French court reneges on judgement of Sarah Halimi's murderer

The court in charge of the case of the Malian Muslim who murdered Sarah Halimi is once again resorting to the excuse of "mental illness":
An Islamist migrant who police allege savagely murdered a 65-year-old Jewish woman in Paris is considered unfit to stand trial, according to a psychiatric evaluation. [...]

In January this year, Traore was determined to be fit to stand trial. He was placed in a psychiatric hospital for weeks after his arrest despite having no history of mental illness.

But a judge requested a second series of tests, which determined that the Malian immigrant was not able to stand trial, 20 Minutes reported on Wednesday.

“We do not understand the determination and procrastination that consistently seeks to turn this killer into a demented person, when he is a murderer whose presumed detention doesn’t even hide his hateful anti-Semitism,” Francis Kalifat of the Jewish umbrella group CRIF said after the decision was made not to proceed to trial.

The official response to the murder from the government, prosecutors, and the media has caused much anger and hurt amongst Parisian Jews.
I think there's reason to go to demonstrate again, and have the Israeli/USA governments make a firm call for putting the proper judgement back on track again. This shows just how corrupt the judicial system - and the press - in France is, even going out of their way to let rapists off the hook. And they're going to pay for it very heavily sooner or later.

The new evaluation reinforces the perception among the French Jewish community that authorities are trying to make this case go away. The community is also outraged that it took more than four months before the case was classified as a hate crime and has criticized the little media coverage it received.

[...] Traore has a criminal record and served time in prison over various incidents involving drugs, break-ins and violence. According to Halimi's daughter, he would occasionally call Halimi "a dirty Jew." Eyewitnesses also said that on the night of the murder, first responders did not try to stop him despite being dispatched to scene before he killed her.
Those authorities who refused to take any action are just as guilty as the Islamofascist himself.

DC just hired the wrong woman to write Wonder Woman

It may be a great idea to have a woman assigned to script Wonder Woman. Mindy Newell once did some work on WW in the last issues of the pre-Crisis volume. But Dan DiDio, again overshadowing EIC Bob Harras, has just made one of the most lugubrious choices for a scribe, G. Willow Wilson, who's as bad a choice for a writer as they come:
Writer G. Willow Wilson and artist Cary Nord are taking over DC Comics' Wonder Woman ongoing with November 14's Wonder Woman #58. Their first storyline, "The Just War," begins with Wonder Woman going to save Steve Trvor after his military unit come up missing in action while inside a war-torn Eastern European country; while investigating, Diana finds Ares.

"When Steve Trevor’s unit goes missing in an Eastern European country torn by revolution, Wonder Woman immediately flies across the globe to help him - only to slam into the brick wall that is Ares, the God of War, who’s taken a strange interest in this conflict," reads DC's description of the arc. "But why is Ares acting so strange? Has he turned over a new leaf? Does Wonder Woman have a chance to redeem him? And just as important...if Ares has returned to Earth, then what happened to the supposedly unbreachable prison built to contain him—Wonder Woman’s homeland, Themyscira?"

DC Co-Publisher Dan DiDio descibes Wilson's hiring as "an incredible opportunity" for the publisher, saying DC "couldn't be more excited.

“Keeping our core audience engaged requires having the best storytellers around, and she’s definitely a great addition to our current list of writing talent," DiDio said.
Well I think this says all we need to know about where he stands on her own leftist politics...and religion. She already pushed enough Islamic propaganda into the Muslim Ms. Marvel series, so we can only wonder what she has in store for this tale? I get the feeling it's supposed to be a metaphor for the Bosnia vs. Serbia war, which happens to have been started by Bosnian Muslims themselves. And are we supposed to believe Ares started such a war, not the Religion of Peace itself? Either way, it doesn't take much to figure Wilson's planned story, metaphorical or not, won't be very appealing.

Of all the defeatist steps DC could've taken, this has to be one of the worst. To give Bill Marston's famous Amazon fighter to somebody as awful as Wilson is one of the biggest slaps in the face possible, and just another reason why DiDio's bad news for the company.

What's happened with the Lev Tahor cult?

The Times of Israel reminds us of the Islamic-influenced Haredi cult whose overlord, Shlomo Helbrans, met divine punishment the other year, and now it appears they've all but vanished from the public eye:
It’s been almost a year since Shlomo Helbrans drowned in Mexico, leaving Lev Tahor, the controversial religious sect he founded in Israel in the 1980s, without its charismatic leader.

The flock, which followed Helbrans from Jerusalem’s Beit Yisrael neighborhood to Brooklyn to the snowy suburbs of Montreal before settling in tropical Guatemala, now faces an uncertain future.

Driven by Helbrans’s anti-Zionist beliefs and known for its extreme customs — women and girls are covered head-to-toe by full-length black garments, marriages are arranged and separation by gender is strictly enforced — Lev Tahor has been dogged by legal troubles everywhere it’s gone.

[...] News about Lev Tahor has been scarce in the year since Helbrans’ death. Little is known of how they are weathering subsequent blows, including the rumored death of Helbrans’ daughter, Miriam, of an allergic reaction, two weeks after her father’s passing.
If they're trying to build mango groves, they don't deserve to, in all due honesty, and it's time to shut them down to stop the child abuse they're still very likely to be committing. The cult's been nothing but trouble, worst of all to their own subjects, and should not be allowed to continue functioning anywhere.

