BRAZIL'S STATE-RUN OIL COMPANY IN MASSIVE CORRUPTION SCANDAL

BBC: The head of Brazil's state-run oil giant Petrobras and five senior executives have resigned in the wake of a huge corruption scandal. Maria das Gracas Foster's departure follows the arrest and testimony of some three dozen executives at Petrobras and many of its suppliers.The board of Petrobras is due to meet on Friday to elect new executives. 

The scandal involves alleged price-fixing, bribes and kickbacks, which implicates Brazil's ruling party.

Police in Brazil are questioning the treasurer of the governing Worker's Party in connection with a scandal involving state oil giant Petrobras. Party Treasurer Joao Vaccari Neto was not formally arrested but was taken to a police station to make a statement. The move comes a day after Petrobras CEO Graca Foster formally resigned. Investigators allege that companies paid inflated prices for Petrobras contracts and that money was funnelled to the Worker's Party and its allies.
