It looks like Lev Tahor is clearing out of Canada, and moving along with a few other cultists to Guatemala, where they may be more welcome. The brother of a woman belonging to the cult traveled there to find her, but so far, he hasn't convinced her to leave:

The children’s uncle recently travelled from Israel to see the family in the village of San Juan de Laguna, a two-hour-trip east of Guatemala City. He said he counted about 30 adults living in a two- or three-room shack.

The man — referred to as K, because a youth court has ordered the identities of the children to be protected — spent a month in Guatemala from March 27 to April 30 tracking down the whereabouts of his sister.

He made several visits to the shack before he was finally permitted to speak with her.

“Armed with a metal bar for protection, I told her that if she did not come out, I would break in. So she finally agreed to come outside and talk with me,” the man said through a Hebrew interpreter Friday.

Speaking from Israel, K said he was distraught by his sister’s psychological state.

“It seemed like she had no emotions,” he said. “I hadn’t seen her in more than three years, but to her the visit seemed normal, like nothing special.”

He said he also saw his nephew who appeared dirty, hungry and covered in bug bites.

Speaking to some members of the local Jewish community in the village, K found out that the children were sleeping on the dirt floor of the shack, and that there is no plumbing; they receive barrels of fresh water once a week.

K said he saw community leaders Yoil Weingarten, Mayer Rosner and Uriel Goldman there, and believes they also now live in the Central American country.

[...] K’s sister had been contacting the family regularly when she was living in Canada, but her cellphone was taken away by the sect’s leadership when she left the country, he said.

She was given a phone about a week ago, and used it to call her parents in Israel to ask for money.

K said he wanted to remove his sister and her children from the sect, but she refused to go with him, saying the situation “wasn’t simple.”

It's terrible this poor woman is so indoctrinated with such Muslim-style mishmash, she refuses her brother's help to go live in better conditions, and forces her own children to live in such misery too. And who knows if the local authorities will avail? For all we know, they'll probably let this futile charade continue, unless more international sources can be convinced to help out.

With the Nigerian Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram kidnapping hundreds of teenage girls to sell into slavery, the Sultan of Brunei establishing the repressive Sharia law in his country and Islam critic Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s honorary degree being rescinded by Brandeis University, Bill Maher pointed his finger at Islam as a major problem in the world today.

“Islam is the problem, correct. All religions are the problem, but especially this one,” the ardent atheist Maher told some of his liberal guests who were offended by his attacks on the faith.

If those guests of his are offended, they can leave the studio, and make sure the door doesn't hit their asses on the way out. Such leftards are not people anybody sane needs to please. Maher's done right to make clear Islam is far more a problem than any other religion in the modern world.

A former top CIA official on Wednesday accused Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.), recently tapped to lead a House select committee on the Benghazi terror attack, of having "a number of his facts wrong" on the case. 

"I was hopeful that the House investigative committee would come to its task with an open mind and with a desire to find the truth, but it appears that at least Mr. Gowdy has already made up his mind on certain points," former acting CIA Deputy Michael Morell told CNN. 

During an interview with the same network earlier Wednesday, Gowdy said he wanted Morrell to explain why he had made certain edits to a set of talking points used by then-U.N. ambassador Susan Rice to explain the 2012 attack, which left four Americans dead. In her interviews, Rice said preliminary intelligence indicated that the violence grew spontaneously from protests over an anti-Islam YouTube video; the administration later acknowledged the attack was preplanned. 

Gowdy said Morell had not explained why he edited those talking points to change the word "terrorist" to "extremist" or the word "attack" to "demonstration." 

"Every single change that Mike Morell made was calculated to cast the administration in a more favorable light," Gowdy said.

In 2010, President Obama signed into law the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act. The bill added $4.5 billion to child-nutrition programs over the next decade, put in place nutrition standards for school lunch programs and vending machines, and implemented training for the cafeteria workers who feed 31 million students a day through the National School Lunch and School Breakfast programs. 

It received bipartisan support, and was hailed as a compassionate victory for America’s poorest children. 

The bill was also, however, a potentially good development for mega bank JP Morgan Chase. Why, you may be wondering, would one of the nation’s biggest banks benefit from a bill meant to feed poor children? A closer look at the legislation reveals the answer. 

The bill mandates that “all state agencies implement Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) systems by October 1, 2020” for those receiving money through the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program. And which company administers nearly half of all states’ EBT programs? You guessed it: JP Morgan Chase. 

We seldom think of poverty programs as profit centers, preferring to discuss them as matters of ideology. Liberals view programs like WIC—which provides food to both pregnant mothers and mothers of young children—as the mark of a compassionate nation. 

Conservatives see them as a gateway to government dependency. 

Arguably, they may fit either of those descriptions. But as with so many other government programs in Washington, both WIC and its close cousin, the federal food stamp program, have morphed into something else: cash cows for powerful corporate interests.

BRUNEI'S SULTAN MIGHT NOT PRACTICE AS HE PREACHES

A former stripper told Intl. Business Times why she believes the sultan of Brunei will spend time with all sorts of personal enjoyments even as he forces the rest of the population to adhere to sharia:

An American Jewish woman has claimed she was hired to be the mistress of Prince Jefri Bolkiah, the playboy brother of the Sultan of Brunei.

Her revelation came just days after Brunei implemented sharia law, which allows residents to be stoned to death for "transgressions" such as homosexuality and adultery.

In her book Some Girls: My Life in a Harem, Jillian Lauren, 36, explained how she was picked to be Jefri's mistress.