Ocasio-Cortez to Be Among the Most Fanatical Israel-Hater Democrats in Congress

This post assumes that Ocasio-Cortez wins her general election contest in November. New York's 14th congressional district is heavily progressive with minority-majority demographics. I haven't seen any serious commentary so far suggesting her Republican opponent, Anthony Pappas, is likely to win. As the New York Post reported, "Pappas’ bid is a long shot. Democrats outnumber Republicans in the district by roughly 6-1, voter registration records show."

Okay, should Ocasio-Cortez take her seat in Congress next year, it's also safe to assume she's be one of the most fervently anti-Israel Democrats in the House.

I haven't seen the major newspapers, such as the New York Times, for example, pick up on this aspect of the Ocasio-Cortez story, but it's a big one. It's not just that the Democrats are openly embracing a Marxist ideological program, but also that virulent anti-Israel ideology has bubbled up into the mainstream. This is of course not new to conservative bloggers and top Twitter personalities, but a focus on Ocasio-Cortez's public comments will put the Democrats' oft-hidden anti-Israel animus in the spotlight.

Here's a roundup of commentary from conservative blogs and pro-Jewish outlets.

First is the big story from the other day, at the Daily Caller, "Socialist Darling Caught Celebrating, Campaigning With Known Anti-Semite and Racist":


Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez stunned the political world and rank-in-file Democrats by defeating incumbent Joe Crowley in Tuesday’s New York primary. The Ocasio-Cortez win signaled the growing swing leftward for national Democrats, a party undergoing a power struggle and identity crisis after Trump’s election victory in 2016. The platform Ocasio-Cortez ran on was deeply progressive, calling on the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, nationalized health care, universal jobs guarantee and getting America to 100 percent green energy.

However, footage reveals that Ocasio-Cortez also has associates with regressive views.

One of Ocasio-Cortez’s most enthusiastic campaigners and a man who stood behind her at her victory party, Thomas Lopez-Pierre, is a known anti-Semite and racist. Lopez-Pierre has regularly used slurs against Jewish and black New Yorkers in public forums and while running for office himself.

While running for office in 2017, Lopez-Pierre specifically campaigned on “protecting tenants from greedy Jewish landlords.” Lopez-Pierre’s own campaign website shows his rantings agains “Greedy Jewish Landlords.” His campaign website applauds the arrest of “Greedy Jewish Landlords” and says that “Jewish Landlords” are “punishing” black and Hispanic families...

Okay, then, let's go to Joel Pollak, at Breitbart, "Pollak: New Democrat Heroine Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Is an Anti-Israel Radical":


Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the 28-year-old democratic socialist who became an instant Democratic Party heroine by unseating party caucus chair Rep. Joe Crowley (D-NY) in Tuesday’s New York primary, is an anti-Israel radical.

Her victory is a further sign of the Democratic Party’s slide toward the extreme left — and toward the anti-Israel left in particular.

During her primary election, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted passionately about an alleged Israeli “massacre” of Palestinian “protesters” at the Gaza border, citing an Al Jazeera article.

The Jewish radicals of J Street will, no doubt, be thrilled to have another member of Congress who supports Hamas over Israel, and will rush to her defense. But for the few Democrats who still support Israel, her victory is worrying.

Ocasio-Cortez’s anti-Israel views are of a piece with her radical policies in general — such as government health care for all, free college tuition, guaranteed federal jobs, and abolishing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). (At least she is consistent: she does not believe in a border fence with Gaza or a border wall with Mexico.) Her campaign even adopted the zombie-like “mic check” first seen at radical Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011.

Ocasio-Cortez’s anti-Israel views, like her other socialist policies, are ill-informed and would have devastating consequences if enacted. She is not stupid: far from it, the Boston University graduate is whip-smart. But like other far-left millennials, she has mastered the finer details of a fictional universe.

These are positions she will not easily walk back. Her victory has thrilled the Democratic base, but it spells trouble for the party, and for the country.

Prominent progressives like Sen. Bernie Sanders and activist Linda Sarsour are vying with each other to laud Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who notched a David-and-Goliath upset victory over 10-term Rep. Joe Crowley in Tuesday’s Democratic primary in New York.

Her victory — with 57% of the vote — raises larger questions about the party’s direction, including whether she won despite or because of her stinging comments about Israel on the campaign trail. Could her upset win be another sign that Democratic voters want the party to be more critical of the Jewish state?

“We’re seeing a pattern where the activist core of the Democratic Party is becoming highly critical of Israel almost as a default position,” Brooklyn College history professor KC Johnson, who has written about this shift, told the Forward on Wednesday.

Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign in a fast-changing Queens district was almost solely focused on domestic causes like “Medicare-for-All” and abolishing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Her campaign website doesn’t mention anything about foreign affairs on its issues page.

But she did attract attention in May for calling the Israeli army’s killing of Palestinian protesters in Gaza a “massacre.”

Erdogan's imminent reelection will only further a serious problem for the sane world

A Fox News contributor accurately notes the likelihood Recep Erdogan, Turkey's dictator, will continue in the role for at least another decade:
Some voters have the hope of an opposition victory as the result of Erdogan’s lackluster campaign and a spiraling currency crisis. It’s more realistic, however, to start thinking about the problem that his victory is bound to cause for the rest of the world, and especially for the U.S.

Pollsters recalculating the probability of a victorious or defeated Erdogan forget one important feature of Turkey’s so-called democracy: it isn’t one. Erdogan has already stacked the cards for his own success in this election.

