SAN BERNARDINO JIHADIST'S FAMILY INVOLVED IN IMMIGRATION FRAUD

Michael Cutler wrote about how immigration visa fraud and other such felonies have enabled terrorists to enter the USA. This includes some of the family of the jihadist in San Bernardino:

Three people with close family ties to the couple responsible for the San Bernardino terror attack were arrested Thursday in an alleged marriage-fraud scheme involving a pair of Russian sisters.

The accused include Syed Raheel Farook. His brother and sister-in-law, Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, died in a shootout with police after killing 14 people and wounding 22 others on Dec. 2.

Also arrested in the marriage-fraud case were Syed Raheel Farook’s wife, Tatiana, and her sister, Mariya Chernykh. Prosecutors say Mariya’s marriage to Enrique Marquez Jr., the only person charged in the shootings, was a sham designed to enable her to obtain legal status in the U.S. after overstaying a visitor visa in 2009.

Marquez confessed to the scheme when authorities questioned him about the shootings, and he acknowledged getting $200 a month to marry Chernykh, according to his criminal complaint.

How is the USA supposed to defend itself against infiltrators if this keeps going?

MODERN ANTI-SEMITISM IN THE MUSLIM WORLD CARRIES ON WHAT THE NAZIS DID DURING WW2

During this year's Holocaust Memorial gathering at Yad Vashem, the prime minister made a point about how Muslim anti-semitism today is basically a continuation of what Nazism was doing decades before (and long preceded it too):

“Slander comes before destruction. Today millions in the Muslim world read and hear threatening lies about the Jewish people. They say Jews are the descendants of monkeys and pigs, they say Jews drink the blood of their enemies,” Netanyahu said during the ceremony. Hitler and his propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels, he said, would not have been surprised by anti-Jewish comments on social media.

“This incitement comes from Islamic extremism and the Arab world. But in the last years it has been joined by incitement no less destructive from the Western world. British parliamentarians, Swedish officials and French thought leaders,” he said.

“If over the years, anti-Semites portrayed Jews as enemies of humanity, today they portray the Jewish state as the enemy of humanity. There is no end to these lies,” he added.

Now that's very spot on. And lest we forget, some of the aforementioned are also advocates of turning Europe into a modern caliphate. They cannot be overlooked, as their own ignorance led to much of the jihadism poisoning the continent today. They must all be called out.

COLOGNE'S ARCHBISHOP IS CLEARLY BAD FOR WOMEN

The archbishop of Cologne in Germany has basically ignored the mass rapes that took place at their train station with his defense of Islam (Hat tip: Pamela Geller):

The Cardinal Archbishop of Cologne, Rainer Maria Woelki (pictured), has publicly criticized leaders of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party for their statements against Islam, insisting that “whoever says ‘yes’ to church towers must also say ‘yes’ to minarets.”

The Cardinal was reacting in particular to recent statements by AfD deputy leader Beatrix von Storch, who told the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper: “Islam is in itself a political ideology that is not compatible with the constitution.”

“We are in favor of a ban on minarets, on muezzins and a ban on full veils,” said von Storch, who is also a member of the European Parliament.

In his videotaped response, Cardinal Woelki suggested that all religions are equally well suited to German culture and law. “The religion of Islam is compatible with the German constitution just as Judaism or Christianity are,” he said.

“Anyone who denigrates Muslims as the AfD leadership does should realize that prayer rooms and mosques are equally protected by our constitution as our churches and chapels,” he said.

And any would-be Christian who belittles serious issues should not be surprised if it has the effect of turning people off from Christianity. The man has joined Angela Merkel in mishandling everything.

DISTRUST OF ISLAM IN FRANCE AND GERMANY

Public opinion is clear once again:

A new poll published on Friday shows that a growing number of people in France and Germany are uncomfortable with Islam and its visibility in their respective countries.

The study, which was conducted by the polling centre Ifop for French daily Le Figaro, found that 47 percent of French people and 43 percent of Germans felt that the Muslim community poses a “threat” to national identity.

