EGYPT APPROVES A NEW CONSTITUTION

One that's hopefully not what the Islamofascists would like. The Financial Times reports:

A constitution backed by the military and the interim government installed after last year’s coup was approved by 98.1 per cent of Egyptian voters, officials announced on Saturday.

In a televised press briefing, election officials confirmed that 38.6 per cent of eligible voters turned out for the polls in the referendum earlier this week, higher than the 32.9 per cent of voters that turned out for the referendum on a constitution backed by the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamists ousted in the popularly-backed July coup. Nabil Salib, chairman of the Egypt’s election commission, praised voters and the tens of thousands of security forces who secured the vote.

“Do not worry about Egypt, it has special standing for God,” he said in a speech broadcast on television. “It is mentioned in the Quran, the Bible, and the Torah. Remember the heroes of your army. They have restored hope in our future and protected Egypt.”

Only about 380,000 of 53.4m registered voted against the constitution, reflecting a strident call by the Brotherhood and its supporters to boycott the process, as well as a campaign of harassment and intimidation by security forces against those calling for a ‘no’ vote.

The constitution, drafted by a 50-member panel largely devoid of Islamists and appointed by the military-installed president, Adly Mansour, remains controversial, granting the armed forces broad autonomy and privileges. But it also bolsters rights of religious minorities, women, children and the disabled when compared to the Brotherhood’s constitution.

Now that's something to brighten a day. But I'm honestly irked by Salib's citing the Koran, because it wouldn't approve of what the army's helped to bring about. Though I am flattered he brought up the Bible and Torah in his speech.

TWO 15-YEAR-OLDS FROM FRANCE JOIN THE SYRIAN JIHAD

Next in line to join the Syrian jihad and throw away their lives are two teenage boys from France:

Two French 15-year-olds have left France to join Islamist militants in the fight against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, one of their fathers and the Toulouse prosecutor said on Friday.

"I've informed the Paris anti-terrorist prosecutor because the two boys made their intention clear that they would travel to Syria via Turkey," prosecutor Michel Valet told Reuters.

French officials say they are increasingly worried about their own nationals travelling abroad to fight in Syria's civil war and one day returning to plot attacks at home.

Well that's why even younger creeps like the twosome in focus here should not be allowed back into Europe, definitely not without being sent to a psychologist. Note that these jihadists are from Toulouse, where the anti-semitic murder took place a few years ago. They're right to be concerned, and they better be.

MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR DEVAL PATRICK'S "CLIMATE CHANGE" POLICIES INADVERTENTLY REVEAL THAT "CLIMATE CHANGE" IS A LEFTIST HOAX

JANUARY 15, 2014 - BOSTON MAGAZINE:

Massachusetts is beefing up protections for residents prone to flooding and extreme weather conditions due to climate change, so they can better prepare and cope with any emergencies that may arise from stormy conditions. 

During a press conference at the New England Aquarium on Tuesday, Governor Deval Patrick announced that officials would inject $52 million into resources to assess and address vulnerabilities in public health, transportation, and energy statewide. 

“Recent storms and related outages serve as a reminder that it is critical we secure our energy grid to endure more extreme weather patterns,” Patrick said. 

The grant money will go toward capital funds for coastline projects, inter-agency assessments of state parks and transportation infrastructures, as well as backing up the grid so people don’t go without power for days on end. 

Citing the unusual weather changes all across the country in the last two years—including tropical storms and out-of-season snowstorms in October in Massachusetts—Patrick said more needs to be done to be on guard. 

He also discussed the progression of wind energy efficiency and solar-powered projects that have advanced since he first took office. “That’s all good, but we must do more,” he said, citing the need to implement further change in dealing with blistering weather conditions. “Billions of dollars [have been spent] on disaster relief. Sea level rises of 1 to 6 feet would put thousands of lives at risk in Boston alone. The question is not whether we need to act, we are passed that. [The] climate is changing, and human activity is contributing to that change. Massachusetts needs to be ready.”

JANUARY 15, 2014 - BOSTON HERALD:

The feds are being urged to “slow down” on rolling out new federal flood-zone maps that critics contend will saddle Bay State residents with enormous insurance bills. 

“FEMA has these new maps which go into effect really soon, and in some cases, are already being used by insurers as a model for their rates. And our appeal to FEMA is, slow down,” Gov. Deval Patrick said yesterday as he discussed details of new state climate-change programs. 