After the fixed outcome arrives, Erdogan will lead a Turkey that is more militarily interventionist throughout the broader Middle East and more willing to cooperate with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the cost of the U.S. interests, and those of NATO and the European Union.
It'll come at Israel's expense too, as I'm sure many realize. Already, in fact, as this article tells, it looks like Erdogan's already ensured his fixed victory too:
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan took a commanding lead in his bid Sunday for a presidency with broadly expanded powers, with partial results reported by the country’s state-run news agency showing him with more than 50 percent of the vote — enough to avoid a runoff.

The high-stakes presidential contest and a parliamentary election also held Sunday were set to either consolidate Erdogan’s grip on power or curtail his vast political ambitions. The vote will complete Turkey’s transition from a parliamentary to a new executive presidential system, a move approved in a referendum last year.
Presidential, you say? More like dictatorial. The results are no shock at all, and only inform us Erdogan's going to be a despot for much longer time. For which reason, it's high time sanctions were imposed upon Turkey, until his regime can be stopped.

Leftist traitor Gonen Segev arrested for spying on Israel for Iran

Gonen Segev, who accepted bribes to join Yitzhak Rabin's Labor government in 1993 and was partly responsible for enabling the Oslo accords, has been arrested on charges of espionage for the country that's currently proving the worst nuclear threat in the Islamic world:
Former government minister Gonen Segev has been charged with spying for Iran, Israel’s Shin Bet internal security agency announced on Monday.

The former energy and infrastructure minister – who also spent time in jail for drug smuggling, forgery and fraud – was arrested on suspicion of assisting the enemy in a time of war, spying against the State of Israel, and providing intelligence to the enemy.

An indictment was filed in the Jerusalem District Prosecutor’s Office on June 15 and approved by the attorney-general and the state attorney.

Segev is suspected of providing his Iranian handlers with intelligence related to Israel’s energy industry, security sites, buildings and officials in Israeli political and security bodies, and more.

According to the Shin Bet, Segev arrived for a visit in May to Equatorial Guinea, where he was refused entry to the country due to his criminal past.

Security authorities had gathered intelligence indicating that Segev was maintaining contacts with Iranian intelligence and assisting them in their activities against the State of Israel. The Israel Police subsequently requested his extradition to Israel, where he was immediately arrested upon his arrival for questioning by the Shin Bet.

The investigation by the Shin Bet and the Israel Police found that Segev was recruited and acted as an agent on behalf of Iranian intelligence. In 2012, Segev first met with elements of the Iranian Embassy in Nigeria, knowing they were from Iranian intelligence, and later traveled twice to Iran to meet with his handlers.

The investigation also found that Segev, who received a secret communications system to encrypt messages between him and his Iranian handlers, met with his handlers around the world, in hotels and apartments used for clandestine Iranian activity.

In order to meet the tasks he received from his handlers, Segev maintained ties with Israeli citizens who are related to Israel’s security and foreign relations. According to the Shin Bet, Segev tried to connect some of the Israeli citizens to Iranian intelligence, all the while trying to fool them and present the Iranian as innocent businessmen.
It's horrific, alright, and not even the first time he was charged with serious felonies. As the following states:
Segev was born in Israel in 1956 and served as a military pilot in the Israeli Air Force in the 1970s, reaching the rank of captain. Following his service, he studied medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and became a medical doctor.

He was elected to the Knesset in 1992 as part of the now-defunct, hawkish opposition Tzomet Party and was lured to join Yitzhak Rabin’s government as energy minister in 1994 before he quit politics.

He was arrested and convicted for drug smuggling and credit card fraud in 2005 after attempting to smuggle 32,000 ecstasy (MDMA) tablets from the Netherlands into Israel. He was released in 2007 after serving two years of a five-year sentence. Segev, who said he thought the tablets were M&Ms, moved to Nigeria where he practiced medicine after his license was revoked in Israel.
It's regrettable he didn't serve enough time. One of the reasons he left politics was because his betrayal of the Tzomet party and public by supporting the Oslo accords only ensured nobody wanted to vote for the splinter party he formed with 2 other traitors. That he'd turn to serious crimes later on only proves he never learned any lessons, and probably felt vindictive for being rejected for his prior offenses. Now, it's to be hoped he'll face more convincing justice for aiding the enemy and the Religion of Peace, and endangering the country ever further. He should practically be locked away with the very adherents of Islam he was collaborating with. A most truly repellent man Segev is indeed. If there was an archive established for research on evil people, he could make a great candidate for inclusion in it.

And the pace has accelerated....

 It is the party of Henry Wallace and Bernie Sanders, not the arty of JFK and Truman....

Gaza Muslims manufacture 5000 kite bombs

The arson-style attacks perpetrated by the Islamofascists in Gaza with kites have become horrific, and lately, as many as 5000 were prepared for terrorizing the Jewish neighborhoods in the area (via Pamela Geller):
The IDF struck a target in the southern Gaza Strip on Thursday, two hours after it fired warning shots in the same area toward Palestinians who were preparing airborne incendiary devices near the Bureij refugee camp.

“The IDF struck an infrastructure near the area where a squad had previously been preparing Molotov cocktails in the southern Gaza Strip,” the IDF said. “The IDF considers the use of incendiary kites and balloons to be severe, and will act to prevent their use.”