Almost two-thirds of the poll’s respondents in France also said that Islam had become too “influential and visible”, whereas just under half of participants said the same in Germany.

Islam 'too visible'

The same study in 2010 found that 43 percent of French people viewed Islam as a threat, while 55 percent said that it was too visible.

It's worse than simply being visible. It's that it poses a violent threat. But surely more problematic is when the local governments vehemently refuse to exile all the dangerous vermin and enable it to spread around.

OWNER OF MARSEILLE SYNAGOGUE SELLS TO MOSQUE

The info provided here gives a good idea why the cowardice:

The Or Thora synagogue on Rue Saint-Dominique in Marseille, established in 1962, has been purchased by the Al Badr organization, which runs a small mosque on the same street, The Local reported. The sale is under review by the city council and it is expected that the new mosque will open for business in a few months.

Zvi Ammar, President of the Marseille Israelite Consistory, said the move was positive. "For the past 20 years or so we have seen the shift of the Jewish community to other neighborhoods," he said, adding, "We all have the same God, the main thing is for this to proceed in harmony."

In January, Ammar said that the Jews of Marseille should avoid wearing their yarmulkes on the street. So much for harmony.

Why did he have to sell to a mosque, but not to say, a business management or a warehouse ownership? That man is clearly a coward with no spine. And do Judaists and Muslims really have the same God? The conduct of the latter suggests otherwise. Ammar's sellout is a disgrace and should be looked upon the same way by the people who shouldn't be associating themselves with him.

FRENCH GOVERNMENT REJECTED ISRAELI TECHNOLOGY THAT COULD'VE PREVENTED TERRORIST ATTACKS

It's been discovered that France's government, out of potential anti-Israel bias, refused to buy Israeli technology for terrorist tracking:

A security expert believes that many lives could have been saved if not for anti-Israel bias that prevented France from using Israeli terror-tracking technology.

Not long after the deadly Islamic terror attack on the Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly in Paris in January 2015 and nearly a year before the simultaneous Islamic terror attacks in the city last November that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more, French security officials rejected an Israeli company’s offer of terrorist-tracking, according to a FoxNews.com report, citing a security expert.

“The offer of data-mining technology that would allow French authorities to ‘connect all the dots’ in the Islamist extremist community was made to the Directorate-General for Internal Security (DGSI), France’s main intelligence agency. It is used to analyze and match up fragmented intelligence reports from several national and international databases, giving counter-terrorism agents the most up-to-date information on potential terrorists available,” the news site reported.

The offer was rejected. “French authorities liked it, but the official came back and said there was a higher-level instruction not to buy Israeli technology,” a well-placed Israeli counter-terror specialist familiar with the technology and the company behind it told FoxNews.com. “The discussion just stopped.”

It's said that civilizations die from suicide rather than murder. Although in this case, it's because Hollande's government threw the citizenry under the bus.

The articles also cite a phony scapegoating Israel:

Kamal Nawash, an American attorney and president of the Free Muslims Coalition, noted that Europe’s tough stance against Israel and hesitation in making technology purchases is an “example of the global community sending a message to Israel that its treatment of the Palestinians is unacceptable.”

“Israel would be wise to change its treatment of Palestinians by providing them with civil and human rights and pursuing a desegregation policy in general,” Nawash said. “Otherwise, Israel may experience the same fate as South Africa during the apartheid era with all the countries of the world boycotting Israel.”

Oh, some "free" coalition they have there. If they perpetuate the notion that Israel is solely an aggressor, and turn their backs on the Islamist mentality driving the so-called "palestinians" then they're not favoring freedom at all.