Patrick’s comments put him publicly in league with Attorney General Martha Coakley, House Speaker Robert A. DeLeo and other lawmakers who have spoken out against the changes. Coakley and DeLeo, for example, have filed legislation to limit coastal homeowners’ insurance bills under the new federal guidelines. Others are calling on Congress to delay implementation of the new maps. 

Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs Rick Sullivan said he plans to meet with Massachusetts emergency-management officials on ways to limit new sky-high bills. 

“It has obviously become a priority, and the governor has been very clear and is directing me to look for the relief in terms of implementation of the rates,” Sullivan said.

ABN Amro chairman Gerrit Zalm has tried a novel approach to making corporate speeches more interesting. The former Dutch finance minister dressed up as his fictional sister "Priscilla" and regaled the bank's staff with tales of "her" experience running brothels. 

The innuendo-laden speech, delivered in Dutch, was aimed at explaining the bank's "core values and business principles", a spokesman said. 

Up to 6,000 staff heard the speech. The bank's 23,000 employees might need cheering up, given its ignominious fall from grace several years ago. The once powerful Amsterdam-based bank came a cropper after reckless international expansion made it vulnerable to takeover.

UNESCO CANCELS A PRO-ISRAEL EVENT

This is no surprise, since they did approve of welcoming the PLO to their membership:

Days before it was scheduled to open, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization cancelled an exhibit in Paris entitled, “The People, The Book, the Land: The 3,500-year relationship between the Jewish people and the land of Israel.”

The exhibit, created by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, was co-sponsored by Israel, Canada, and Montenegro. SWC worked closely with UNESCO on the exhibit since 2011, when UNESCO accepted Palestine as a member state, the first UN body to do so.

They made a serious mistake working with the UN.

The Wiesenthal Center is slated to hold a press conference on Monday to discuss the cancellation.

Nimrod Barkan, Israel’s ambassador to UNESCO, said that the excuse to shelve the event was “mean and stupid,” according to Israel Radio.

In an interview with Algemeiner, SWC Dean Marvin Hier called the moved an “absolute outrage.”

“The Arabs don’t want the world to know that the Jews have a 3,500-year relationship to the Land of Israel.”

Failure to open the exhibit as planned, warned the dean of the Wiesenthal Center, Rabbi Marvin Hier, would “confirm to the world that UNESCO is the official address of the Arab narrative in the Middle East.” [...]

“Let’s be clear,” Hier wrote in his letter to Bokova, “the Arab Group’s protest is not over any particular content in the exhibition, but rather the very idea of it – that the Jewish people did not come to the Holy Land only after the Nazi Holocaust, but trace their historical and cultural roots in that land for three-anda- half millennia. If anything will derail hopes for peace and reconciliation among the people of the Middle East, it will be by surrendering to the forces of extremism and torpedoing the opening of this exhibition – jointly vetted and co-organized by UNESCO and the Simon Wiesenthal Center.”

This is just another reason why Israel should not be part of the UN. It may not matter so much, since the SWC should be trying to arrange an exhibition with local political/educational outfits, and not with such a corrupt, repellent world body.

LEV TAHOR IS INFLUENCING THE CHILDREN IN THEIR GRASP TO SOB-STORY TO PRESS

They sent some letters to the Toronto Star which may or may not be written by the children in their sick grasp:

Three of the children at the heart of a case involving the removal of 14 kids from the controversial Lev Tahor sect have spoken out for the first time, in two handwritten letters sent to the Toronto Star.

The letters mark the first time children or parents who are the subject of the action have spoken publicly. A 17-year-old, who has an infant daughter herself, sent scans of letters handwritten by herself and two other children, expressing their fear and confusion about the ongoing litigation surrounding their families.

“When children are removed from their parents, it is because they are in danger. But my daughter and siblings are in no danger at all! How will the damage ever be able to be corrected should this ever happen? My heart’s cry must be heard,” the 17-year-old mother wrote in the five-page note.

I have no doubt their pervert cult leader was behind this. It's terrible that these poor children are being exploited psychologically to bawl to the press about being victims of outside "persecution" rather than the inside persecution. As the Montreal Gazette's noted, the children in the cult are forced to take drugs, and some of those could be used to influence them psychologically. This is abuse at its worst.

The Toronto Star's published the testimony of a former member who was lucky to escape with his wife. There's a legitimate fear the Quebec authorities have that the cult might commit mass suicide, children included, one more reason why they must be stopped.