The announcement came shortly after Palestinians reported that a drone launched a missile at people near the border fence who were flying balloons with Molotov cocktails attached, and unconfirmed reports by Israeli media that Palestinians planned to launch 5,000 incendiary balloons and kites toward Israel from the Hamas-run Strip to mark Eid al-Fitr on Thursday night.

Gazans have been protesting along the border with Israel since March 30 as part of what organizers have called the “Great March of Return.” Demonstrators have been throwing stones, Molotov cocktails and rocks toward Israeli troops and flying incendiary kites and balloons into Israeli territory, destroying more than 900 hectares (2,200 acres) of forest, nature reserves and agricultural fields.

On Thursday, several fires broke out near Kibbutz Be’eri and in the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council from incendiary kites flown from Gaza. Firefighting teams fought to put out the blazes.

Speaking at a conference at Bar-Ilan University on Thursday, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said that while Israel has managed to intercept more than two-thirds of the kites that have been launched toward Israeli territory, “It is impossible to hermetically seal the sky.”

“But we are looking for solutions and I am sure we will find a solution,” he said, adding that “the trick is to strengthen deterrence and prevent the launch itself.”
The only solution is to re-raid and take control of Gaza again, if they don't want any worse horrors to occur. It's going to have to be done, sooner or later.

If the Bataclan sees nothing wrong with running a concert by an Islamofascist, then they should be boycotted

News came up in the past week that an Islamic rapper named Medine was going to perform at the very concert hall in Paris where one of the worst terrorist bloodbaths took place. A man who practically legitimized violence:
A row erupted has over a planned performance by a controversial Muslim rapper at the Bataclan, where 90 people were killed during the November 2015 Paris attacks.

Laurent Wauquiez, leader of the conservative party, The Republicans, said the concert would be “a sacrilege for the victims and a dishonour for France.”

Two lawyers acting for relatives of those killed and injured in the Bataclan massacre said they would launch legal action to get Médine’s planned shows on October 19 and 20 cancelled on the grounds that they pose a threat to public order.

Right-wing MPs started an online petition titled “No to the rapper Médine”, which has garnered more than 9,000 signatures.

Médine, whose full name is Médine Zaouiche, is known for provocative lyrics about Islam and France’s secular tradition. One of his albums is called ‘Jihad’.

However, the 35-year-old rapper, born in the Channel port of Le Havre, has offered his condolences to the families of those killed in the Paris attacks. He says he is against violence and the jihad he is referring to is an individual, internal struggle.

Liberals see him is an artist who wants to shock people into thinking about difficult issues in new ways, but lyrics such as “I put fatwas on the head of jerks” and “crucify the secularists” have shocked and disgusted conservatives.
If he's parroting the kind of propaganda that rose in recent years to claim "jihad" doesn't translate as religiously-motivated war, then he's committed taqqiya (deception), and doesn't deserve an audience.
Bruno Retailleau, a Republican senator, urged the government to employ “the same weapons against this rapper as those used against Dieudonné,” a comedian who has been convicted and fined for hate speech against Jews and condoning terrorism. Several of Dieudonné’s shows were banned under the former government of President François Hollande.

The row comes after survivors and families of victims of the Bataclan attack, which was claimed by Isil, filed a legal complaint on Friday over the failure of soldiers near the venue to intervene. They had been ordered not to enter the Bataclan. The case, which also seeks an explanation about why special forces were not deployed, could prove embarrassing for military commanders and political leaders in office at the time.
On this, here's another report revealing that when Francois Hollande's government was in charge, the tragedy was worse than previously thought:
Survivors and families of victims of the 2015 Bataclan attack in Paris filed a legal complaint Friday over the inaction of some soldiers that night in what could expose egregious failings within France's military and political commands.

The legal complaint was triggered by the testimony of a top military commander who gave evidence during a parliamentary investigation of the actions of police and military on the night of the attacks of November 13, 2015.

General Bruno Le Ray, Military Governor of Paris, defended the order that prevented eight soldiers located near the Bataclan concert hall from intervening in the attack because he thought “it unthinkable to put soldiers at risk just hoping, hypothetically, to save other lives”, Samia Maktouf, a Paris lawyer for the survivors and victims’ families, told FRANCE 24.

She said the soldiers were told not to use their weapons or even administer first aid to the many victims at the music venue during the two-hour siege by jihadists affiliated to the Islamic State (IS) group.
This is utterly jaw-dropping in the complete contempt that was displayed for defenseless human life. It even explains why police failed to act when Sarah Halimi was murdered. A lot of politicians and authoritarians alike are going to have to be held accountable, and should be thrown in prison, preferably alongside the same tyrants they allowed to get away with the barbarism.

Everyone concerned should give their support to the families of the victims of the horror at the Bataclan. And if the managers of the concert hall are that apathetic and tolerant of the very ideologies that led to the bloodbath, the French public should vote with their wallets and boycott the Bataclan. It's stunning how uncaring the management of the very location where the massacre took place could be, rejecting the Eagles of Death Metal band members who spoke out, yet fully accepting even scum like Sting who kowtow to Islamofascism out of delusions. Even the Bataclan's managers may have to be called in to testify what they knew behind the scenes.

 The socialist party has also broken ranks with the left and joined the right on immigration issues.

 There is hope...

 Denmark has a diverse population of foreigners; most are Non-Western and the biggest group of non-Westerners are muslims - syrians and turks.

  I think Denmark should remain Danish p just as France should remain French, and so on.

 NO Immigration without assimilation.

