INDONESIAN PROVINCE ENFORCES SHARIA AGAINST NON-MUSLIMS

The government of Indonesia's Aceh province has approved a new law obliging every citizen to follow the sharia Islamic legal code regardless of their religion.Then what's the point? Or the difference? It's all the same thing. And it all adds up to fiasco.
Councillor Abdulah Saleh told the Jakarta Post that the new behaviour law, or qanun jinayat, "does indeed oblige everyone in Aceh to follow sharia without exception."
Saleh said that the qanun stipulated that all those found to have violated sharia would be tried under Islamic law regardless of their religion.
Non-Muslim violators of Indonesia's national ciminal code (KUHP) will be given the option to choose between a sharia court or a regular court - but both courts will adhere to islamic legislation.
MARVEL'S ALLEGEDLY TRYING TO APPEAL MORE TO WOMEN, BUT IT'S DISPUTABLE
The Washington Post wrote about Marvel's allegedly focusing more on women in their output, but if there's one item that sabotages their efforts to be convincing, it's the Muslim Ms. Marvel:

I also don't think they should be making assumptions without market research or giving the press actual sales figures. And if they're going to stuff blatant politicized issues into the products, then it is about publicity and bandwagon jumps. There may be more women getting into reading comics today, but it's not Marvel's output they care about, nor DC's. A lot of the comics drawing women now come more from smaller companies.
It's great if there's more women reading comics, but Marvel's current offerings are something they'd be better off without. As long as the editors continue with the anti-Spider-marriage charade, that's another something telling why women just shouldn't try new Marvel books.

Axel Alonso, Marvel’s editor-in-chief, tells Comic Riffs that the stars of these new books “are not the big-breasted, scantily clad women that perhaps have become the comic-book cliché. They are women with rich interior lives, interesting careers and complicated families who are defined by many things—least of all their looks.”For the millionth time, they tell us this without giving any exact numbers. The sales charts show just 53,201 copies sold in December, and it's because, contrary to what they may boast, they're not doing a very good job writing, as the crossovers prove.
Sounds promising. Is Alonso worried about scaring off the traditional male readership associated with comic books?
“What people want are heroes,” he tells us from Marvel’s New York offices. “They want fascinating stories with compelling characters, regardless of gender.”
Jeanine Schaefer, who edits the new, all-female X-Men, agrees.
“There’s this fear that the men who have traditionally been our fan base will stop reading if we bring in new voices,” Schaefer tells Comic Riffs. “But we’re finding that that’s just not the case.”
The proof is in the numbers, and in the case of the all-female X-Men series, the numbers are solid. The first book was released last May, and became Marvel’s top-selling comic that month.
The comic book world, Alonso asserts, is no longer a boys’ club. “While we don’t have any market research, the eyes don’t lie,” he tells us. “If you go to conventions and comic book stores, more and more female readers are emerging. They are starved for content and looking for content they can relate to.”I'm afraid they are a bunch of guys doing what they think women want. They think women wanted the Spider-marriage broken up, and still do. They think women are fine with Scarlet Witch being turned into a crackpot, and even after she was cleared (something still debatable, to be sure), they wiped her out. And they even turn Jean Grey into a scapegoat again. I don't see how that appeals to women who may be hoping they'd provide the basis for character drama focus instead.
So is this just about the bottom line? Is there a group of dudes sitting around a table at Marvel, trying to come up with books they think female fans will want? After all, according to the Web site Comics Alliance, Marvel only has seven female-led books (DC Comics, for comparison’s sake, has nine female-led books).
“It’s easy for fans to think, ‘They’re just a bunch of guys doing what they think women want,’ ” Schaefer said. But, “It’s not about publicity or trying to jump on the bandwagon.”

The sad reality is that, if the Muslim Ms. Marvel is any indication, some of these efforts are done under a selective bias when the controversy over the belief system they're injecting could've been easily avoided. If they really wanted to please crowds, women included, they wouldn't be going out of their way to shove Islamofascism down everyone's throats.

