A French soldier patrolling a business neighborhood west of Paris was stabbed in the neck on Saturday by a man who quickly fled the scene and is being sought by police, President Francois Hollande said.
The soldier was patrolling in uniform with two other men as part of France's Vigipirate anti-terrorist surveillance plan when he was approached from behind around 1800 p.m. and stabbed in the neck with a knife or a box-cutter.
Hollande, in the Ethiopian city of Addis Ababa, commented on the stabbing to say that the man was still on the run and police were exploring all leads.
"We still don't know the exact circumstances of the attack or the identity of the attacker, but we are exploring all options," Hollande told journalists.
Pardon? The description of the man who attempted the murder is here:
French daily Le Parisien cited a police source as saying the suspected attacker was a bearded man of North African origin about 30 years old, and was wearing an Arab-style garment under his jacket.
The police commander for Hauts-de-Seine is denying this, but is only being stupid by doing so. I hope they catch the filth who tried to murder the soldier, who was very lucky to survive.
The Irish Times says that in Holland, there's a Muslim stronghold that's taken a foothold in a neighborhood of The Hague:
There have been calls for an urgent debate in the Dutch parliament about the integration of Muslim immigrants amid claims that one area of The Hague, known locally as “the Sharia triangle”, is being run by a form of unofficial Sharia police.
The claims relate to the district of Schilderswijk, about two kilometres from the city centre, where an almost entirely Muslim population of some 5,000 people surrounds the El Islam mosque, fuelling criticism that the government has failed to ensure a proper ethnic mix in schools and local housing. One recent investigation, in which local people were extensively interviewed, concluded that Schilderswijk had become “orthodox Muslim territory” which was now largely ignored by the city authorities, by politicians and even by the police, on the grounds that it had become self-regulating.
The investigation found that orthodox Muslims had become so dominant that they were dictating what people in the neighbourhood wore and how they behaved.
“The norms of the majority are beginning to take over,” it said.
The chief of police claims they haven't any indication of sharia in the area, but only unmasks himself as an ignoramus. Geert Wilders has taken a visit to Schilderswijk, and he'll hopefully make some noise in protest of this enclave.
Since the attack, a number of people have been charged by police after allegedly offensive messages were posted on social media websites. These include a 22-year-old man from Lincoln, a 28-year-old man from London, a 23-year-old woman from Southsea, and a 19-year-old man from Woking. Three men - two from Gateshead and one from Stockton - have been arrested by Northumbria Police on suspicion of posting racist tweets ahead of a protest by the English Defence League in Newcastle.

The answer is never. Not the government and press, anyway. William Hague spoke with Benjamin Netanyahu and told him Israel was losing support in the UK because of "settlements". As though Israel ever had the UK's backing to begin with:
William Hague's comments come after Yuval Steinitz, a close confidant of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said perceptions of Israel were more negative in Britain than in other countries.
"Traditionally we had good relations with Britain and currently we have good intelligence cooperation with Britain and it's very successful," he told the Daily Telegraph.
"(But) we are concerned about the relations, about what we see as some animosities and some incitement in Britain, in the media, made by NGOs (non-governmental organisations) against Israel.
"I hope we will be able to use (Mr Hague's) visit to improve relations."
Mr Hague, though, was unrepentant.
He said: "Israel has lost some of its support in Britain and in other European countries over time - this is something I've often pointed out to Israeli leaders - because of settlement activity, which we condemn.
"We strongly disagree with settlements on occupied land. Israel is a country we work with in many ways but we do disapprove of settlements.
"We want to see both Israelis and Palestinians really commit themselves to the peace process while there is still a chance of a two-state solution."
Blaming both sides as usual, but truly only Israel is the scapegoat for Hague, and again he refuses to recognize that the land he has such a problem with us living on is Jewish, and he has no problem with Islamists enforcing sharia upon anyone. We shouldn't even be asking for their backing, because it would be foolish, and the UK is the least trustworthy of European countries on politics.
And I've got a feeling the only reason Hague even comes here is to blabber on and on with politicians yet never does he take the time to tour it and check out the shopping malls and speak with the common citizen or make friends - because he doesn't want any.
Army 1st Lt. Michael Behenna – In 2009, Behenna, a platoon leader, was sentenced to 25 years for killing Ali Mansur, an Iraqi with ties to Al Qaeda who was thought be involved in an IED attack that killed two of his troops. During a botched, impromptu interrogation, Mansur allegedly threw a piece of concrete at Behenna then lunged for his pistol before being shot.
Oklahoma Republican Senators Jim Inhofe and Tom Coburn have spearheaded efforts by over a dozen lawmakers to point out flaws in the prosecution’s case and conflicting testimony on forensic evidence. An Army Clemency Board has since reduced the sentence to 15 years.
