Santorum and Newt - like Cain before them - are good at throwing red meat at the base.
It might get you a caucus win here and there and a standing ovation at a GOP debate or CPAC, but that will not defeat Obama.
You have to do more than get the base to win. You have to get moderates and independents.
Neither Newt or Santorum have any chance at that if they're at the top of the ticket.
As in ZERO chance. Nada. Riens. Zilch.
Besides being career politicians adept at throwing red meat at the base, neither Newt or Santorum - did I tell you they're two career politicians - have NO DECENT EXPERIENCE AS EXECUTIVES ANYWHERE IN ANYTHING: neither has EVER led a major organization or business or government or any government department or agency.
Neither has the experience to become an effective POTUS - who must be the decider, the executive and Commander in Chief.
Reagan was a union leader and a governor before becoming POTUS.
If being a good red meat thrower was all it took, then Rush would've been elected POTUS a thousand times. And his Veep would've been Mark Levin every time.
That ain't ever gonna happen.
And neither will a Santorum presidency or a Newt presidency.
Nominating either is political suicide for the GOP and national suicide because it will mean the re-election of Obama.