MICHAEL CHABON'S AN ENEMY OF ISRAEL

The author took a tour of Hebron with the wrong crowd:

Chabon’s tour to the West Bank was led by Breaking the Silence, the controversial Israeli group that collects and distributes Israeli soldiers’ testimony about their service in the occupied territory. Chabon, along with his wife Ayelet Waldman, are two of the 24 leading novelists who will visit East Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza over the next few months to research a book of essays marking 50 years of Israeli occupation. The couple will edit the book, which aims to illuminate what it’s like to live under Israeli military rule. Chabon’s essay will focus on Sam Bahour, a Palestinian-American businessman who moved to Ramallah to build the Palestinian economy in the wake of the Oslo peace accords, only to watch the Israeli occupation deepen around him.

[...] Now, Chabon will address Israel’s darkest issues head on. His attention to the occupation, sparked by Waldman’s 2014 trip to Hebron, comes out of a place of deep concern for Israel. “I do love Israel. I do care about Israel,” he said. “To dehumanize others dehumanizes you. It is bad for Israel and if it ended it would be good for Israel.”

[...] The Forward, which accompanied the authors’ Breaking the Silence tour for two days, sat down for an interview with Chabon at the group’s hotel in the stately Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem. Chabon was visibly jarred by what he had seen the day before in Hebron, calling the occupation “the most grievous injustice I have ever seen in my life.” He talked about the role of authors in addressing human rights issues, his childhood relationship to Israel and whether he is worried about alienating Jewish readers with his anti-occupation stance. But he is. Well, certainly if they read his books, but I wouldn't be surprised if not many actually do. Who really needs this creepy novelist anyway? A man who's clearly unconcerned about Muslim honor killings, for example, proving he's not worried about dehumanization. And while he may not be associating with Taayush, I guess he's not concerned about Ezra Nawi's assistance to the PLO either. No sane person should put money into Chabon's pockets. He is one truly awful writer indeed.

WILL OBAMA ADMINISTRATION RELEASE EVIDENCE OF SAUDI CONNECTION TO 9-11?

United With Israel says they will soon, but we have to hope it'll actually happen:

The Obama administration will likely soon release at least part of a 28-page secret chapter from a congressional inquiry into 9/11 that may shed light on possible Saudi connections to the attackers.

The documents, kept in a secure room in the basement of the Capitol, contain information from the joint congressional inquiry into “specific sources of foreign support for some of the Sept. 11 hijackers while they were in the United States.”

Bob Graham, who was co-chairman of that bipartisan panel, and others say the documents point suspicion at the Saudis. The former Democratic senator from Florida says an administration official told him that intelligence officials will decide in the next several weeks whether to release at least parts of the documents. The disclosure would come at a time of strained U.S. relations with Saudi Arabia, a long-time American ally.

“I hope that decision is to honor the American people and make it available,” Graham told NBCs’ “Meet the Press” on Sunday. “The most important unanswered question of 9/11 is, did these 19 people conduct this very sophisticated plot alone, or were they supported?”

[...] The pages were withheld from the 838-page report on the orders of President George W. Bush, who said the release could divulge intelligence sources and methods. Still, protecting U.S.-Saudi diplomatic relations also was believed to have been a factor.

Is that so? If you needed a valid reason to look upon Bush in disgrace, this would have to be it, and I wouldn't be surprised if the latter possibility turned out to be the real reason why this report was withheld until now.

And Saudi Arabia an "ally"? Hardly. It's terrible how many political bodies in the west have long granted legitimacy to a country that enslaves women and forbids criticism of Islam under threat of torture and death, and otherwise teaches hate towards Israel. If it matters, it's also despicable how Cuba was allowed to run a communist reign for so long, damaging the lives of many people on the island. Western democracies hurt themselves by not helping the less fortunate to free their areas from the grip of tyranny.

And of course, they aren't helping to prevent evil from the Saudis if they ignore and cover for them, all because they're supposedly "allies".

GEORGE CLOONEY PAYS RESPECTS TO ARMENIA

If there's anything positive an actor like Clooney's been doing, it's to recognize the Armenian Holocaust at an official commemoration:

Hollywood star and rights advocate George Clooney on Sunday led thousands of Armenians on a march to a hilltop memorial in Yerevan to commemorate the 101st anniversary of the World War I-era Armenian genocide.

