FOX/AP: Authorities say a man who died of possible cyanide poisoning at a Denver hotel was 29-year-old Saleman Abdirahman Dirie from Ottawa.
The medical examiner's office said Tuesday an autopsy is planned.
Police say he had been dead for several days when his body was discovered Monday in a room at The Burnsley Hotel, about four blocks from the State Capitol.
LGF:A large container of a white powdery substance was found in the man’s room on the fourth floor of The Burnsley hotel at 10th and Grant. Tests are now being done by the Denver Police Crime Lab to determine exactly what the substance is. The tests could take days.

The medical examiner's office said Tuesday they were awaiting toxicology results after an autopsy was conducted on the body of Saleman Abdirahman Dirie. Medical examiners reported a bitter, almond-like smell from Dirie's body after it arrived at the morgue Monday, indicating the possibility of cyanide poisoning.
