HE FELL 1000 FEET AND WALKED AWAY. UNBELIEVABLE:
A climber has astonished rescuers by plunging almost 1,000ft down a mountain and emerging with only cuts and bruises.
The climber fell 1,000ft from a peak five miles east of Ben Nevis (pictured) The 35-year-old was found standing up and reading a map, all but unscathed after the death-defying fall in Scotland.
He had reached the summit of the 3,589ft Sgurr Choinnich Mor when he lost his footing and fell down the steep, craggy slope.
... He was said to be "shaking from extreme emotional shock and the sheer relief at still being alive".The man was found at 2,600ft, making his fall almost 1,000ft from the summit.
Sgurr Choinnich Mor is a fine pointed peak at the south-west end of the Grey Corries range. The summit ridge is quite narrow and the rocky north-west face drops steeply on the Glen Spean side of the mountain, but the south-east face overlooking the watershed at the head of Glen Nevis is more grassy. The south-west ridge goes over the outlying top, Sgurr Choinnich Beag, which is very similar in shape to its higher neighbour.
THIS WAS A MIRACLE.
