The Vancouver Province/AP Wire says French police arrested 4 suspects in jihad finance:

PARIS - French authorities have detained four suspected extremists accused of robbing a fast food restaurant in order to finance their planned travel to fight alongside Islamic extremists in Syria.

Prosecutor's office spokeswoman Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre says the four men, all French citizens, are being held on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act, as well as armed robbery of a Quick hamburger restaurant Wednesday in the suburbs of Paris.

She said the suspects were being questioned Friday by anti-terrorist investigators.

They can be held up to four days under France's anti-terrorism laws.

Not enough, and that's dangerous. Maybe they should exile them minus the money, to Syria or elsewhere, but not let them remain in Europe, where they can still be dangerous.

In effect, the state just nationalized roughly half of the private sector pension fund assets, although it had a more politically correct name for it: pension overhaul....

A VOICE OF SANITY IN BRITAIN

A writer for the UK Independent has some sensible arguing to offer about how anybody who thinks Israel is the root cause of all problems in the middle east or anywhere else is mistaken:

Given the longstanding iconography of anti-Semitism within the Middle East, it is perhaps not surprising that when regimes in the region feel threatened by their own people, they immediately seek to blame the insurrection on Israel or “the Jews”. When the wave of popular uprisings sometimes known as “the Arab Spring” reached Syria, Damascus’s envoy in London went on BBC’s Newsnight to tell a clearly startled Jeremy Paxman that “ the Israelis could be behind it…they could be behind any bad thing in the world.”

Actually, the Israeli government was most discomfited by the uprisings in the region, rather preferring the dictators it knew to the possibility of Islamist regimes in their place. It is Israeli citizens who are now stampeding for gas masks, not those of the US, in preparation for what might follow if President Obama does unleash part of America’s vast arsenal in the direction of sites believed to hold Assad’s chemical weapons.

It is true that Israel in 2007 sent eight fighter jets laden with 17 tons of high explosives to demolish the Dair Alzour site in Syria, which the International Atomic Energy Authority has since concluded was the base of a “gas cooled graphite moderated nuclear reactor not configured to produce electricity…built with the assistance of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.” So Israel is indeed ferociously single-minded in pursuing its self-defence within the region.

Yet the idea that Israel is the proximate cause of any tension within that part of the world – and therefore of the sea of blood sweeping through Egypt and Syria – is paranoiac when not deliberately mendacious. In many cases, the origins of the problems go back to the death of the prophet Mohamed, and the split between the followers who believed his successor should be appointed under Arab tribal tradition –later known as the Sunni – and those who insisted his successor should be from his family, and nominated Mohamed’s cousin and son-in-law Ali – the group which became known as Shia muslims.

More specifically, the problems have what to do with the Koran; as Robert Spencer's pondered, there's a possibility that Muhammed didn't exist, and if he did, was a very minor person in history. But there's saying something. The Islamofascists can't come to terms with their own faults, and can only think to blame everybody else but themselves, with the primary scapegoat being...Jews.

That's the real root of the problem.

A little under two years ago, Philip Hammond, the Defence Secretary, urged British businessmen to begin “packing their suitcases” and to fly to Libya to share in the reconstruction of the country and exploit an anticipated boom in natural resources.

Yet now Libya has almost entirely stopped producing oil as the government loses control of much of the country to militia fighters.

Mutinying security men have taken over oil ports on the Mediterranean and are seeking to sell crude oil on the black market. Ali Zeidan, Libya’s Prime Minister, has threatened to “bomb from the air and the sea” any oil tanker trying to pick up the illicit oil from the oil terminal guards, who are mostly former rebels who overthrew Muammar Gaddafi and have been on strike over low pay and alleged government corruption since July.

As world attention focused on the coup in Egypt and the poison gas attack in Syria over the past two months, Libya has plunged unnoticed into its worst political and economic crisis since the defeat of Gaddafi two years ago. Government authority is disintegrating in all parts of the country putting in doubt claims by American, British and French politicians that Nato’s military action in Libya in 2011 was an outstanding example of a successful foreign military intervention which should be repeated in Syria.

