THOSE WHO KNOW HIM BEST LIKE HIM LEAST:
Newt Gingrich’s former Republican colleagues in the House are more than a little nervous about the prospects of sharing a ticket with him in November.
While close to a dozen members of Congress have endorsed Gingrich, that figure is dramatically less than Mitt Romney, who’s been endorsed by roughly a quarter of the Republican conference. The bulk of them [Newt's endorsers] are from just two states, Georgia and Texas.
But Gingrich’s problem, his GOP congressional critics say, is less about how his style would play across regions than the likelihood that his mercurial personality could lead him to implode as a nominee, with the blowback burning Republicans up and down the ballot.
“With Newt as the nominee, everyday would be either excellent or awful. He’s an undisciplined messenger with huge baggage and abrasive to swing voters to boot. Newt’s our dream ticket to the minority,” said a conservative House Republican from the South.
“He’ll snatch defeat from a winnable race in similar fashion to what Sharron Angle did with Harry Reid.”NEWT IS PATHETIC AND WOULD LOSE TO OBAMA AND EVEN COST US THE HOUSE!
THE DEMOCRATS IN CONGRESS ARE RUNNING AWAY FROM OBAMA.
IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE GOP NOMINATED A MAN THAT GOP CONGRESSMEN WOULDN'T HAVE TO RUN AWAY FROM, TOO!
