Israel will be to blame if peace talks fail, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday.
Abbas was speaking during a flight from Paris to Amman, AFP reported, and said that the settlement construction issue would determine the outcome of the talks.
He added that he would soon be making a speech at an Arab League meeting, in which he would announce some significant decisions.
Earlier on Tuesday, Abbas told radio station Europe 1 that he will stop talks if the settlement freeze is not reinstated.
"We don't want to stop the talks, but if the building continues, we will have to put a stop to them," Abbas said. "(Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu must know that peace is more important than settlements."
Abbas wanted blame not peace - if they wanted peace then talks could've begun 11 months ago, but they deliberately waited for 11 months and didn't agree to talks until there was only a month left to the UNPRECEDENTED freeze just so they could have an excuse to walk out.
REPEAT: the freeze was unprecedented: Arafat talked the whole time that settlements were expanding.
LOOKIT FOLKS: The Israeli withdrawals from Sinai and Gaza prove that Israel is prepared to give up land for peace, so existing settlements - whether they expand or not - aren't a valid excuse for Abbas.
BESIDES: Why should the West bank become Judenrein if Israel is expected to continue to have a 20% Arab population. If Arabs can live in Israel then Jews should be able to live in the West Bank.
REPEAT/REMINDER: The Israelis weren't holding up talks; it was the so-called moderates of Fatah who had refused to talk for the last few years.
BOTTOM-LINE: The settlements are an excuse and the peace talks are a sham.
THE TAKE AWAY: There will only be peace when the Arabs stop teaching hate.
THE SAD TRUTH: The Arabs will only stop teaching hate when they cease to teach Islam.
That's just the way it is; that's just the way it really is.