 And that means controlling who comes in and how many and doing a good job of assimilating the ones from non-Western cultures.

Macron blames Trump for the Hamas violence

Caroline Glick tells how French president Emmanuel Macron is endangering the region - and come to think of it, his own country - by validating Hamas:
Macron’s skillful diplomacy and fine judgment was on display once again on Tuesday. Standing next to visiting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Macron decided that the best way to prove his importance was by attacking Trump.

This time Macron didn’t do it by physically assaulting him on live TV. Instead, Macron chose to blame Trump for the lethal consequences of Hamas’s three-month-old terror operation against Israel along the Gaza-Israel border.

Some 110 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces deployed along Israel’s border with Gaza to protect Israel from Hamas penetration and terror. Hamas has acknowledged that at least half of the fatalities were its terrorists.

In the framework of this ongoing operation, Hamas buses hundreds of non-combatants to the border to serve as human cannon fodder. Hamas terrorists, interspersed among the crowds, use civilian cover to launch various types of assaults against Israel. These assaults have included border infiltration, mortar and rocket attacks, Molotov cocktails, and destruction of sections of the border fence.

Over the past week, the center of Hamas’s efforts against Israel moved to environmental terrorism. Hamas terrorists have launched hundreds of kites carrying Molotov cocktails and other incendiary devices across the border. Thousands of acres of farmland and nature reserves have been scorched.

Standing next to Netanyahu on Tuesday, Macron ignored all of that. He alleged that Hamas’s violent assault against Israel is a consequence of Trump’s decision to move the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Israel’s capital city, Jerusalem, on May 14. Macron claimed that the embassy move provoked violence and did not promote peace.

In his words, “If this leads to people dying it’s not a celebration.”
*Ahem* If the Hamas encourages/pressures anybody to commit violence in the name of racism and evil, that's what should not be celebrated. Yet this man now crosses the line with deplorable statements against the POTUS, and it goes without saying that not only are Macron's statements offensive, but he also owes Trump an apology.
Macron’s statement was not an isolated attack. Speaking at a conference in St. Petersburg on May 25, he called the embassy move “an error,” and said that the U.S. could no longer be considered an honest mediator in future negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.

Last week, France voted in favor of a Kuwaiti-sponsored draft resolution at the UN Security Council which called for UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres to produce a written report within 60 days on ways to ensure “the safety, protection and well-being of the Palestinian civilian population under Israeli occupation.”

That draft resolution failed to mention Hamas by name or note that Israel removed its military from Gaza 12 years ago. It failed to mention that Hamas has controlled all aspects of life in Gaza since 2007. After ignoring basic realities of life in Gaza, the draft resolution instructed the Secretary General to include recommendations about “an international protection mechanism” for the Palestinians against Israel in his written report.

U.S. Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley, who vetoed the resolution, called it “grossly one-sided and morally bankrupt.”
I think Macron's got it all backwards. A government like his cannot be considered reliable, and now he may have forced Jewish residents of France to conclude they'll have to continue leaving the country while Islamofascists continue to endanger the rest of the population. He should be ashamed of himself, and the time has come to call him out on how incredibly dangerous his policies are. The anti-American approach politicians like him have been going by has got to stop. And again, Macron should apologize to Trump.

Sana Amanat posted some disturbing tweets after C.B. Cebulski said Marvel was committed to "diversity"

Bounding Into Comics and Douglas Ernst posted some screencaps of messages written by Marvel editor Sana Amanat, just shortly after C.B. Cebulski boasted the former House of Ideas was behind alleged diversity:
She perpetuates the falsehood that Republicans are nothing but racists/sexists on the one hand, and babbles that one day everyone will be "brown". And even claims she supposedly doesn't advocate Islamic sharia. And Marvel continues to keep her on their payroll? This sure doesn't make me feel encouraged to buy their modern output again. BIC says:
Can Marvel really be 100% diverse when people like Sana Amanat are working at the company and believe “diversity is stupid.” Can Marvel be 100% committed to diversity when Sana Amanat claims she wants everyone to be “brown?” Can Marvel be diverse when their Director of Content and Character Development thinks Republicans hate “Mexicans, Jews, Muslims, women, native Americans, the environment, science, and KIDS?”

It doesn’t look like Marvel actually embraces diversity on any level. They don’t really want racial diversity. And they surely don’t want intellectual diversity. Like many people who share her point of view, they’re looking for lockstep conformity to their own worldview. It reminds me of a catchphrase from Star Trek’s Borg. “Resistance is Futile.”
They also spoke with artist Jon Malin about this, and he said:
Regarding the publishing end of Marvel, Cebulski needs to focus less on the color of his employees skin or cultural backgrounds and get down to stone cold f****** business. This PC s*** should have ran it’s course when he came on and it’d be laughable if peoples livelihoods weren’t on the line and retailers weren’t falling left and right. We (fans, distributors, retailers, artists, convention organizers, EVERYONE) need absolute KILLERS in Marvel from top to bottom to turn this ship around and it’s overflowing with f****** talks of race, gender representation of it’s employees and other nonsense while the damn ship is sinking. I’m reminded of a quote from it’s former EIC Joe Quesada, a KILLER, when he said years ago…. allow me to paraphrase to make my point…’What the f*** is MARVEL COMICS anyway? They’d be better off calling it PC Comics. At least people know what PC is. I mean, they have Wolverine and Spider-man, and they don’t know what to do with them. That’s like being a porn star with the biggest dick and you can’t get it up. What the f***?'
The mistake Cebulski made besides not cross-examining employees like Amanat was stating Marvel was focused on diversity instead of stating their focus was on entertainment and making the audience happy with decent escapism. However, Quesada's quote is hilarious considering within a short time of his ascension to EIC during 2001-2011, he turned the company very PC, barring depictions of smoking, for example, a very short time after Marvel stopped using the Comics Code Authority. One of the few who was allowed to depict anybody smoking at the time was Brian Bendis when he wrote Avengers. And let's not forget how PC Quesada was with the Spider-Man lore, tarnishing Gwen Stacy before going out of his way to break up Peter Parker's marriage to Mary Jane Watson through a pact with Mephisto. And that's just a few of the examples that took place when Quesada was EIC, and got considerably worse by the late 2000s.