Before turning 17, Lauren had dropped out of school to become a stripper. During her career, she was offered $20,000 (£11,785) to perform for a Singaporean businessman.

She soon understood that the man she had to entertain was not a Singaporean, but the Brunei prince.

"[The job] was an invitation to be the personal guest of the notorious playboy prince Jefri Bolkiah, the youngest brother of the Sultan of Brunei," Lauren told the Daily Beast.

"The prince threw lavish parties every night. At these parties there was drinking (which was not legal in public), dancing, some fairly hilarious karaoke, and, most important, women—about 30 or 40 beauties from all over the world, comprising a harem of sorts.

"I spent the next year and some change as his girlfriend." [...]

Lauren, who has returned to her hometown, suggested that the prince and sultan might not be willing to observe the laws they have implemented.

"It is the privilege of the prince and the sultan to misbehave," she said. "As the citizens of Brunei face the erosion of their rights, I imagine the man I once knew, holed up in a posh hotel suite somewhere, maybe with another American teenager in his lap, making laws that legislate morality."

Certainly it's possible. This has got to be commonplace among many overlords, to keep personal pleasure options solely for themselves while their subjects are denied the same.

EUROVISION?

The Eurovision Song Contest is a huge, annual, transnational, media event that was originally created to foster popular European music culture and industry.  In the beginning, competing nations had to sing in their native tongue and entrants often offered music with an indigenous flavour.  As the years have passed, the music has become more homogeneous, and the language of choice, for the singers, and the on-air hosts, has become english. As far as being a bulwark against english language pop culture is concerned Eurovision  is a failure.

What it has become is its own kitsch universe, that exists in a bubble, and is only fully understood by the Captains of Camp - the gay community.  This fact is clearly understood by DR, whose TV Hosts play up to gay sensibilities:

The most interesting aspect of the show is observing the Regional Voting habits of Europe, as citizens who are unable to vote for their own country inevitably reveal cultural alliances in the voting statistics.

And the most important thing we can learn from Eurovision is that government subsidized Culture (in the case of Eurovision, to the tune of $100 million per year) is a complete fiasco.  Very few acts from Eurovision have made any impact on the music scene. If Eurovision was a private enterprise it would have gone bankrupt years ago...

All those twosome managed to do was make it sound like they're against fighting crime and defeating violent criminals, and to lose my respect in the process. I guess if it's wrong for Batman to whack out "insurgents" then it's wrong for him to give the Joker - along with plenty of other violent thugs in Gotham - a smash to the face too, huh?

If they think the story itself isn't well crafted, that's one thing, but to say the idea of battling savages is reprehensible is only to deliver a whole slap in the face to what superhero comics are all about - fighting evil. If they don't like that, then maybe they shouldn't read any more superhero, fantasy or crime comics.

I was already aware some Haredis and certainly Muslims wouldn't respect the custom, but maybe the real eyebrow raiser here is the ultra-leftists in Israel who're following suit. This is definitely disturbing, and needs to be dealt with under an improved education system.

In his letter dated April 22, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's national security adviser, Yossi Cohen, included a policy paper written by chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat in preparation for a Palestinian rejection of American mediation efforts and Israeli overtures. The paper was written in March, nearly a month before Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas made a unilateral move to sign 15 international conventions, ostensibly in response to Israel’s refusal to honor its commitment to release the final round of prisoners.

As Erekat had planned the maneuver weeks before Israel announced its refusal to release the prisoners, Cohen argues, the Palestinian leadership never intended to follow through with peace talks in good faith.

Earl Cox brought up the terrible case of the Presbytarian Church selling out to Islamofascism:

The US government and universities have been infiltrated and influenced by Islamists. Why should we believe mainstream Christian churches in America are exempt? What is surprising is the disturbing depth of deception being proliferated by the Presbyterian Church of the United States of America (PCUSA) via their published study guide “Zionism Unsettled.” Some Jewish groups have called its distorted facts and a historical narrative so extreme that they label it “hate” speech. Think on this: hate speech coming out of a Christian church in America--the Presbyterian Church.

American “Zionism” dates back to 1890 and in general is a national movement for returning Jews to their homeland and a resumption of Jewish sovereignty in the Land of Israel. After the State of Israel was formed in 1948, Zionism grew to include development of the Jewish state and its protection by supporting Israel’s Defense Forces. Instead of standing with the 70% of Americans polling in support of Jews and Israel, Presbyterians are attacking Zionism, which in turn attacks Israel and puts us all at risk at the hands of Islamic extremists.

Palestinian terrorists fired thousands of rockets towards Israeli homes, schools and businesses over the last decade. The Presbyterian study guide blatantly ignores this fact. The PCUSA vilifies Israel and Zionism, calls for the annihilation of the Jewish State and turns a blind eye away from the culpability of Arab leaders’ responsibility for the adverse plight of their own people. The guide calls for a rethinking of the Holocaust with the mindset of including the plight of the Palestinians and the idea that Zionism equals racism. According to the Presbyterians, Zionism is to Palestinians as centuries of Christian anti-Semitism were to the Jews. These ideas place Presbyterians sitting in pews every Sunday in the camp with radical positions on serious issues that could bring about disastrous outcomes.

This is truly awful, and explains perfectly why so many Christians in the Muslim world have been imperiled. When a church movement like the Presbytarians cares more about furthering blood libels and less about the lives of the true victims, that's why Christianity is perishing at the hands of Islam.