Army First Sgt. John Hatley, et al – Also in 2009, Hatley received life in prison for the deaths of four Iraqi terror suspects caught fleeing a building found to have sniper rifles, assault rifles and a duffel bag of ammunition -- after a shootout with his patrol. Hatley was convicted without any forensic evidence, just witness statements years after the fact. His sentence has since been reduced to 40 years.
Hatley’s two subordinates, Army Sgt. First Class Joseph Mayo received a 35-year sentence, and Army Sgt. Michael Leahy was sentenced to life in prison.
And what about Al Qaeda?
Omar Khadr – In 2010, a Gitmo military commission handed down an 8-year sentence for the 2002 murder of a Delta Force Medic, Army Sgt. First Class Christopher J. Speer in Khost, Afghanistan. The son of Ahmed Khadr, Usama Bin Laden’s top fundraiser during the Sept. 11 timeframe, Omar was two months shy of his 16th birthday when he threw the grenade that killed Speer, contributing to a disingenuous charm offensive waged by his defense team and supporters portraying him as merely a victim of growing up Al Qaeda. Khadr is expected to be paroled in his native Canada next year.
Majid Khan – In 2012, Khan was sentenced at Gitmo to a maximum of 19 years for his role in the Jakarta, Indonesia Marriott bombing of 2003 that killed 11 people, and also plotting with Sept. 11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to poison reservoirs and blow up gas stations in America, as well as conspiring to assassinate Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf.
Let's get this straight: U.S. troops get between 25 years to life, and Al Qaeda gets 19 years or less!

Riots continued for the fourth straight night in Sweden Wednesday, as youth set fire to cars and threw stones at police in immigrant suburbs of Stockholm and the southern Swedish city of Malmo.
Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has appealed for calm in the wake of the violence, which appears to have been instigated by the police shooting of a machete-wielding 69-year-old man in the Stockholm suburb of Husby this month. Police said the shooting was an act of self-defense, but it has triggered accusations of police brutality.
Riots began in Husby, which has a large immigrant population, on Sunday night and have spread to other locations, including the southern suburb of Fittja.
A police station in another southern suburb was set on fire, but no one was injured in the attack and the fire was quickly extinguished, according to media reports. Dozens of cars have been set ablaze during the riots, testing the resources of the local fire departments, according to the police.
At least one police officer was injured in the riots Wednesday night, and two schools, a restaurant and a cultural center have been damaged this week.
Growing Disparities
The violence has been attributed to the growing disparities between rich and poor in the country, where immigrant communities have been affected the most by cuts in state benefits over the past two decades. Official unemployment among the foreign-born is at 16 percent.
"The reason is very simple," Rouzbeh Djalaie, editor of a local newspaper in Husby told the news agency Reuters. "Unemployment, the housing situation, disrespect from police. It just takes something to start a riot, and that was the shooting."
Djalaie told Reuters that local youths are often the subject of unnecessary identity checks from police, who reportedly called them "apes" during the recent riots. The country ranks fourth among 44 industrialized nations in the absolute number of asylum seekers.
Swedish Justice Minister Beatrice Ask called attacks on police officers or rescue personnel "unacceptable," but said she understood why many people in these suburbs are angry. "Social exclusion is a very serious cause of many problems, and we understand that," she said.
The Muslims are the ones advocating social exclusion, and it's a disgrace that she's even remotely justifying their violent behavior. When things like this happen, it destroys economic stability along with the automobiles that were burned, and it makes life terrible for everyone.

Burns on page A7. Editors slapped on the headline, "'Barbaric' Attack in London Renews Fears of Terror Threat," with "barbaric" in scare quotes.
While the Post, Journal, and Times all ran quotes from one of the attackers as transcribed from a cell phone video filmed by a bystander, the NYTimes curiously left out a portion of the rant where the attacker boasted, "We swear by the almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone."
... while Cameron, Livingstone, and company were responding to the Woolwich killing by defending Islam, feigning perplexity, and/or dismissing the idea that this murder had any larger significance, EDL leader Tommy Robinson was speaking the plain and simple truth, accusing the country’s leaders of being “scared to say the word Muslim” and flatly rejecting the fatuous falsehoods about Islam that are proferred in Britain’s classrooms and endlessly reiterated in its media. The Jerusalem District Attorney filed an indictment against Ahmed Abu Alhlawh, an 18-year-old resident of Jerusalem, who attacked a young haredi man during Nakba Day events, held on May 15.
According to the indictment, on Nakba Day the defendant walked to the Damascus Gate with some friends. When the defendant and his friends noticed a group of young haredim, they punched and kicked them, because of their Jewish ethnicity. The haredi that was hospitalized was in fair condition at the time, and stayed in the hospital for five days.
And now the creep who attacked him should be incarcerated for 5 decades for committing a hate crime.