For now, if something's clear, Amanat has to be held accountable for her crude garbage comments, and should be told to apologize, which so far, she doesn't seem to have done. Until then, the audience can vote with their wallets and avoid anything she's working on.

PLO leads to cancellation of a soccer match with Argentina

A terrible embarrassment has occurred as an Argentinian soccer team cancelled a game in Israel, caving to threats from jihadists:
The Israeli embassy in Argentina officially announced on Tuesday night that the friendly match scheduled for this Saturday between the national soccer teams of Argentina and Israel has been cancelled.

"The threats and provocations against Lionel Messi, which logically raised fears against holding the game, are not foreign to the daily lives of the Israeli population, whose athletes have often been the target of violence and terror attacks," the embassy said in a series of tweets.

Reports in Argentina on Tuesday night said the match was cancelled earlier following Palestinian Arab pressure on the Argentine team not to play in Jerusalem.

Culture and Sports Minister Miri Regev (Likud) later spoke with the organizer of the friendly [match].

Regev’s office said in a statement following the meeting that she had been told that ever since the Argentine national team announced it would play in Israel, various terrorist organizations have been sending messages and threats to the team’s players and their families, with explicit threats to harm their lives and their family's lives. Among other things, the players were sent videos and pictures of children's bodies.

Minister Regev said, "I hope that Argentina's players will not succumb to the terror threats and to the BDS organizations."
If they have, they've succumbed to utter cowardice in an era when courage is needed. This is another offense the PLO and their minions have committed on their part, for which they have to be condemned, and more sanctions should be imposed upon them.

Bill Cosby supports Louis Farrakhan

Bill Cosby's already been convicted on 3 counts of sexual assault, and is now awaiting his official sentencing while under house arrest. But look what he had posted on his Twitter page nearly a week ago:

He's giving his support to the overlord of the Nation of Islam? The same man who even defended Mike Tyson after he raped Desiree Washington in the early 90s? Well...I think this says pretty much all we need to know about Cosby's mindset, where he stands and where he's going. In the documentary review I linked to, it says the following:
Kopple gives Tyson credit for his talent and skill as a boxer and provides a context for the violence in his life, but she doesn’t cut him any slack for his rape of beauty contestant Desiree Washington in Indianapolis in 1991. The director also provides the pop-cultural framework for Tyson’s conviction and the six-year sentence he’s now serving, including a chilling clip from a rally in support of Tyson in which Louis Farrakhan defends the boxer by hectoring the women in his audience. ”How many times, sisters,” he shouts, ”have you said ‘No’ and you meant ‘Yes’?”
What Farrakhan did was - and still is - sick and repellent, just as Cosby's backing for Farrakhan is now. Cosby said at least a few more items that backfired big time, and this would have to be the capping of the sewage cover for his undeserved career. He's really done it this time, and only ensure a lot less people will care to check out his past resume. Cosby's sentencing can't come soon enough, and among the things he'll have to be remembered for besides his rape crimes themselves, it'll have to include his support for apologists of the same.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes appeared on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday, where he provided a potentially explosive hint at what’s driving his demand to see documents related to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Trump-Russia probe. “If the campaign was somehow set up,” he told the hosts, “I think that would be a problem.”

Or an understatement. Mr. Nunes is still getting stiff-armed by the Justice Department over his subpoena, but this week his efforts did force the stunning admission that the FBI had indeed spied on the Trump campaign. This came in the form of a Thursday New York Times apologia in which government “officials” acknowledged that the bureau had used “at least one” human “informant” to spy on both Carter Page and George Papadopoulos. The Times slipped this mind-bending fact into the middle of an otherwise glowing profile of the noble bureau—and dismissed it as no big deal.

But there’s more to be revealed here, and Mr. Nunes’s “set up” comment points in a certain direction. Getting to the conclusion requires thinking more broadly about events beyond the FBI’s actions.

Think of the 2016 Trump-Russia narrative as two parallel strands—one politics, one law enforcement. The political side involves the actions of Fusion GPS, the Hillary Clinton campaign and Obama officials—all of whom were focused on destroying Donald Trump. The law-enforcement strand involves the FBI—and what methods and evidence it used in its Trump investigation. At some point these strands intersected—and one crucial question is how early that happened...

USA embassy has finally been established in Jerusalem

Today, a most joyous, positive event has taken place. The opening of the American embassy in Jerusalem:
President Donald Trump delivered a video address at the ceremony opening the official United States embassy in Jerusalem, recognizing the historic impact of his decision.

“The plain reality that Israel’s capital is Jerusalem,” Trump said, calling the decision about the location of the embassy “a long time coming.”