A staunch advocate of the massacre's recognition as genocide, Clooney arrived in the ex-Soviet nation on Saturday to take part in the hugely symbolic ceremonies.

Clooney and the French singer of Armenian origin Charles Aznavour joined President Serzh Sarkisian and thousands of Armenians to lay flowers at the eternal flame at the imposing Tsitsernakaberd memorial as requiem services for the victims were held in churches across the country.

Armenians say up to 1.5 million people were killed during World War I as the Ottoman Empire was falling apart, a claim supported by many other countries.

Turkey fiercely rejects the genocide label, arguing that 300,000 to 500,000 Armenians and at least as many Turks died in civil strife when Armenians rose up against their Ottoman rulers and sided with invading Russian troops.

Clooney co-chairs the selection committee of the Aurora Prize for Awakening Humanity which was established on behalf of the survivors.

The genocide "is a part of Armenia's history, it's also a part of the world's history, it's not the pain of one nation only," the US actor and director said upon his arrival in Yerevan.

The Hollywood heavyweight will name an inaugural recipient of the Aurora Prize during an award ceremony in the city later Sunday.

The laureate will be given a $100,000 grant and will nominate organisations to receive a $1 million award.

"Today, we commemorate the sacred memory of the victims of the Armenian genocide," Sarkisian said in a statement.

Turkey's "policy of denial... has not changed, as has not changed its hostile stance toward everything that is Armenian," he added.

Quite right. That's why I hope he's disappointed with Obama for failing throughout his entire tenure to acknowledge the Armenian genocide for what it was.

NEW ZEALAND'S EXPERIENCES WITH ARMENIA'S HOLOCAUST

ONCE AGAIN, DURING OBSERVANCE OF THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, OBAMA WON'T MENTION THE WORD ITSELF

It looks like Obama has once again failed to call the Armenian tragedy of WW1 what it is:

For the eighth and final time, President Obama this year will break his unambiguous 2008 campaign promise to declare that the mass killings of Armenians at the hands of Ottoman Turks in 1915 and 1916 amounted to “genocide,” a leading Armenian-American activist told Yahoo News on Thursday.

According to the U.S. Holocaust Museum, at least 664,000 and perhaps as many as 1.2 million Armenians “died in massacres, in individual killings, or as a consequence of systematic ill-treatment, exposure, starvation and disease.”

But officially designating the Ottoman Turks’ actions as “genocide” would have deeply angered Turkey, a NATO ally and a pivotal player in the coalition Obama has assembled to wage war on the Islamic State in neighboring Syria. Turkish governments have sharply disputed the figures of Armenian dead and categorically rejected the “genocide” label.

Aram Hamparian, executive director of the Armenian National Committee of America, told Yahoo News shortly after a briefing from Obama aides at the White House that the president would once again stop short of using the term “genocide” in his annual statement about the tragedy.

This seems to be part of a pattern of late. Earlier this week I looked at the decisions being made in the White House over Saudi Arabia and their potential ties to terrorism. The President has found strange bedfellows when it comes to Saudi Arabia and they are clearly walking on eggshells in the interest of going along to get along. It seems awfully convenient to whitewash some of the sins of the Saudi royal family in the interest of maintaining a good working relationship with an ally in the war on terror. (Not to mention one which sits on an ocean of oil.)

So Obama's kowtowing looks like it's going to remain till the bitter end of his tenure. Just another example of how he's basically failed in many ways.

TZIPI LIVNI INSULTED BY BADLY EDUCATED HARVARD STUDENT DESPITE HER LEFTISM

Livni's just learned that, no matter how negative her stand on Israel happens to be, it won't perturb any anti-semites from acting disgustingly:

A student at Harvard Law School provoked outrage after asking a visiting Jewish Israeli politician why she was “so smelly.” The student’s identity remains unknown despite using the slur in a public forum.

