... the United States is the third-largest oil producer, behind Saudi Arabia and Russia. We could be producing more, but Congress has put large areas of potential supply off-limits. These include the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and parts of Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico. By government estimates, these areas may contain 25-30 billion barrels of oil (against about 30 billion of proven U.S. reserves today) and 80 trillion cubic feet or more of natural gas (compared with about 200 tcf of proven reserves).BOTTOM-LINE: What keeps these areas closed are Democrats.
What keeps these areas closed are exaggerated environmental fears, strong prejudice against oil companies and sheer stupidity.
A global recession, food shortages and high energy costs are ALL the result of Democrat/leftist/"green" policies.
VOTE ACCORDINGLY.

With the recent dicovery of oil in the Colorado Rockies (in the form of shale) and a huge field of oil in the Dakotas/Montana area, our known reserves now dwarf those of Saudi Arabia.
We could be the largest oil producing nation in the world. We might even be able to become the largest EXPORTING nation in the world.
Imagine that.
Instead, the Wahabbists gain more ground every day as they are fed on $100 + oil. For every 1000 barrels they can start a mega-mosque and breed their Jihadist insanity even more.
All thanks to the Democrats and the environmentalists.
Jeez, when you think about it, it's almost as if they want to destroy our country.