Trump announced his decision to relocate the U.S. embassy in December 2017, fulfilling a campaign promise.

“Today we follow through on this recognition and open our embassy in the historic and sacred land of Jerusalem and we’re opening it many, many years ahead of schedule,” he said.
As Miriam Adelson notes here, it's a great day for Israel:
When the U.S. inaugurates its new embassy in Jerusalem today, we Israelis will rejoice – loudly, proudly, and justly.

It will be a national milestone, a turning point. It will be a cause for celebration on a par with Israel’s Declaration of Independence in 1948 and its victory over three enemy armies, and the expeditionary forces assisting them, in the Six-Day War of 1967.

We will be like the dreamers of Psalms, our mouths filled with laughter and our tongues with joy, at this honor for Israel’s ancient, beloved, undivided and eternal capital: Jerusalem, the focus of our thrice-daily prayers for 3,000 years.

Americans should be just as thrilled. I can say this with full confidence because I am not only a native-born Israeli; I am also a naturalized U.S. citizen who cares deeply about American interests.

The embassy opening is a crowning moment for U.S. foreign policy and for our president, Donald Trump. Just over a year into his first term, he has re-enshrined the United States as the standard-bearer of moral clarity and courage in a world that too often feels adrift.

Exactly 70 years ago, as the horrors of World War II were still fresh, another great president, Harry Truman, asserted U.S. leadership by recognizing the fledgling State of Israel. Trump is the Truman of our time. He knew that Americans, first and foremost, would benefit from his recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, as would peace-loving people everywhere.

And he took action on Jerusalem, just as he did in nobly quitting the vile Iranian nuclear deal last week, and just as he is doing right now, with tough diplomacy on North Korea.
America should definitely be thrilled, and you can be sure plenty are...but there's still Democrats who not only aren't, their representatives didn't even show up:
Four U.S. Senators addressed members of the press at the King David Hotel in Jerusalem on Monday morning, hours before the official relocation of the U.S. embassy — and all four were Republicans.

Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX), Dean Heller (R-NV), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Mike Lee (R-UT) made the trip, along with ten Republican U.S. Representatives — but not one Democrat joined the U.S. delegation for the embassy event.

Only former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) — who was the Democratic nominee for vice president in 2000 before being rejected by his party in 2006 for his support of the Iraq War — came to Jerusalem to join in the festivities.

Two journalists asked the Republican Senators why no Democrats had come.

Sen. Cruz said: “That is a sad, sad manifestation — I wish we had every member of Congress here … every member of Congress had the option before them to come.”

Sen. Graham said that no one, Republican or Democrat, had been specifically invited to the ceremony — they simply chose to come or they did not. And he noted that only Republicans had come of their own volition.

“It’s not for me to tell you what that says,” Graham said. “It hurts me.”

He noted that the absence of Democrats sent a dangerous message that Americans were not united in their support for Israel.

“There’s too much going on in this region to send mixed signals,” he said.
Indeed, as the great occasion was taking place, the Hamas incited a mob at the Gaza crossing to riot, and there were even anti-Israeli demonstrators cavorting around outside the complex of the embassy. Such refusal to put politics aside is not helpful.

A GOP representative predicts that countries outside western Europe will move their own embassies to Jerusalem as well:
“Guatemala is going to open up an embassy in Jerusalem in two days,” he said. “Paraguay is on the way. I think you’re going to see a lot of countries out of Western Europe start to follow the United States’ lead. I bet you some of those countries who are our traditional allies will probably be the laggards in this. But hey Brian, that’s fine. I mean, do the right thing and some of these smaller countries who have done that — I think they’ve shown a lot of courage in doing so.”
Eventually, I think even the western European countries will show the guts to make the move too. For now, it's great that the USA sent an important message and moved the embassy to Jerusalem, putting an end to what should be a non-issue and recognizing the vitality of history. That's something to celebrate.

French government wants to make it a crime for citizens' group to defend country against invaders

The French government is not giving a good image of itself if they intend to allow legal persecution of heroic citizens defending their borders:
A newly revealed memo from the French Justice Ministry has revealed Emmanuel Macron’s government has found there is a possibility to prosecute members of the identitarian Defend Europe mission for patrolling the Alpine border for illegal migrant crossings.

The memo, authored by the director of criminal cases and pardons at the Department of Justice, Rémy Heitz, was sent to various magistrates to remind them of offences, “aimed at behaviour hostile to the movement of migrants,” La Dauphine reports.

“The control of the respect of the borders, by the visual surveillance or the construction of obstacles, by people hostile to the movement of the migrants is likely to constitute an intentional interference in the functions police forces,” the memo states.

“The deportation of migrants by these same people, including without violence, is also likely to characterize an offence provided by Article 433-12 of the Penal Code,” the memo adds.

The memo also states that while the Defend Europe activists could be arrested for forcibly deporting illegals there is no provision to arrest them for alerting police to illegal crossings while out watching the border.
And they're trying to make that a crime too? This is sick, even worse than how the Bush administration regarded the Minutemen group. They must be called upon to stop what they're doing immediately, and do their job at protecting the borders so the Defend Europe group won't have to. And stop being apologists for Islam.

