than women. Some analysts argue that the disparity could become a force for social instability.

Under the one-child policy, introduced in about 1980, China's urban dwellers are allowed one child, while rural families can have two if the first is a girl.

Ruthless enforcement has triggered widespread opposition, especially in the countryside where children are valued as additional economic muscle. Riots have broken out against forced abortions and other measures, such as heavy fines, the destruction of homes and confiscation of property.

However ruling Communist Party officials and the rich often ignore the law themselves or pay the necessary fines. Despite its unpopularity, the policy has been effective in slowing China's demographic growth.

At 1.3 billion people it already has the world's biggest population but it is expected to be overtaken by India some time this century.

INDIA HAS A SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH FEMALE INFANTICIDE AND FOETICIDE.

GOVERNMENTS SHOULD HAVE NO BUSINESS TELLING COUPLES HOW MANY CHILDREN TO HAVE.

ONLY SOCIALIST GOVERNMENTS DO HAVE A STAKE IN FAMILY SIZE, AND WHEN GOVERNMENTS ELIMINATE THAT STAKE, THEN THEY WILL ELIMINATE THEIR MOTIVATION FOR LIMITING FAMILY SIZE.

"The banned method involves partially delivering a live fetus, then intentionally causing its death. Even before it was banned, the procedure was exceedingly rare, accounting for a fraction of 1 percent of all abortions.

Instead, doctors typically cause the fetus's death surgically while it is still inside the womb and then remove it."

RELIAPUNDIT: The difference between murdering a baby inside the womb and murdering a partially delivered BABY is a difference without a MORAL distinction.

Greene said that in the experienced hands of hospital staff, the injections add no risk and are "trivially simple," compared with other obstetrical procedures. The main downside, he said, is that "it is yet another procedure that the patient has to endure."

The only patient the doctor cares about is the so-called "mother"; not for a second is the fetus even considered a HUMAN BEING. How....clever... and immoral.

Wowsa. I have done some litigation in the area of lethal injection, and potassium chloride is typically the third drug used in the "three drug cocktail" most states use when they execution someone. It is a painful, painful drug that stops the heart. To mitigate that pain for prisoners, states give them sodium thiopental, which is a short-acting barbituate, then pancuronium bromide, which acts as a paralyzing agent, THEN they give the potassium chloride. It would be extremely painful for a prisoner to have an injection of potassium chloride alone. It stuns me that that's what they're using to kill these babies in utero.

Persons with more medical knowledge than I will hopefully write in and confirm this, but this is my understanding, based on the litigation I've done and the doctors I've spoken with.

LIKE I SAID: THIS IS INCREDIBLY HYPOCRITICAL OF THE LEFT.

AND INHUMANELY CRUEL.

Forbes/AP: The Brazilian Government is to going give poor people abortion pills ("morning after pills") for free:

Brazil's government has added "morning after" pills to its newly expanded birth control program in hopes of helping poor people reduce unwanted pregnancies and dangerous illegal abortions.

Health Minister Jose Gomes Temporao announced the addition a month after President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said the government would provide cheap birth control pills at 10,000 drug stores across Latin America's biggest country.

Speaking at a round-table discussion Monday sponsored by the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper, Temporao called the morning-after pill "an important tool for the prevention of unwanted pregnancies that will definitely be part of our strategy" to help Brazil's poor have the same access to birth control as its rich elite.

Reducing the numbers in poverty by reducing the number of poor people being born is somehow considered "enlightened" by the Left - whereas CUTTING TAXES to spur growth of the economy and lifting up th poor ECONOMICALLY is considered EVIL.

SICK. The Left is freakin' sick. BTW: These pills ABORT an "unwanted" pregnancy. PERIOD.