In an escalating crisis little regarded hitherto outside the oil markets, output of Libya’s prized high-quality crude oil has plunged from 1.4 million barrels a day earlier this year to just 160,000 barrels a day now. Despite threats to use military force to retake the oil ports, the government in Tripoli has been unable to move effectively against striking guards and mutinous military units that are linked to secessionist forces in the east of the country.

Libyans are increasingly at the mercy of militias which act outside the law....

NIDAL HASAN FINALLY HAS HIS BEARD SHAVEN

The murdering jihadist at Fort Hood gets his filthy beard cut in prison:

The army psychiatrist sentenced to death for the Fort Hood shooting rampage has been forcibly shaved, an army spokesman has said. [...]

Hasan, 42, who was born in America, is an inmate of the US detention barracks at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, home to the military death row. Lieutenant Colonel S Justin Platt, an army spokesman, said in a statement on Tuesday that Hasan had been shaved. He did not specify when or provide details.

Officials at Fort Leavenworth previously had said Hasan would be subject to army regulations.

I expect him to proceed with sob stories of how they won't let him grow a beard, though it would make him look like what he is: a creepy monster. In the end, I'd say it helps to send him a message of the serious punishment with no privileges he should be subject to in prison on death row.

POTENTIAL DRY RUN FOR TERRORISM AT BEN GURION AIRPORT

What happened yesterday exposes potentially lax security at the airport entrance driveway:

Ben-Gurion Airport security went on emergency alert early Tuesday morning, when two Palestinian men driving a stolen truck broke through the airport’s security checkpoint and refused to come to a stop.

The incident began at 3:30 a.m., when the trailer truck – which police said had been stolen in Beit Dagan – came barreling through the checkpoint at the entrance to the airport.

Police said the two men, residents of Jenin and Kalkilya, had refused to yield and had continued down the approach to the airport, driving through a second improvised roadblock and attempting to run over a security guard.

The truck finally came to a halt only 200 meters from the entrance to Terminal 3, after it ran over spikes that security personnel had put down and after a security guard fired shots that hit the tires, Ben- Gurion officials said.

The two men then fled the truck on foot, but were arrested shortly afterward. They faced a remand extension on Tuesday. [...]

According to Technion-Israel Institute of Technology Prof. Alan Kirschenbaum, the close call should not be cause for celebration.

“It was only after the fact that they learned that the truck wasn’t full of explosives,” said Kirschenbaum, the head of Kirschenbaum consulting and the initiator and coordinator of the Bemosa consortium – a Europe-wide research project aimed at improving security in airports.

He noted that the two men “were able to drive the truck all the way there, and if they had used different tires, possibly ones that would resist the bullets, they would have made it there. If these were highly motivated terrorists, then they probably would have done their deed.”

I'm glad they brought that up. I've never thought of whether bulletproof tires could be invented. But there surely are some brands out there, and that's why better security is needed to prevent heavy vehicles from infiltrating the airport.

I have no doubt this was a dry run for terrorism to see if the airport is breachable. The two filthy men should be interrogated to see if they were working for some local jihadists.

OBAMA'S FOREIGN POLICY: INEPTNESS OR TREASON?

I disagree with the opinion that the seemingly abysmal results of the foreign policy of Obama and his administration are caused by ineptness and incoherence.

I conclude that the results are the desired goals of Obama based on two things: 

• (1) the consistency of the results, and 
• (2) the consistency of Obama's appointments and long-time personal friends and alliances. 

In my opinion, if Obama and his administration were merely incompetent, then the results would be mixed.

They are not mixed.