Tzipi Livni is a former Israeli foreign minister and is currently a part of the center-left Zionist Union in the Israeli Knesset. She is generally regarded as the most powerful woman in Israel, and is one of the most important figures in the push for a two-state solution in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Livni appeared at Harvard Law last Thursday for a panel discussion about the Palestinian peace process, but when the time came for questions from the audience, things went in a stinky direction.

A student in the back piped up to ask Livni an important question: Why exactly did she smell so bad?

“OK, my question is for Tzipi Livni, um, how is it that you are so smelly?” the student asked, according to a transcript of the event released Wednesday. When the panel replied with confused looks, the student clarified exactly what he meant: “Oh, it’s regarding your odor.”

“I’m not sure I understand the question,” the event moderator replied.

“I’m question (sic) about the odor of Tzipi Livni, very smelly, and I was just wondering,” the student said.

Insults deriding Jewish people as smelly or otherwise possessing a unique odor are quite old, and the notion was included in anti-Semitic propaganda used by the Nazis.

The student supposedly apologized, but said his intention was to insult Livni personally. And:

Despite apologizing for invoking the stereotype, at no point does the student ever apologize for asking a pointless, rude question of Livni during the question and answer portion of the event.

In the end, this only demonstrates how Israeli leftists are no more immune to nasty slurs than rightists are. It also shows how badly educated a certain segment of society is, and lacks manners, courtesy and understanding why profanity is also a reprehensible form of behavior.

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION PAYING JIZYA TO IRAN

They're going to spend several million dollars on nuclear material, which only gives Iran more spending money for jihad distribution:

The Obama administration will purchase 32 tons of nuclear material from Iran, the State Department confirmed to Fox News Friday, in a move likely to anger critics still reeling after Iran received billions in sanctions relief following the implementation of the nuclear deal in January.

The value of the deal: $8.6 million, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Secretary of State John Kerry will meet with his Iranian counterpart Javad Zarif in New York City this afternoon. A State Dept. delegation is also meeting in Vienna today with Iran and six world powers to discuss the nuclear deal and sign the contract moving the purchase forward.

"This heavy water will fulfill a substantial portion of U.S. domestic demand this year for industry and domestic research applications. This material is not radioactive and does not present safety concerns," State Dept. spokesman John Kirby said.

But that confirms Iran's keeping what is radioactive for their own warmongering plans. In any case, this is another colossal waste of taxpayer money, and only provides Iran with more to use for their nuclear development. Another show of defeatism from Obama's dreadful administration.

BUS BOMBING IN TALPIOT

For the first time in a while, there's been another bus bombing that's injured at least 20 people:

A bomb exploded on a bus in Jerusalem Monday afternoon, injuring over 20 people as it and other vehicles were engulfed in flames, and ratcheting up tensions in a city just recovering from a months-long wave of violence.

Police and rescue officials confirmed 21 people were injured, two of them seriously, when the number 12 city bus exploded on Moshe Baram Street in the Talpiot neighborhood of the capital at about 5:45 p.m., setting the bus on fire.

A second intercity bus nearby and a car were also burned in the blast.

Jerusalem police chief Yoram Halevy said Monday evening the blast was caused by an explosive device placed on the bus, putting an end to two hours of speculation over whether the blast was terror related or a technical malfunction.

“When a bomb explodes on a bus, it is a terror attack,” Halevy said, adding it was unclear if the bomber had been on the bus at the time of the blast.

[...] The terror attack broke weeks of relative calm in the city after a six-month wave of Palestinian stabbings, shootings and vehicular attacks seemed to be subsiding, and raised fears of a return to a type of violence not seen in Jerusalem for years. The second intifada terror wave between 2000 and 2005 saw Jerusalem frequently targeted by suicide bombers on buses and in restaurants.

And this is all because of how they cannot admit clearly that Islam is the problem. The violence is unlikely to wear off at ease, and is more likely to continue.

BERNIE SANDERS IS BUSY TRYING TO OUTDO HILARY CLINTON IN DHIMMITUDE

Daniel Greenfield's written about how Sanders is basically running a pro-Hamas campaign for presidency:

Why won’t Bernie Sanders stop attacking Israel? That’s the question some Jewish supporters are asking as the troubled campaign continues alienating Jews while pandering to haters of the Jewish State.