However, this is untrue. At least five Israelis were murdered by West Bank Palestinians in 2013.
Evyatar Borovsky is one of those victims. He was stabbed to death 10 months ago while hitchhiking in the West Bank. He left behind his wife, Tsofia, and five children.
“It’s a feeling of carelessness and neglecting actual Israeli needs,” Tsofia Borovsky told the Free Beacon on Tuesday when asked about Kerry’s remarks.
Borovsky said that Kerry’s comments reveal an inherent insensitivity and apathy to Israel’s security needs, particularly since the murders of Evyatar and others were so greatly publicized.

In the above photograph taken on McDonald Avenue in the heart of Brooklyn sits the community often referred to as “Little Bangladesh.”Even more chilling is the potential that, with these Muslim immigrants, there could be rapists among them to boot: as this New York Daily News article tells, at least a quarter of men in countries like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka committed a rape at least once in their lives. How many could end up coming to America too, or be born on domestic soil?
What is not in photograph? Women, little girls, nor is there an American in sight, male, female, Black, White, Korean, Chinese, Italian, Polish, Jewish, Catholic, Baptist, Protestant, only Muslims.
A few blocks over is Coney Island Avenue where from Church Avenue down to until the middle of the Coney Island Avenue between Avenue J and K is another Muslim neighborhood or an extension of Little Bangladesh, I suppose. This community although Muslim is a Pakistani and I suspect Afghani community.
In the center of Coney Island Avenue between Avenues H and I is a movie theater. Just a few doors past this theater, a transformation of the neighborhood begins almost as if someone drew an imaginary line Coney Island Avenue transforms from a Muslim community to Jewish.
On the Jewish side of town, in addition to the yeshivas, synagogues, delis, bakeries and other Jewish businesses, one can find every ethnicity traveling, working and socializing in the area. However, as with Little Bangladesh, the “Muslim” side of Coney Island Avenue does not appear to be as neighborly. Just saying.
Last Friday, I went to a market to shop for Super Bowl Sunday. It has been several months since I shopped there. During my visit last summer, the owners were Dominican. The new owners are Muslim. Incredibly enough or not, after all this is a sanctuary city, the old management’s consisted of people from the Caribbean, Central and South America. Today, the Caribbean, Central and South American staff with the exception of three or four no longer work at the market. The Muslim owners replaced the staff with Muslims from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Africa all of whom wear these thick off-white gloves when handling food products at the butcher’s section, deli and cash register.
Surprisingly, today the Muslim owned supermarket sold pork chops, ribs and ham as did the butcher and the deli section of the supermarket. Three months from now, there will not be a strip of pork on the premises.
While in the area, I decided to stop by the deli two blocks from the market to pick up a salad on my way home. Imagine my shock when I realized that the deli is also under new management and its owners are two Muslims whom I noticed sell hookah pipes on the premises.
Not able to take much more, I headed home disappointed but not before I made the error of taking a route home that I rarely travel only to find out that seven blocks from my home, what was formerly a grocery store is now a mosque.
New York City used to be a very likable place. Now it's plummeting into a quagmire of socialism and segregated disasters, with Muslim neighborhoods that could become no-go zones and if Bill deBlasio removes the police's right to keep watch for terrorist threats, it'll become even more dangerous.

On Wednesday, the New York Times editorial boardechoed the White House’s framing of a damning Congressional Budget Office report measuring the economic effects of the Affordable Care Act. The report found that the ACA’s benefits and the taxes associated with it would create disincentives to work so that, by 2024, the equivalent of 2.5 million people will have left the workforce and taken their productivity with them. The Times joined the White House in calling this condition a “good thing.”
“The Congressional Budget Office estimated on Tuesday that the Affordable Care Act will reduce the number of full-time workers by 2.5 million over the next decade,” the Times editorial began. “That is mostly a good thing, a liberating result of the law.”
“Of course, Republicans immediately tried to brand the findings as ‘devastating’ and stark evidence of President Obama’s health care reform as a failure and a job killer. It is no such thing.”