(1) In every instant, the results have aided islamists of the AKP-ilk; that is to say islamists who are disposed to expand the breadth and depth of islamist control and the re-establishment of a caliphate - ("islamist hegemony", to use a term with less baggage) - via creeping sharia and democracy as opposed to violent jihad. I refer to Erdogan's famous utterance that "democracy is a train and you get off at your destination". The destination is the establishment of islamic republics with sharia; the means are non-violent whenever possible.

So - IMO - Obama supports the AKP and the MB and Fatah and the PML(N) and the House of Saud and opposes al Qaeda, because they all see the violence and terror al Qaeda uses as counter-productive.

Hence Obama uses drones to kill al Qaeda and USAF air power to depose Kaddafy while supporting Morsi and Erdogan - and Erdogan's and the House of Saud's desire to topple Assad.

I feel that Obama basically and consistently supports the global aspirations of the House of Saud: 

to finance Salafist mosques and madrassas and thereby the non-violent Salafist colonization - or subjugation - of the world.

(2) All of Obama's long-time personal friends and advisors are anti-Zionists; for example, Ayers and Dohrn have been life-long anti-Zionists and vehement supporters of Code Pink and other organizations that - allied to Erdogan - have been fighting the blockade of Gaza. Obama studied with Edward Said, and was a close friend of Said's primary disciple and one-time Arafat associate Rashid Khalidi. Charles Freeman, Samantha Power and Hillary and Kerry and Hagel have consistently over decades favored pressuring - if not blaming - Israel over pressuring the Arabs. Kerry called Bashar Assad his dear friend. Hagel has routinely blamed the Israel lobby. And Obama just this week released a video address supporting ISNA - a Muslim Brotherhood front organization. This happens the same week Egyptian newspapers are reporting they have proof Obama is a member of the Muslim Brotherhood.

IS HE REALLY A MEMBER OF THE MB? I don't know but... he might as well be.

I'd agree Obama was incompetent if anyone could point out one instant of an Obama policy which hurt the Muslim Brotherhood or stemmed global islamization. Just one.

Nope. Never happened.

In fact, Obama's very first interview was with the muslim press. And his first major policy speech was in Cairo - and he DEMANDED that Muslim Brotherhood representatives be present at that speech -  (a "reset" of our relations with the muslim world), and Obama got his wish. Of course, Mubarak therefore declined to attend - which was okay with Obama. Obama had no use of Mubarak; Mubarak was in the way.

Was this incompetence? No: Obama favored the Muslim Brotherhood over Mubarak and Obama has favored them over everyone and everything. Kaddafy was a piece of crap, but he was helping us attack the islamists. What did Obama do? Overthrew him.

The results might be bad for the USA and our allies - for the entire Free World, but only if you think America's foreign policy should advance our interests and the interests of our traditional allies and the Free World.

THEY'RE ONLY BUGS IF YOU'RE A PATRIOT, BUT, IF YOU'RE AN ISLAMOPHILIC POSTMODERN LEFTIST, THEN THEY'RE A FEATURE.

Islamists do not share our interests and have no desire to defend or expand the Free World. Hence, they like Obama's foreign policy.

As far as Syria is concerned: Erdogan and the House of Saud want BOTH Assad and al Qaeda defeated and an AKP-like party to take over. Obama and McCain think this is possible if we aid the "moderates" - ("moderate" is doublespeak for AKP-like).

I know there's one thing bothering you about this theory:

Why did the House of Saud stop supporting Morsi?

Because Morsi tried to do too much too fast and destabilized Egypt's already teetering economy - which, if it collapses - threatens the entire region. The House of Saud wants steady global islamization - at a pace that doesn't threaten their wealth and power. An Erdogan-like pace.

Obama has thus far succeeded in aiding the islamists - and attacking the islamo-terrorists whose violence creates a backlash to silently, steadily creeping sharia.

Until we elect a patriot, our only hope is if the internecine muslim war keeps them too occupied to attack us and our allies.

And the hope that Israel can neutralize Iran before it's too late, and the iranians get nukes.

Then we lose.