Shmuley Boteach spoke with Polish premier about their problematic Holocaust law

As 2018's Holocaust Memorial Day takes place, Rabbi Shmuley Boteach went to Poland and spoke with the Polish prime minister in regards to the needless law they conceived that punishes people for blaming Poland for the tragedy of WW2, which is divisive and only makes the situation worse. We have to hope his conversation will have some effect in getting Poland to cut out this idiocy they've committed.

Justice League #42 is making me lose respect for Christopher Priest

I thought he was blowing it when he shoehorned Geoff Johns' SJW creation, the Islamic Green Lantern Simon Baz, into the pages of this latest volume that's soon to be cancelled. Now, with issue 42, he's making things worse with the following moral equivalence on Israel and "Palestine", seen in this panel:
This is disgusting. This is precisely one of the problems any realist could have with Islam - that it teaches to live a lie (or, as per the Arabic word for deception, taqqiya), that there was supposedly an Arabic/Islamic country called "Palestine" built on land that's part of Israel. Even Golda Meir made clear there's no such thing. The name was originally conceived by the Roman empire following the defeat of the Bar Kochva revolt in 132 CE, 2nd century. Needless to say, Priest's starting to really lose me with this propaganda stunt, and here when he'd made a valid argument 2 months ago about why writers of black/Asian/Latino descent shouldn't be given ghettoized roles in scriptwriting. This is very sad, and it doesn't stop there. There's also the following conversation between Baz and Jessica Cruz to consider:
In the second panel, he's making light of murder-suicide, which is offensive to victims of suicide bombings. That's no way to make a character likable, no matter what his religion, and Priest's failure to consider that is stunning. Making Baz tantamount to an anti-Israelist is also very bad. The review of this issue on Geekdad doesn't help, as the reviewers are clueless:
Justice League #42, the penultimate issue of Priest’s run before Snyder, Tynion, and Williamson come in to blow everything up, has a lot to do, and unlike most issues of his run, I’m not sure everything landed. It’s still easily the most ambitious Justice League run I can remember, with an overtly political bent and major developments for multiple characters, but it almost feels overwhelming at times this issue. The opening page of the issue has Jessica and Simon discussing the weird kiss with Batman, which I still don’t quite get. It didn’t seem to go anywhere, and the fact that Jess knew he was engaged (as confirmed this issue) makes the whole plot rather icky. The issue then picks up in the aftermath of Wonder Woman’s shooting, which is revealed to be a near-fatal neck shot. Priest’s take on her powers is that she’s not really invulnerable at all without the protection of her bracelets, which doesn’t quite match up with what we’ve seen – I assumed she had at least some level of innate invulnerability.
So what was that Priest once said about being able to write anything, and doing research? It all depends how well he understands all these world affairs and history, and if he actually was willing to do it. Evidently, he didn't, and that seriously detracts from his credibility.

The review from Inside Pulse also notes:
Speaking of medical help, the Red Lion easily dispatched Cyborg last issue and dumped him in Deathstroke’s room. Slade Wilson explains who the Red Lion is, but also introduces himself to Cyborg so…. that calls into the question the history of the first Teen Titans team of the Rebirth era. [...]
So this story sticks with the New 52 reboot, does it? Yet that's probably nothing compared to the mistreatment of Wonder Woman in this tale, featuring a bloody cauterization when she's injured, and certainly nothing compared to the minimization of the serious issues involving Islam.

It was bad enough when Geoff Johns had to inject this terrible propaganda into the DCU 6 years ago, topping it off with the cliche of a white supremacist being the real villain in the Baz debut stories. Priest is making things worse by applying ever more revolting personality traits to Baz, and worse, insulting decent segments of society in the process. He must've done this because the volume's being cancelled, and thought it a perfect opportunity to exploit the last issues for such a nasty moment. But all he's doing is suggesting he doesn't have what it takes anymore to do a story right, and if he wouldn't do the research he argued is necessary to turn out a good story, or realize why trivializing serious matters is reprehensible, then he's worn out his welcome and is no longer a good choice for a scriptwriter today. The capitulation to PC propaganda by modern writers is just what's destroying the medium.

Terrorist attack in two close French locations

A hostage situation with 2 people murdered took place in Trebes, France, committed by an Islamic State supporter:
At least two people were killed after a gunman claiming allegiance to the Islamic State group opened fire and took hostages at a supermarket in southwest France on Friday, security sources told AFP.

Police were negotiating with the unnamed hostage-taker who remained holed up in the Super U store in the town of Trebes after storming in at around 11.15 am (1015 GMT).

French investigators suspect the gunman is a Moroccan man who had been flagged as a potential extremist, a security source said.

A witness reported that the assailant was armed with knives, a gun and grenades and shouted “Allahu Akbar” (God is greatest) before going into the supermarket.

A source close to the probe said a Moroccan man had been identified as the hostage-taking suspect.

“Most of the Super U staff and customers managed to get away,” said a security source, who asked not to be named because he was not authorised to speak publicly.

“An officer is currently in contact with the hostage-taker.”

The source said two people had been killed according to a provisional toll, while regional police chief Jean-Valery Lettermann told AFP: “We are unfortunately expecting to discover there are more victims.”

Fifteen minutes before the supermarket incident in Trebes, a policeman was shot in the nearby town of Carcassonne while out jogging with several colleagues.

He was in a stable condition, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said.
There was a report on TV stating that a third victim sadly succumbed to death. The area of Trebes was struck by terrorism before, and if the authorities/government are smart, they'll start doing sweep inspections to locate the hideouts and black markets these jihadists are getting their sanctuary and weapons from.