“It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government.”
That wasn’t Newt Gingrich, or Ron Paul, or Ronald Reagan talking.
That was George Meany -- the former president of the A.F.L.-C.I.O -- in 1955. Government unions are unremarkable today, but the labor movement once thought the idea absurd.
Public sector unions insist on laws that serve their interests -- at the expense of the common good.
The founders of the labor movement viewed unions as a vehicle to get workers more of the profits they help create. Government workers, however, don’t generate profits. They merely negotiate for more tax money. When government unions strike, they strike against taxpayers. F.D.R. considered this “unthinkable and intolerable.”
Government collective bargaining means voters do not have the final say on public policy. Instead their elected representatives must negotiate spending and policy decisions with unions. That is not exactly democratic – a fact that unions once recognized.
George Meany was not alone. Up through the 1950s, unions widely agreed that collective bargaining had no place in government. But starting with Wisconsin in 1959, states began to allow collective bargaining in government. The influx of dues and members quickly changed the union movement’s tune, and collective bargaining in government is now widespread. As a result unions can now insist on laws that serve their interests – at the expense of the common good.
Union contracts make it next to impossible to reward excellent teachers or fire failing ones. Union contracts give government employees gold-plated benefits – at the cost of higher taxes and less spending on other priorities. The alternative to Walker's budget was kicking 200,000 children off Medicaid.
Governor Walker’s plan reasserts voter control over government policy. Voters’ elected representatives should decide how the government spends their taxes. More states should heed the A.F.L.-C.I.O. Executive Council’s 1959 advice: “In terms of accepted collective bargaining procedures, government workers have no right beyond the authority to petition Congress — a right available to every citizen.”

New London, Conn.
"See that pole with the transformer hanging from it?” Michael Cristofaro asked me. “That was where my family’s home was.”
I looked up at a line of high telephone poles marching diagonally against a blanched winter sky across a vast, empty field—90 acres—that was entirely uninhabited and looked as though it had always been that way. New London, population 27,000, a rundown onetime whaling port on the Atlantic coast that never recovered after the whaling industry died at the end of the 19th century, is a desolate-looking city. Cristofaro, a 52-year-old New London-born computer network engineer, and I were in its most desolate neighborhood—actually, ex-neighborhood, for there was not a residential property left standing on the entire tract. Just below us lay the mouth of Connecticut’s Thames River (unlike in London, “Thames” rhymes with “James,” and the “th” is pronounced as in “thumb”) where it joins the northerly end of the Long Island Sound. An icy New England January wind—cold enough to freeze the ink in my ballpoint pen into a gray, spidery scrawl as I scribbled notes—ripped across the only signs of life, actually former life, on the deserted incline: waist-high dead weeds, probably the remains of the goldenrod, yarrow, pokeweed, and high grass that grow everywhere during warm months on the North Atlantic coast.
Cristofaro and I were walking through a section of New London called Fort Trumbull, a fist-shaped peninsula jutting out into the Thames. It is the battleground of what must be the most universally loathed Supreme Court ruling of the new millennium, Kelo v. City of New London (2005). The case is named after its lead plaintiff, Susette Kelo, a nurse who had owned a home a few blocks away from the Cristofaro house. The Supreme Court voted 5-4 to uphold a Connecticut Supreme Court ruling that the city of New London and a nonprofit quasi-public entity that the city had set up, then called the New London Development Corporation (NLDC), were entitled to seize, in a process known as eminent domain, the homes and businesses of Kelo, the Cristofaros, and five other nearby property owners in the name of “economic development” that would generate “new jobs and increased revenue,” in the words of since-retired Justice John Paul Stevens, author of the majority opinion.
That is, the city and the NLDC were entitled to condemn and then bulldoze people’s homes solely in order to have something else built on the land that would produce higher property taxes—such as the office buildings, luxury condos, five-star hotel, spacious conference center, a “river walk” to a brand-new marina, and high-end retail stores that were part of an elaborate “economic development” plan for Fort Trumbull that the NLDC had launched in 1997. The Constitution’s Fifth Amendment bars governments from taking private property unless the taking is for a “public use.” Historically “public use,” as courts had interpreted it, meant a road, a bridge, a public school, or some other government structure. But in the Kelo decision, the High Court majority declared that “economic development” that would involve using eminent domain to transfer the property of one private owner to a different but more economically ambitious private owner—such as a hotel—qualified as a public use just as much as, say, a new city library.