The current IRS scandal should remind everyone that we have a permanent bureaucracy people by bureaucrats with their own interests - interests which don't necessarily coincide with those of our elected officials.
Administrations and their political appointees come and go, but the bureaucracy is eternal.
And the eternal bureaucracy is not neutral, politically speaking.
The bureaucrats have their own political agenda.
The State Department is run by people who favor diplomacy above all else.
The EPA is run by people who think Nature has a pristine state and that industry is evil.
The IRS is run by people who are statists.
And all unionized government workers are one of three legs on the corrupt GOVERNMENT COMPLEX stool - the other two are politicians who get their donations and the cronies of those politicians who get lucrative contracts from the bureaucracies run by the unionized bureaucrats.
This is why an important federal reform we should all fight for - as a result of the IRS scandal - is to do on a national level what Scott Walker did in his state: rein in the government unions; this is something FDR would have supported; (FDR opposed government unions because he saw the potential for abuse).
Another curative reform would be a flat tax.
The tax code gives politicians too much power - one they have ALL abused.

The Associated Press, quoting an unidentified British official, said both men had been part of an earlier security services probe.
But they didn't think they were dangerous? This brings to mind the pathetically disastrous efforts to keep the jihad murderer from Toulouse under surveillance.
Prime Minister David Cameron said on Thursday the brutal murder of a soldier by two suspected Islamists on a London street was an attack on Britain and a betrayal of Islam.
"This was not just an attack on Britain and on the British way of life. It was also a betrayal of Islam and of the Muslim communities who give so much to our country," he said.
"There is nothing in Islam that justifies this truly dreadful act."
He sounds just like Sarkozy did when he weakly condemned the terrorist act in Toulouse. Both seem to share a bit in common: either they haven't read the Koran, or they won't be honest and admit the content that one of the savages referenced in the video recordings. Cameron, like Sarkozy, has only done a disservice to the victims with his cowardice.
Update: The Week has weighed in on the issue, asking if this is part of a rise in lone-wolf terrorism, but unsurprisingly, they won't ask if Islam is what's influencing the savages. The Koran is what should be the concern, not just al Qaeda.
The details of a shocking child abuse scandal began to emerge on Tuesday in the Galilee town of Majd al-Krum when a Nazareth court lifted the gag order on the affair, which apparently has been going on for ten years.
Munib Farhat, a 56-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum, is suspected of heading a cult and enforcing his will on six families in his community, including dozens of children. The police suspect Farhat of forcing the members of his cult to beat their children, humiliate them, withhold food, lock them in bathrooms and smear them with fecal matter. The cult leader is also suspected of abusing the women in the cult, committing sexual assault and sodomizing them.
The affair was exposed when a woman who belonged to the cult filed a police complaint several weeks ago. A team of investigators consequently launched an undercover probe into the woman's allegations, in cooperation with Welfare Ministry social workers and Interior Ministry officials. The investigation, which was accompanied by the Haifa District Prosecutor's Office, revealed that Farhat, who refers to himself as a caliph, allegedly imposed a very strict disciplinary code on 11 adults and 25 children.
Clearly, a piece of filth who wants to bring back the caliphate of the 7th-8th century. Israel National News says that:
...Farhat was also very involved in cult members' personal lives, and he required them to reveal intimate details of their relationships, and of their finances. He also demanded that members turn over their salaries to him, and he distributed allowances to members. Cult members questioned by police said that Farhat tried to foster total dependence on him, and demanded that they loyally follow his every instruction.
In other words, he operated by the worst ways of socialism. The children and women who were abused by that excremental creature have since been saved and moved to safer living quarters. Farhat should be sent to solitary confinement for his repugnant crimes. Cults like these are the most dangerous kind there is, and at least a year ago, the authorities announced that they're trying to launch a program to deal with cult groupings.
Update: also crucial to note is this equally obscene news that occurred in more recent times of a cult leader from a Haredi background named Elior Chen, who conducted child abuse during 2007-08 in Betar Illit. He was given 24 years in prison, and should have received a much heavier sentence.
FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina man who the FBI says spoke of killing U.S. Army soldiers as part of a personal jihad has pleaded guilty to possessing a stolen firearm.
Erwin Antonio Rios admitted guilt Tuesday in U.S. District Court as part of a plea agreement with federal prosecutors.
In an affidavit filed with the court, FBI Special Agent Frank Brostrom said the 19-year-old from Fayetteville holds extremist Islamic views and told a government informant he would like to kill Fort Bragg soldiers.
Authorities said Rios also plotted to travel overseas to commit violence and devised a scheme to commit armed robberies to get money to buy weapons. The FBI set up a sting where Rios bought what he was told was a stolen handgun and was then immediately placed under arrest.
Obviously, he's another Muslim convert. And now, he's deservedly a jailbird.
