Across Europe and North America, extreme cold and snow are setting records thanks to a pair of unusual weather patterns in each continentBABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!
The craziest images of the cold came from Madrid, Spain last week, which saw a rare snowstorm shut down Barajas Airport last Friday and Saturday and also forced local football matches to be postponed. Cold weather in France and in the United Kingdom also cancelled football matches, a rare occurrence in both countries.
The Danube River, which only freezes a few times a century, has frozen in Belgrade and Prague as a result of the bitter cold.
Across the Atlantic, the US is also experiecing a nation-wide cold snap not seen for several years. Boston, New York and other cities in the northeastern US saw snow last weekend and are expecting more this week. Temperatures are expected to be well below average in the northeast, with high temperatures as low as -10 in Boston in the forecast for later this week.
THIS PROVES - ONCE AGAIN - THAT THERE AIN'T NO SUCH EFFIN THING AS AGW.
HOW!? SIMPLE:
MAN-MADE CO2 HAVE GONE UP EVERY YEAR SINCE 1840, BUT TEMPS HAVEN'T; IN FACT, GLOBAL AVERAGE TEMP FOR 2008 WAS THE COLDEST IN THE LEAST EIGHT YEARS.
IF CO2>2008 THAN 2007, BUT TEMPS WERE LOWER, THEN AGW = BS.