At the November youth court hearing, several social workers described a cult-like atmosphere where members were isolated from the greater community and tightly controlled by the group’s leadership.

“Those children are afraid of the outside world,” one social worker told the youth court.

“Children confirmed to us that they are afraid of burning in hell if, for example, they are not modest enough.”

I've heard over the past 2 decades of at least a few stories like this, where cultish religious demagogues teach people they'll "burn in hell" if they don't conform to certain standards of dress, rather than certain standards of morale in how they treat the fellow human beings. It's disgusting in the extreme.

Half of the plot shows Kamala in battle as the new Ms. Marvel, using her shape-shifting, size-changing powers to fight a monster made of trash in a New Jersey junkyard, while the other half has her racing to her cousin’s mehndi (pre-wedding party), a cultural event that is refreshing to see depicted in a superhero comic. The story does remarkable working capturing the conflict between Kamala’s costumed and civilian life, and the restrictions and expectations placed on her at home make the superhero scene feel like a true moment of liberation for the character.

"Drastically"? I think it's clear that, were Marvel and DC to introduce a boilerplate communist/anti-Judeo-Christian/atheist/marxist/Scientologist/socialist/fascist character into their pages, all the while depicting the mindset in a completely positive light, they'd lash out at any and all who dare utter even the slightest criticism for trivializing bad ideologies. Until this rather ambiguous commentary, I had no idea the writers for the AV Club were this dumb.

The monster she fights in a junkyard made of trash sounds laughable, and brings to mind a fantasy sequence from Calvin and Hobbes where the the 6-year-old daydreamer thinks he's battling a monster made of old leaves. And no matter what "restrictions and expectations" they bring up in the story, there's no chance they'll ever deal with them convincingly. The artwork featured from the book they talk about is unimpressive, typical of various modern comics that have very little feel for superhero and adventure comics, drawn pretty stiffly.

I don't think Marvel withdrew their pamphlets from mainstream bookstores because they were embarrassed of what knowledgable people would think if they saw this, but it shouldn't be too hard to guess that a lot of the copies would gather dust as not only realists wouldn't want to buy it, even hardcore Islamists wouldn't particularly care. As noted before, there's a lot of reasons why this isn't bound to be the runaway success they must want it to be.

PLO'S TV SHOW CALLS JEWISH JERUSALEMITES "CROWS AND RATS"

Pal. Media Watch found the PLO propagandists and indoctrinators up to their usual hatemongering stunts. The bile they ran on the program called "Sights of Jerusalem" translates like this:

"The crows pass by and caw (visual of Jews) and the rats are armed (visual of Israeli soldiers). But we know that the gates will smile only when we enter them... Jerusalem will never accept any language other than Arabic and any nationality other than Palestinian, no matter how much the flags of the foreigners fly in its sky."

Boy are they disgusting and have such filthy mouths. I think they should all go and live in a sewer along with all the rats already there.

I don't blog for my ego.

I blog to fight leftism, islamism, statist propaganda - and to generate enthusiasm among others who fight, too. To cheer on conservatives and conservatism.

Other bloggers are more protective of their images. Fine. They put cute little logos on them - (if even if they are based on some non-original image) and then police the internet to find any unattributed use of these semi-original images like image-gestapo - which is ironic since these images are most frequently composed of images they've swiped (usually unattributed - whether they're from AP or whoever) - and then manipulate in some way or another - usually with photoshop.

I guess ego gratification is important to them. VERY.

I don't blog for ego-gratification.

This blog doesn't even have ads.

I blog because I think fighting leftism and islamism - and evil - is important, and de-spinning the news is an important part of the fight. EVERYDAY.

And I believe everyone who is engaged in the fight against these things helps.

Every blogger - even if they use images and ideas and expressions that are sometimes unattributed.

For a while, I used to track how many times BIGTIME bloggers got BIGTIME traffic on news-related items which I had posted on first - very often my post had original commentary which these bigtime bloggers agreed with and offered up in their own way. I did this to promote the blog: I wanted as many potential regular readers of this blog to realize that this blog did not merely follow the pack.

It worked, and when I did that, traffic was higher. I no longer have the time to do that - or a lot of the other things I could do when I had more free time. And traffic is down. C'est la vie.