For the longest time it was all but impossible to get Bernie to even admit he was Jewish. His campaign conducted no outreach to Jewish groups while aggressively pursuing outreach to Muslim groups such as CAIR. CAIR is an anti-Semitic Islamist group with known ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood.

In New York, the Sanders campaign seemingly had to bow to reality and actually reach out to Jews.

But instead the Sanders campaign set out to offend and alienate Jews in New York, as it had done to Jews all over the country, by selecting an anti-Israel activist who had defended Muslim anti-Semitism.

Simone Zimmerman, formerly of J Street, had made a name for herself by harassing Jewish charities that help people in Israel. Zimmerman had defended BDS and opposed Israel’s campaign against Hamas, saying, “We think it’s important to understand the context of occupation".

She had allied with JVP, a hate group, to oppose fighting anti-Semitism on campus. JVP has described the murder of Jews as “resistance” and the Jewish community as the “enemy”.

Zimmerman’s first attempt at outreach to Jewish supporters ended in disaster with a shouting match at a Jews for Bernie event. But Jews for Bernie is run by Daniel Sieradski, another opponent of Israel, who distributed a meme during the last war with Hamas which asserted that "That's why Palestinians are fighting back." Sieradski had claimed in the past that the real threat wasn’t Hamas whose leaders “just want to make life better for their people”, but Jewish “ethnic exclusivity”.

Why would any serious presidential campaign think that putting anti-Israel activists like Simone Zimmerman and Daniel Sieradski out front is a good idea? Coming on the heels of Bernie Sanders’ lie that Israel had killed “10,000 innocent people” in Gaza while fighting Hamas, this looks like a deliberate plan to alienate Jews.

And it just might be.

Already, Sanders is clearly trying to encourage some people to hope that Clinton wins the primary more than he will, though for now, it looks like he could end up taking the nomination, and either way, that's bad. The man is truly awful.

GERMANY CENSORS ADS WITH SEXY WOMEN AFTER MASS RAPES IN COLOGNE

The dhimmitude continues apace in Germany as their lawmakers keep up the capitulations to the invaders (Hat tip: Jihad Watch):

GERMANY has announced plans to ban images of scantily-clad women in adverts in response to the sexual assaults in Cologne on New Year’s Eve.

German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said the move to ban ads which “reduce women or men to sexual objects” is an attempt to create a “modern gender image”.

The proposal, if introduced later this year, would see courts decide on what qualifies as sexist.

The plan has been called political correctness gone mad by its critics, who said it was the first step towards a “nanny state”.

It comes following a controversy over claims made by a senior politician that some schools and canteens in Germany are ‘banning’ the serving of pork to avoid offending Muslim migrants.

Free Democratic Party (FPD) leader Christian Lindner said: “His plans to ban nudity and sexual advertising are completely narrow-minded.

“To demand the veiling of women or taming of men, is something known among radical Islamic religious leaders, but not from the German minister of justice.”

The move comes a day after the first case related to a string of sexual assaults and muggings against women across on New Year’s Eve went to trial [...]

I wouldn't be shocked if the Nazis ever practiced anything similar; let's recall their own collaborations with Islamists, of course. "Modern gender image" is just more offensively censorious mentality that does nothing to solve the real issues. It's just a move back to socialism, which they sadly never abandoned.

ANTI-ISRAEL INDOCTRINATION AT USA HIGH SCHOOLS

Truth Revolt recently pointed to a video exposing anti-Israeli brainwashing in American high schools, with materials that were funded by Islamic regimes. According to Charles Jacobs:

The video also shows that Saudi, Palestinian, and other Arab-funded teaching materials have been inserted into the curriculum, much of it containing anti-Israel bias.

