Trump is using his fame to channel voter disgust for the ruling elite - politicians and pundits.
But, Trump offers no principled alternative, merely the vague promise he will do a better job. This has some credibility because of his decades of personal success.
His demeanor fluctuates between the grotesque and the wild. Like a carnival barker he seeks to excite and entice, not to illuminate or lead.
I have no confidence in his leadership because he is unprincipled, and that's why I believe he would make a terrible presidential candidate and a terrible president.
Ted Cruz is principled, and his principles are those I believe in and I think these principles will make America great again, and safe.
I hope Iowans look past Trump's braggadocio, bravura and BS, and Trump's pandering, and choose the deliberative and principled conservative: Cruz.