I did do that to get traffic - to reach more people, but not every blog has to have huge traffic in order for blogging to make a difference.

If each conservative blog can keep even only 1000 people MORE motivated, then it is accomplishing something important in the overall fight.

This blog regularly reaches 2000-3000 people a day and very often many more than that. Especially before elections when it regularly gets 100,000+ views a month.

And the original analysis and original and semi-original paint-shopped images on this blog reaches many more people when they are spread by other blogs - regardless of whether these are attributed or not.

I think that's great, too.

The fight - and not my blog traffic or personal "fame" - is what is important.

In my opinion.

THE DEVASTATING RESULTS OF MASS MUSLIM IMMIGRATION

Pamela Geller's written about what Muslim immigration in Europe and elsewhere has led to, mainly in Britain:

It was reported Monday that “almost 10 per cent of children under five years old in England and Wales come from a Muslim family, according to 2011 UK Government census information.”

The report continued, “Of the 3.5 million children aged less than five, 320,000 were listed as Muslim. By comparison, Christians make up 43 per cent of those aged under five.”

What is the problem with that? The enemedia would tell you that anyone who thinks this is something to be concerned about is a racist. But this is not really a question of race at all; it’s a question of assimilation. Hindus, Buddhists, South Asians, Africans--all kinds of people have come to the U.K. and the U.S. and had little trouble adapting to their new country. But Muslims are the first group to come as immigrants to the West determined to replace Western government and social structures with Islamic ones. Millions of Muslims come to Western countries with a ready-made model of society and government (sharia) which they believe to be superior to what we have here, and they work to institute it.

What happens to a country when its imports a colonizer force or hostile invader? In Dr. Peter Hammond’s book, Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat, he explains that as Muslim populations grow, so do demands for special accommodation to Sharia. When Muslims number less than two percent of the population, as they do in the U.S. now, they’re generally peaceful and tolerant. As the Muslim population grows, however, so do the demands (as we’re seeing now): for halal meat, Sharia courts, and more.

As the Muslim population grows, so does violent intimidation and lawlessness--an example being the Sharia-ruled areas all over Europe, where the governing authorities have essentially lost control. After Muslim populations reach 20%, we see rioting, jihad militias, church burnings, and worse--and once it reaches 40%, there are massacres and frequent jihad terror attacks, as we have seen in recent years in Bosnia, Chad, and Lebanon.

Beyond that, when Muslims are the majority, there is Sharia-based discrimination against and persecution of non-Muslims, and sometimes even genocide of non-Muslims, as we have seen in Bangladesh and elsewhere, which may be coming in Egypt and Syria today.

So taking David Cameron as a prime example, if only because he's a would-be conservative, what's he willing to do to prove he doesn't favor all the mass Muslim immigration and demands for accomodation at the public's expense? So long as he won't prove his courage, he will prove he's a pure failure.

PLO MINISTER CALLED FOR JIHAD IN JERUSALEM

Palestinian Authority (PA) Minister of Religious Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habash claimed Monday that Jihad fighters should not flock to Syria, but to Jerusalem - and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas applauded, according to Palestinian Media Watch (PMW).

"Whoever wants resistance, whoever wants Jihad, the direction for Jihad is well-known and clear," Al-Habash claimed to a crowd at a PA-sponsored event. "Those who send young people to Syria or elsewhere to die for a misdirected cause must stop and understand that Jerusalem is still waiting. Jerusalem is the direction, Jerusalem is the address."

9-11 MASTERMIND WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE'S REALLY ADHERING TO A PEACEFUL RELIGION

He released a manifesto in a desperate act to prove his point:

Washington — The self-proclaimed mastermind of the September 11 attacks, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, has released a manifesto claiming that the Koran forbids the use of violence to spread Islam.

The document, published Tuesday by The Huffington Post and Britain's Channel 4 News, marks Mohammed's first public communication since 2009, when the US government officially accused him of terrorism.

Mohammed, the most high-profile of the five men accused over the 2001 attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people on US soil, has been held at the US detention facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba since 2006.

In a major departure from his previous position, Mohammed said that "the Holy Koran forbids us to use force as a means of converting!"

He also tried in the 36-page document to convince his American captors, prosecutors, lawyers and members of his military tribunal to convert to Islam.

I'll bet there's no Koranic verses in any of the 36 pages to back up his pathetic defense. When will he ever be finally sent to the chair, where his spluttering and whining might prove more interesting?