Anybody who thinks Saudi Arabia couldn't possibly still be a danger would be proven wrong by the findings here, which have sadly had their negative effect on students. It'll take ages to repair the brain damage the teachers at these schools are mainly responsible for, as they accepted the propaganda without question.

ELDERLY CHRISTIAN BEATEN IN INDONESIA FOR SELLING ALCOHOL

Here's an example of vicious "laws" being meted out against non-Muslims in one of the sickest Islamic regimes:

An elderly Christian woman has been caned in Indonesia, the first time a Sharia law punishment has been meted out to a non-Muslim.

The 60-year-old, who was convicted of selling alcohol, was whipped nearly 30 times with a rattan cane, before a crowd of hundreds, in Aceh province on Tuesday, according to reports.

A couple who had been found guilty of adultery received 100 lashes at the same time.

Aceh is the only province in Indonesia that applies Sharia law, with public canings, often in front of huge crowds, commonplace.

I wouldn't be too sure Aceh's the only place in that horrible island country doing that. They're probably applying it to many other areas even as we speak. There's no need to be friends with such an awful place, so long as they stick with that mentality.

BELGIAN TERROR CELL INITIALLY PLANNED ANOTHER ATTACK IN FRANCE

The terrorists who attacked in Belgium had first thought of committing another murderous attack in France, but changed plans as the hunt got nearer:

The March 22 Brussels terror attacks, which killed 32 people, followed a last-minute scramble by terrorists after the arrest of Salah Abdeslam four days earlier persuaded them to ditch plans for a fresh strike in France, Belgian authorities said Sunday.

Officials painted a picture of some chaotic preparations for the attack, as authorities closed in on some of the suspects, which included some rudimentary missteps by the terrorists.

In one case, said two officials with knowledge of the investigations, Khalid el-Bakraoui, the suicide bomber who killed 16 people at Maelbeek metro station, took the metro several stops in the wrong direction, had to switch platforms and then headed back to Maelbeek where he detonated his device.

That mistake cost the terrorists dearly, one of the officials said. Mr. Bakraoui was caught on camera at the Pétillon metro station, where he crossed platforms, briefly talking to a man who police have since been searching for.

On Saturday, federal prosecutors said they had identified that man as Osama K, a Swedish-born suspect who had fought in Syria. They charged the man, who a U.S. official has said is Osama Krayem, with terrorist murders, saying he was the second attacker at the Maelbeek station.

[...] Belgian authorities issued a wanted notice in late November for Mr. Abrini. He was seen in a surveillance video with Paris suspect Mr. Abdeslam at a gas station north of the French capital two days before the attacks there. At the time, Mr. Abrini was driving one of the cars that was used two days later in the attacks.

Mr. Abrini was charged Saturday with being a lead member of a terror group and committing terrorist murders over the Paris attacks. On Sunday morning, authorities said he was now facing similar charges in the Brussels attacks.

The terrorists who were captured should all receive the death sentence. On which note, any European countries that abolished the death penalty should reinstate it.

FORMER PRESIDENT OF INDONESIA WANTS WEST TO PAY JIZYA

Paying money to jihdadists will not change their mentality, but merely perpetuate it. Yet Susilo Yudhoyono thinks jizya solves everything (Hat tip: Jihad Watch):

Australia and Indonesia should work together to combat terrorism by lifting people around the globe out of poverty, a former Indonesian president believes.

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, who is visiting Canberra, also praised Australia’s acceptance of Muslims as an inspiring example to a world troubled by Islamophobia.

He believes there is a direct link between a more prosperous world and a peaceful one, and is urging Australia to promote sustainable development goals.

“Then more poor will graduate to middle class and become the owner of a dignified life,” he told a defence policy conference on Friday.

Hundreds of millions of people were trapped in insecurity, injustice and marginalisation which led to hopelessness, he said.

“In some of these areas, fertile minds can become corrupted.”

By the Koran, not poverty. Besides, where does he think they get the money for buying and building weapons and explosives? Jizya funds that too. The man is a disgrace, and if Australia's government is kowtowing to his beliefs, that too is bad.
